do not remove the memory
card or battery.
Doing
so may damage thedata stored on the

• You can capture aphotowithout inserting a

card, but the captured photocannot be
transferred to amemory card oracomputer.
Attaching and removing the lens
Before mounting the lens, remove the lens cap, lens
mount cover, and body cap.
To attach the lens, align the red markon the lens with
the red markon the camera body.Then, rotate the lens
as shown in the illustration until it locks into place.
• Ifyou attach a
lens withthezoom lockswitch,
unlock
it byrotating the zoom ring anti-
clockwise.
When the lens is locked, you cannot
capture photos
and the Lens is locked message
appears.
• To lockthe lens, pull and hold thezoom lock
switch
away from the camera body and rotate
the
zoom ring as shown in the illustration.

In Expert mode, you can set the aperture value
or
the
shutter speed and shoot by selecting Program, Aperture
Priority, ShutterPriority, Manual,
or
Custom mode.
UsingProgram mode
In Program mode,
the
camera automaticallyadjusts
shutterspeed and
the
aperture value so
that
an
optimal exposure value can beachieved.
If
you press
the command dial once and rotate
it
to
the
left
or
right
in Shooting mode, you can choose a specific shutter
speed
or
aperturevalue, while
the
camera maintains
the
