02 TVInstallation
Mounting the TV on a wall
Ifyou mount this TV on a wall, follow the instructions exactly as setout bythe manufacturer. If it is not
correctly mounted, the TV may slide orfall and cause serious injuryto a child oradult and serious damage
to the TV.
•You can mount the TVon thewall using awall mount kit (sold separately).
•Referto the installation manual includedwith the Samsungwall mount kit.

•Samsung Electronics is not responsible forany damage to the product orinjurytoyourself orothers if you choose
to install the wall mount onyourown.
•You can install yourwall mount on a solidwall perpendicularto the floor. Before attaching thewall mount to
surfaces otherthan plasterboard, contactyournearest dealerforadditional information. If you install the TV on a
ceiling orslantedwall, it mayfall and result in severe personal injury.
•When installing awall mount kit, we recommend you fasten all fourVESA screws.
•If you want to install awall mount kit that attaches to thewall using two top screws only, be sure to use a Samsung
wall mount kit that supports this type of installation. (You may not be able to purchase this type ofwall mount kit,
depending on the geographical region.)
•Standard dimensions forwall mount kits are shown in the table below.
•Ifyou are installing a third-partywall mount, note that the length of the screwsyou can use to attach the TVto the
wall mount is shown in column C in the table below.

Do not install yourwall mount kit whileyourTVis turned on. This mayresult in personal injury from electric
shock.
•Do not use screws that are longerthan the standard dimension ordo not complywith the VESA standard screw
specifications. Screws that are too long may cause damage to the inside of the TV set.
•Forwall mounts that do not complywith the VESA standard screw specifications, the length of the screws may
differdepending on the wall mount specifications.
•Do not fasten the screws too firmly. This may damage the product orcause the product to fall, leading to personal
injury. Samsung is not liable forthese kinds ofaccidents.
•Samsung is not liable forproduct damage orpersonal injurywhen a non-VESA ornon-specified wall mount is used
orwhen the consumerfails to follow the product installationinstructions.
•Do not mount the TV at more than a15 degree tilt.
•Always have two people mount the TV onto a wall.
Providing properventilation foryourTV
When you install yourTV, maintain a distance of at least10cm between the TVand otherobjects (walls, cabinet sides,
etc.) to ensure properventilation. Failing to maintainproperventilation may result in a fire ora problem with the
product caused byan increase inits internal temperature.
•When you install yourTV with a stand ora wall mount, we strongly recommend you use parts provided by Samsung
Electronicsonly. Using parts provided byanothermanufacturermay cause difficulties with the productorresultin
injurycaused bythe product falling.

SafetyPrecaution: Securing the TVto the wall to prevent falling
Caution: Pulling, pushing, orclimbing on the TVmay cause the TVto fall. In particular, ensure
yourchildren do not hang onordestabilize the TV. This action maycause the TV to tip over,
causing serious injuries ordeath. Followall safety precautions provided in the SafetyFlyer
included with yourTV. Foradded stabilityand safety,you can purchase and install the anti-tip
device as described below.
WARNING: Neverplace a television set inanunstable location. The television set mayfall, causing serious
personal injuryordeath. Many injuries, particularly to children, can be avoided bytaking simple precautions
such as:
•Always use cabinets orstands ormounting methods recommended by Samsung.
•Always use furniture that can safely support the television set.
•Always ensure the television set is not overhanging the edge of the supporting furniture.
•Always educate children about the dangers of climbing on furniture to reach the television set orits
controls.
•Always route cords and cables connected toyourtelevision so they cannot be tripped over, pulled or
grabbed.
•Neverplace a television set inanunstable location.
•Neverplace the television set on tall furniture (forexample, cupboards orbookcases) without anchoring
both the furniture and the television set to a suitable support.
•Neverplace the television set oncloth orothermaterials that may be located between the television
set and supporting furniture.
•Neverplace items that might tempt children to climb, suchas toys and remote controls, on the top of
the televisionorfurniture onwhich the televisionisplaced.
If the existing television set is going to be retained and relocated, the same considerations asabove should
be applied.
Preventing the TVfrom falling
1. Using the appropriate screws, firmlyfasten a set of brackets to the wall.
Confirm that the screws are firmly attached to the wall.
– You may need additional material such aswall anchorsdepending on
the type of wall.
2. Using the appropriately sized screws, firmlyfasten a set of brackets to the
TV.
– Forthe screwspecifications, referto the standard screwpart in the
table under"Mounting the TVonawall".
3. Connect the brackets fixed to the TVand the brackets fixed to the wall
with a durable,heavy-dutystring, and then tie the string tightly.
– Install the TV nearthe wall so that it does not fall backwards.
– Connect the string so that the brackets fixed to the wall are at the
same height as orlowerthan the brackets fixed to the TV. •The displayed image may differ
fromyourTV, depending on the
model.

About the Buttons on the Remote Control
•The images, buttons, and functions of the remote control may differdepending on the model.
•The remote control has Braille points on the Power, Channel, Volume, and Select buttons and can be used by
visually impaired persons.
•Ifyou use the remote control that comes with yourTVto control anotherTV, some functions may not operate
normally.
Displays and selects the available

•Bright light mayaffect the performance of the remote control. Avoid using nearbright fluorescent lights orneon
signs.
•Alkaline batteries are recommended forlongerbattery life.
1. Gentlypull on the batterycover's notch and then remove the covercompletely once it comes loose.
2. Insert 2 AAAalkaline batteries, making sure to align the positive and negative polarities correctly.
3. Place the battery coveron the remote control and insert the coverinto the remote control.
4. Slide the battery coverin the ordershown above so that the coveris completelyattached to the remote control.

04 Running the Initial Setup
When you turnonyourTVforthe first time, itimmediately starts the Initial Setup. The Initial Setup allowsyou
to configure the basic settings forthe TVto operate, such as broadcast reception, channel search, and network
connection, atone time.
•Before starting the Initial Setup, be sure to connect external devices first.
•To use the TV's smart features, the TVmust be connected to the Internet.
•To perform the Initial Setup using the SmartThingsapp, you must connectyourmobile device via Wi-Fi.
•If the pop-up forsetup does notappearautomatically in the SmartThingsapponyourmobile device, manually add
the TVusing Add Device on the dashboard of the SmartThingsapp, and then continuewith the set up process.
•The SmartThingsappis available formobile devices running Android 6.0 orhigheroriOS10 orhigher.
•Noise may occurtemporarilywhen the TV communicates with mobile devices.
You can also start the Initial Setup using the TV's menu (> Settings> General > Reset).
Followthe instructions displayed on the Initial Setup screen and configure the TV's basic settings to suityourviewing
environment.
Using the TVController
You can turnon the TV with the TVController button at the bottom of the TV, and then use the Control menu.The
Control menuappears when the TVController button is pressed while the TVis On. Formore informationaboutits
usage, referto the figure below.
•The screen may dimif the protective filmon the SAMSUNG logo orthe bottom of the TVis not detached. Please
remove the protective film.

Connecting the TVto a network gives you access to online services, such as Smart Hub, aswell as software updates.

Troubleshooting
If the TV seems to have a problem, first reviewthis list of possible problems and solutions. Alternatively, review the
Troubleshooting orFAQ Sectionin the e-Manual.If none of the troubleshooting tips apply, please visit "www.samsung.
com" and click Support orcontact the Samsung service centerlisted on the back coverof this manual.
•This TFTLED panel is made upof sub pixelswhich require sophisticated technologyto produce. There may be,
however, a fewbright ordark pixels on the screen. These pixelswill have no impacton the performance of the
product.
•To keep yourTVin optimum condition, upgrade to the latest software. Use the Update Now orAuto Update
functions on the TV's menu (> Settings> Support > Software Update > Update Now orAuto Update).
The TVwon’t turnon.
•Make sure that the AC powercord is securely plugged in to the TVand the wall outlet.
•Make sure that the wall outlet isworking and the powerindicatorat the bottom of the TVis lit and glowing a solid
red.
•Trypressing the TVController button at the bottom of the TV to make sure that the problem is notwith the remote
control.If the TV turns on, referto “The remote control does notwork.”
There is no picture/video/sound, ora distorted picture/video/sound from an external device, or
“Weak orNo Signal”is displayed on the TV, oryou cannot find a channel.
•Make sure the connection to the device is correct and that all cables are fully inserted.
•Removeand reconnect all cables connected to the TVand the external devices. Trynew cables ifpossible.
•Confirm that the correct input source has been selected ( > Source).
•Performa TV self diagnosis to determine if the problem is caused bythe TVorthe device ( > Settings>
Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Picture TestorSound Test).
•If the test results are normal, reboot the connected devices byunplugging each device's powercord and then
plugging itinagain. If the issue persists, referto the connection guidein the usermanual of the connected device.
•Ifyou are not using a cable box orsatellite box, andyourTVis receiving TVsignals from anantenna ora cable
wall connector, run Auto Program orAuto Tuning to search forchannels ( > Settings> Broadcasting > Auto
Program orAuto Tuning).
– Ifyou are using a cable box orsatellite box, please referto the cable box orsatellite box manual.

The remote control does not work.
•Check if the powerindicatorat the bottom of the TVblinkswhen you press the remote's Powerbutton. If it does
not, replace the remote control's batteries.
•Make sure that the batteries are installedwith theirpoles (+/–)in the correct direction.
•Trypointing the remote directly at the TVfrom1.5-1.8 m (150-180 cm) away.
The cable box orsatellite box remote control doesn’t turn the TVonoroff oradjust the volume.
•Program the cable box orsatellite box remote control to operate the TV. Referto the cable box orsatellite box user
manual forthe SAMSUNG TV code.
The TVsettings are lost after5 minutes.
•The TVisin the Retail Mode.Change the Usage Mode in the System ManagerMenu to Home Mode ( >
Settings> General > System Manager> Usage Mode > Home Mode).

•Make sure the TVhas a network connection ( > Settings> General > Network> NetworkStatus).
•Make sure the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.
•Check the distance between the TVand the modem oraccess point. The distance should not exceed15.2 m.
•Reduce interference by not using orturning offwireless devices. Also,verifythat there are no obstacles between
the TVand the modem oraccess point. (The Wi-Fistrength can be decreased by appliances, cordless phones, stone
walls/fireplaces, etc.)

•Contact yourInternet Service Provider(ISP) and ask them to reset yournetworkcircuit to re-registerthe MAC

•Reset by selecting > Settings> Support > Device Care > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub.

Howdoes Remote Supportwork?
You can easily get Samsung Remote Support service foryourTV.
1. Call the Samsung service centerand ask forremote support.
2. Open the menu onyourTV, and then go to the Support menu. ( > Settings> Support)
3. Select Remote Management, then read and agree to the service agreements.When the PIN screen appears,
provide the PIN numberto the technician.
4. The technician will then accessyourTV.
Eco Sensorand screen brightness
Eco Sensoradjusts the brightness of the TV automatically. This feature measures the light in yourroomand optimizes
the brightness of the TVautomatically to reduce powerconsumption. Ifyou want to turn this off, go to > Settings
> General > Eco Solution> Ambient Light Detection.
•If the screen is too darkwhileyou are watching TVina dark environment, it may be due to the Ambient Light
Detectionfunction.
•The eco sensoris located at the bottom of the TV. Do not block the sensorwith anyobject. This can decrease picture
brightness.

Caring forthe TV
•If a stickerwas attached to the TVscreen, some debris can remain
afteryou remove the sticker. Please clean the debrisoff before
watching TV.
•The exteriorand screen of the TV can get scratched during cleaning.
Be sure to wipe the exteriorand screen carefullyusing a soft cloth to
prevent scratches.
•Do not spraywateroranyliquid directly onto the TV. Any liquid that
goes into the product may cause a failure, fire, orelectric shock.
•To clean the screen, turnoff the TV, then gentlywipe away smudges
and fingerprints on the panelwith a micro-fibercloth. Clean the
bodyorpanel of the TV with a micro-fibercloth dampened with a
small amount of water. Afterthat, remove the moisturewith a dry
cloth. While cleaning, do not apply strong force to the surface of the
panel because it can damage the panel. Neveruse flammable liquids
(benzene, thinner, etc.) ora cleaning agent. Forstubborn smudges,
spraya small amount of screen cleaneron amicro-fibercloth, and
then use the cloth towipe away the smudges.

When you shut the TVoff, it enters Standby mode. InStandby mode, it continues to drawa small amount of power. To
decrease powerconsumption, unplug the powercord when you don't intend to use the TVfora long time.
