Internet security
Samsung takesanumberof steps toprotectits Internet-compatibleSmart TVs against unauthorized incursions and
hacking. For example, certain sensitive communications between the TV and the Internet servers are encrypted. In
addition,the TV's operating system has adopted controlsto preventthe installation of unauthorized applications.
Although we take steps to protectyourSmart TV and personal information, no Internet-connected device or
transmission is completely secure. We therefore encourage you totake additional steps to safeguard your TV, secure
yourInternet connection, and minimizethe risk ofunauthorized access. These steps are listed below:
• When Samsung releases software updates to improvethesecurity ofyour TV, you should promptlyinstall these
updates . To automatically receive these updates, turn on Auto Update in the TV's menu (- > @3 Settings>
Support>Software Update> Auto Update). When aii update is available, a popup message appears on the TV
screen. Accept the software download and update by selecting YES when prompted. Take steps to secure your
wireless access point and network. Your access point's manualshould provide additionaldetails about howto
implementthefollowing measures:
- Secure your wireless access point'smanagement settingswithaunique password to prevent unauthorized
changes tosecurityrelated settings.
-Implementstandard encryption (e . g., WPA2 encryption) on your wireless acc~ss pointto secure your wireless
network signal.
- Secure access toyourwireless networkwith ahard-to-guess password .
-Confirm your access point'sfirewall setting is enabled (if so equipped).
- Make sure thatallyourInternet-connected devices are behind your network'sfirewall.
-Ifyour access pointor modem has astandby mode button, use it to disconnectyour home networkfromthe
Internet when it is not in use.
• Use strong misswords forallyourInternet accounts (Netflix, Facebook, etc.). Ifyour TV has a camera, recess the
camera intothe TV's bezel when it is not in use. Recessing the camera makes it inoperative.
• If any unexpected messages appear on your TV screen requesting permission to linka device or enable a remote
session, do NOT accept.
• Do notvisit suspicious web sites and do notinstall any suspicious programs. We recommend that users installonly
those authorized apps provided by Samsung through Samsung Smart Hub.

01 TV Installation
Mounting the TV on a wall
~ If you mountthis TV on awall, followthe instructions exactly as set out by the manufacturer. Unless it is
~ correctly mounted, the TV may slide orfall and cause serious injuryto a child or adult and serious damage
to the TV.
For models providing wall mount adapters, installthem as shown in thefigure below before installing thewall mount
kit.

• To orderthewall mount kit, contact Samsung Customer Care at1-800-SAMSUNG (1-800-726-7864).
• You can install your wall mount on a solid wall perpendiculartothe floor. Before attaching the wall mountto
surfaces otherthan plaster board, contact your nearest dealer foradditional information. If you installthe TV on a
ceiling or slanted wall, it may fall and result in severe personal injury.
• When installing awall mount kit, we recommend you fasten all fourVESA screws.
• If you wantto installawall mount kitthat attaches tothe wall using two top screws only, be sure to use a Samsung
wall mount kitthat supports thistype of installation. (You may not be able to purchase this type ofwall mount kit,
depending on the geographical region.)
• Standard dimensions forwall mount kits are shown in thetable below.
• If you are installing athird-partywall mount, note thatthe length ofthe screws you can use to attach the TV to the
wall mount is shown in column C in thetable below.

• Do not use screws that are longerthan the standard dimension or do notcomplywith the VESA standard screw
specifications. Screws that are toolong may cause damage tothe inside ofthe TV set.
• For wall mountsthat do notcomplywith the VESA standard screw specifications,thelength ofthe screws may
differ depending on thewall mountspecifications.
• Do not fasten the screws toofirmly. This may damage the productor cause the producttofall, leading to personal
injury. Samsung is notliablefor these kinds of accidents.
• Samsung is notliableforproduct damage or personal injury when a n~n-VESA or non-spec ified wallmount is used
or when the consumer failstofollowtheproductinstallation instructions.
• Do notmountthe TV at more than alS degree tilt.
• Always have two people mountthe TV onto awall.
- For 82 inch orlarger models, have four people mountthe TV onto awall.
Providing properventilation foryourTV
When you installyour TV ,maintain a distance of atleast4 inches between the TV withotherobjects (walls, cabinet
sides, etc.) to ensure properventilation. Failing to maintain properventilation may result in afire ora problem witht he
product caused by an increase in itsinternaltemperature.
When you installyour TV with a stand ora wall mount, we strongly recommend you use parts provided by Samsung
Electronics only. Using parts provided by anothermanufacturer may cause difficultieswith theproduct orresult in
injury caused by theproductfalling.

Safety Precaution: Securing the TV to the wall to prevent falling
Caution: Pulling, pushing, orclimbing on the TV may cause the TV to fa ll. In particular, ensu re
your children do not hang on ordestabilizethe TV . This action may cause the TV totip over,
causing serious injuri es or death. Follow allsafety precautions provided inthe Safety Flye r
included withyour TV . For added stability and safety, you can purchase and installtheanti-fall
device as described below.
WARNING : Never place atelevision set in an unstable location. The televi sion set may fall, causing serious
personal injuryordeath. Many injuries,particularlyto children, can be avoided by taking simple precauti ons
such as
• Using cabinets or stands recommended by themanufacturerof thetelevision set.
• Only using furniturethat can safely supportthetelevisi on set.
• Ensuring thetelevision set is not overhanging the edge ofthesupporti ng furniture.
• Not placing thetelevision set on tallfurniture (for example, cupboards or bookcases) withoutanchori ng
both thefurniture and thetelevision set toasuitable support.
• Not placing thetelevision set on cloth orothermaterialsthat may be located between thetel evision set
and supportingfurniture.
• Educating children aboutthe dangers ofclimbing on furnitureto reach thetelevision set orits controls.
If you are retaining and relocating thetelevision setthat you are replacing withthis new set , you shou ld
applythe same precautionstothe old set.
• When you have to relocate orliftthe TV forreplacement or clean i ng, be sure nottopulloutthe stand.
Preventing the TV from falling
1. Using theappropriate screws, firmly fasten aset of brackets tothewall.
Confirm thatthe screws are firmlyattached tothewall.
- You may need additionalmaterial such as wall anchors depending on
thetype ofwall.
2. Using the appropriately sized screws, firmly fasten asetof brackets tothe
TV .
- For the screw specifications, referto "Standard Screw "inthe table on
page 7.
3. Connect the brackets fixed tothe TV and the brackets fixed tothewall
witha durable, heavy -dutystring, and then tiethestring tightly.
-Installthe TV near thewall so that it does notfall backwards .
- Connect the string so thatthe brackets fixed tothewall are atthe
same height as orlowerthan the brackets fixed tothe TV .

• The Universal Remote function operates normallyonly when the Samsung Smart Remote that comes withthe TV
