The following safety precautions must be taken when using your air conditioner.
Safety Pre autions
1 The power supply must be from an independent circuit.
The air conditioner shall be installed in accordance with national wiring regulations and
safety regulations wherever applicable.
2 Some installation locations may require installation of a short circuit breaker or grounding
4 MAKE sure that the unit is correctly ventilated at all times :
do NOT place clothing or other materials over it.
5 NEVER spill any kind of liquid into the unit. Should this happen, unplug the unit and contact
your installation specialist.
6 Do NOT insert anything between the air outlet blades because the inner fan may be damaged
and you may be hurt. Keep children away from the unit.
7 Do NOT place any obstacles in front of the unit.
8 Users of this product are cautioned not to attempt repair of this product at their own discretion.
Instead, they are requested to directly contact a designated service center or the outlet
at which the product was purchased.
9 Do not use an extension cord with this product.
3 If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or assembly available
from the manufacturer or its service agent.

You have just purchased a portable-type room air conditioner which should be installed
according to your Owner’s Instructions.
Your Owner's Instructions contain much valuable information on using your air conditioner.
Please take the time to read them as they will help you take full advantage of the unit's features.
The booklet is organized as follows:

◆ In the main part of the document, you will find a series of step-by-step instructions
for each function available.

Turn the MASTER CONTROL,
and set it to “ HI COOL ” or “ LOW COOL ”.
Result: ◆ The air conditioner starts up in cool mode.

the Fan feature.

The air flow direction blades can be adjusted to improve the efficiency
of the air conditioner.

Adjust the blades to face upward for cooling.
◆When cooling the unit with the air flow direction adjustable
blades facing downward for long period time,
dew may form on the surface of the air flow direction
adjusting blades, and water may drip from them.

The following table indicates the temperature and humidity ranges
within which the air conditioner can be used.

Higher temperature The automatic protection feature may be
triggered and the air conditioner stopped.
Lower temperature A water leakage or some other malfunction
may happen if the heat exchanger freezes.
Power Failure
Here are a few recommendations that you should follow when using
your air conditioner.

If a power failure occurs while the air conditioner is operating,
it is switched off. When the power returns, the air conditioner restarts.

Be sure to clean the air filter periodically to maintain the air conditioner
in the best condition for a long period time.
When cleaning the air conditioner, be sure to stop
operation of the system, and pull out the power plug.

Remo e the dust on the air filter using a acuum cleaner and brush.

Insert the air filter into the original position.

Wipe the surface of the unit with neutral detergent
and then wipe it again with dry cloth.
(Be sure not to use benzene, sol ent or other chemical products.)

◆Check the cleanliness of the air conditioner.
◆Set the MASTER CONTROL to "LOW FAN", and dry the inside
of the air conditioner by operating it for 4 ~ 5 hours.
(The ser ice life of the air conditioner is lengthened when
the dew formed on the heat exchanger before storage
is remo ed.)
◆Stop operating the air conditioner, and pull out the power plug.

Hold the handle of the air filter and slide it up.

◆Check for any power failure.
◆ Check the oltage.

◆ Check the power plug for disconnection.
◆ Check to see whether the MASTER CONTROL is placed in "OFF " position.
(Set it to the desired position.)
◆ Check to see whether the room temperature is too low.
- Refer to page 8 for details about temperature condition.
◆Set the THERMOSTAT control to the desired position.
- When the number on the THERMOSTAT control is high,
the room temperature is controlled at a low le el.
◆ Check to see whether there is any open window or leakage of cool
air to the outside.
- Close the window, and fill the gap.
◆ Check to see whether there is any obstacle ad ersely affecting
the flow of the air inside and outside the room.
- Remo e the obstacle or change the position of the air conditioner.
◆ Check to see whether the air filter is clogged with dust or
contaminated with foreign substances.
- Clean the air filter.
◆ Check to see whether there is any direct sunlight facing
the air conditioner.
- Block the sunlight with sunshade.
◆ Check to see whether there is any electric de ice generating heat.
- Do not use the air conditioner together with any heating de ice.
Problem
The air conditioner
does not operate at all.
The air comes out smoothly,
but cooling is not effecti e.
Before contacting the after-sales service, perform the following simple checks.
They may save you the time and the expense of an unnecessary call.
