FTAN10A SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
1.Pluginandpoweronthedevice.
2.Setadifferentnumberforeachdevice.
Pressandholdthe"-"buttonfor5seconds,andyouwillhearthesound"DU"twice.Thenthe
LCDwillindicate"GroupCall0",andyouwillseeaflickering"0".Pressthe“LOCK”,
“TALK”,or”GROUP”buttonstogototheChannelnumbersetting,andtheLCDwilldisplay
"Channel1"withaflickering"1".Selectandpressthenumberyouwanttosetusingthe
keyboard(1-19numbersavailableforsetting),andpressoneofthebuttons(LOCK,TALK,or
GROUP)againtocompletetheset-up.

Tap"LOCK"totalkwithoutpressingandholdingthebutton,andpress"LOCK"againtalking.

Gototheroomyouwanttomonitor,andpressyourownnumberandthe"LOCK"button.Then,
theLCDdisplaywillturnredandindicate"Selective+yourownnumber".Aftertheaboveoperation,
youwillhearanysoundfromtheroomyouwanttomonitor,andthisstatuswillcontinuefor10hours
Youcanrepeatthisifyouwouldliketocontinuemonitoringformorethan10hours.

Fastpress"+"or"-"toadjustthevolume.
● ABC Stall switch
AllintercomsareoriginallysettoA.IfanotherpersonisalsousingA,orifthereisinterference
onthisfrequency,youmayswitchalldevicestoBorC.
TheGROUPnumbersetto"0"asdefault.ThedefaultGROUPnumbercanbechangedifyou
findthattheGROUPnumberisbeingusedbyothersorifinterferenceispresent.Themethod
tochangetheGROUPnumberisasfollows:Pressandholdthe"—"buttonfor5seconds,and
youwillheara"DU"soundtwice.Then,theLCDwillindicate"GroupCall0"withaflickering
"0".Setthenumberusingthekeyboard(thenumbershouldnotbeidenticaltothenumberset
forone–to-oneoperations),andpressoneofthebuttons(LOCK,TALK,orGROUP)tofinish
theset-up.Then,theLCDwilldisplayandflicker“Channelnumber”.Pressoneofthebuttons
(LOCK,TALK,orGROUP)tocompletetheset-up.

LCDdisplayturnsred.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
1)Checkwhetherthepowersupplyorpoweradapterproperlypluggedin.
2)Whenthedeviceisbeingplugin,donotpressthebutton"LOCK”,“TALK”,or“GROUP”.
3)Checkwhetherthepoweroutlethaspoweroriftheplugofthedeviceisproperlyconnectedto
thepoweroutlet.
4)Checkwhetherthepowercordisdefectivebyconnectingtootherdevices.
5)Checkthepowersupplyofthedevicebyconnectingtoanotherpowersupplyoroutlet.
1)Donotopenbutclosetheantennatothefactorydefaultposition.
2)Thedistancebetweentwodevicesshouldbeover2meters,andturndownthevolumeto
decreaseinterference.
3)Thedistanceofthedevicewithotherelectricalequipmentshouldbemorethan1meter,in
ordertoavoidinterferencefromtheelectricalequipment.
4)Re-pluginthepowercableandensurethatthedeviceisproperlypluggedin.
5)Donotlaythepowercableonthesurfaceofthedevice.
6)ChangetoanewChannelnumber.

2)CheckwhetheralldevicesaresetinA,BorC.
3)CheckwhetherthedevicesareinthesameGroupnumber.Ifnot,re-setalldevicestothesame
groupnumber.

4)Ensurethatthecorrectcommunicationbuttonispressedbythespeaker,andthattheLCD
displaybecomesred.
5)Ifthe"LOCK"buttonispressedbyausertospeaktotheotherperson,the"LOCK"button
shouldbepressedagainafterspeaking,otherwisethepersonontheothersidewillnotbeableto
speakthroughthedevice.
NotethefollowingimportantprecautionsbeforeusingINTERCOMforthefirsttime.
ThisINTERCOMcontainspreciouselectroniccomponents,Avoidtemperatureextremesduring
usestorage,anddonotsubjectittostrongimpact.
Avoidusingitinareawhereitmightcomeintodirectcontactwithliquidsandavoidveryhigh
humidity.
NevertrytoopentheINTERCOMortakeitapart.Doingsocanleadtoseriousdamageand
malfunctions
Cleantheunitbywipingitwithasoftdrycloth.Youcanalsouseasoftclothmoistenedwitha
weaksolutionofamildneutraldetergentandwater.Wipingasmuchliquidaspossiblefromthe
clothbeforewipingtheINTERCOM.Neverusethinner,benzene,orothervolatileagents.or
alcoholtocleantheunit.
Donotuseallowtheunittobeexposedtodirectsunlight,heatfromtheheaters,orothersource
fromheat(greaterthan60degreeC).

YourintercommightcauseTVorradiointerferenceevenwhenitisoperatingproperly.Todetermine
whetheryourintercomiscausingtheinterference,turnoffthestations,iftheinterferencegoesaway,
yourintercomiscausingtheinterference.Trytoeliminatetheinterferenceby:
Movingyourstationsawayfromthereceiver.
Connectingyourstationstoanoutletthatisonadifferentelectricalcircuitfromthereceiver.
Ifyoucannoteliminatetheinterference,theFCCrequiresthatyoustopusingyourintercom.
Changesormodificationsnotexpresslyapprovedbythepartyresponsibleforcompliancecouldvoid
theuser’sauthoritytooperatetheequipment.
Theantennasusedforthistransmittermustbeinstalledtoprovideaseparationdistanceofatleast
20cmfromallpersonsandmustnotbeco-locatedforoperatinginconjunctionwithanyotherantenna
ortransmitter.
Important:DonotholddownCALLformorethan10seconds.TheFCCdoesnotallowyoutosenda
continuoustoneformorethan10secondsatatimeonFRSfrequencies.
