Troubleshooting
• If Windows cannot locate your modem
automatically, it may be that Plug and
Play is not activated in either Windows
or BIOS, (information about this may be
found in the instructions for Windows or
the motherboard) or that there is a
resource conflict – if that is the case, try
moving the modem to another PCI slot.
• If Windows notifies you that the modem
cannot be found or may be off when you
try to dial up the Internet, check that
the correct modem is selected in Dial-up
Connections.
• In certain cases it may be necessary to
configure the modem specifically to
special dial-up connections, e.g. certain
home banking systems, as for various
reasons these have opted to maintain
their own communication standards.
