OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Pleasereadtheseinstructionscarefullybeforeusingtheequipmentandkeepthemsafeforfu-
ture reference. S&P’s complete DHUM-Edehumidierrangecomplieswithsafetystandards
IEC 60335-1 and IEC 60335-2-40.
Werecommendyouchecktheconditionandfunctioningoftheequipmentonrstunpacking
it.AnymanufacturingfaultsarecoveredunderS&P’sguarantee.
SAFETY AND OPERATING RECOMMENDATIONS
• Checkthattheelectricalsupply’scurrentandvoltagematchthoseindicatedonthename-
plate.Thenameplatecanbefoundonthebackoftheequipment,afterremovingthewater
tank(Fig.3).
• Apermanentelectricalinstallationmustbecarriedoutbyaninstallerandcomplywithna-
tional standards for electrical installations.
• Ifthepowercableisdamaged,itmustintheinterestsofsafetybereplacedbyS&P’s after
sales service or by qualified personnel.
• IMPORTANT:Boththefront/upperpartandtherearpartofthedehumidiermusthave
sufcientclearance(minimum50cm)toallowappropriatecirculationofair.
• Thedehumidiermustnotbeusedintheimmediatevicinityofabath,swimmingpoolor
shower.
• Thisdeviceisintendedasahomeappliancefordomesticdehumidication.Itshouldnotbe
used for any other purpose.
• Changesormodicationswhichaltertheequipment’snormaloperatingcharacteristicsre-
present a potential source of danger.
• Donotpositiontheequipmentsothatitisclosetoaheatsourceorexposedtothesun.
• Beforemovingtheequipment,disconnectitfromthepowersupplyandremovecondensed
wateraccumulatedinthetank.
• Keepthedevicedisconnectedfromthepowersupplywhennotinuse,andbeforemoving
or cleaning it.
• Neverinsertaforeignobjectintotheinteriorofthedehumidier.
• Donotleavetheequipmentinoperationonanunstableoorsinceitcanproducenoiseand
vibrate.
• Theunitmustbeinacompletelyatpositionwheninoperation,toguardagainstdamage
totheequipmentcausedbyleakageofwater.
• Neverplaceanyobjectontopofthedehumidierwhichcouldobstructthepassageof
air.

• Thisappliancecanbeusedbychildrenagedfrom8yearsandaboveandpersonswithre-
ducedphysical,sensoryormentalcapabilitiesorlackofexperienceandknowledgeifthey
havebeengivensupervisionorinstructionconcerninguseoftheapplianceinasafeway
and understand the hazards involved.
• Childrenshallnotplaywiththeappliance.
• Cleaningandusermaintenanceshallnotbemadebychildrenwithoutsupervision.
• Thenormaloperatingtemperaturerangeis+5ºCto+32ºC.Itisnotrecommendedthatthe
device is used outside of this temperature range.
Note: The DHUM-30 E model incorporates a system of selfprotection. In the case of the
deviceworking.Above32ºC,theunitwillswitchoffautomaticallyindicatingerror«E5»onthe
display.

SETTING UP AND OPERATION
Beforesettingupthedevice,carefullyreadthesectionaboveonSAFETYANDOPERATING
RECOMMENDATIONS.
• ConnecttheunittothepowersupplyandpresstheStart/Stopbutton
Thedeviceinoperationindicatorlightwillautomaticallystartblinking .
Note:Thedeviceincorporatesadelaysystemwhichcausesittowaitforapproximately3
minutesbeforestartingtooperate,inordertoprotectthecompressor.Attheendofthedelay
period,itstartsworkingautomaticallyandtheindicatorlight ceases to blink.
• Usingthebutton ,selecttherequiredrelativehumidityfortheroom.Bywayofaguideli-
ne,acomfortablerelativehumiditylevelinaroomatatemperatureof22ºCwouldbeinthe
range55-60%HR.
Oncetherequiredrelativehumidityhasbeenselected,therelativehumiditydisplayindicator
(Fig.2(h))ceasestoblinkandindicatesthecurrentrelativehumidityintheroom.Ifitishigher
thantherequiredhumidity,thedevicecommencesitsdehumidicationfunction.Ifitislower,
thedeviceremainsinawaitingstate(functioningonlyasafan)withtheindicatorlight
blinking.

Note:

Continuous operation mode (CO)
Iftheuserselectsthisoption,thehumidierremainsinoperationpermanently,regardlessof
thelevelofhumidityintheroom.Useofthismodeisrecommendedwhenthelevelofhumidity
in the room is high.
Automatic operation mode (AU)
Iftheuserselectsthisoption,thedehumidierself-regulatesautomaticallydependingonthe
temperatureintheroomandthefollowingoperatingsettings.

• Byusingthespeedselector ,youcansetthespeedofthefan:

Timer operation
Byusingthebutton ,theusercanprogramaperiodofoperationbetween1hand24h.At
the end of the programmed period the device stops completely.
Duringthetimerperiod,thedisplayshowsthetimeprogrammed,andtheindicator is illu-
minated, indicating that the device is programmed to function for a limited time period.
Self-defrost cycle
Thenormaloperatingtemperaturerangeis+5ºC/+32ºC.Operationofthedeviceoutsidethis
range is not recommended.
Theself-defrostfunctionisinitiatedautomaticallybythedeviceitself.Itisactivatedforaperiod
of5minutesiftheambienttemperatureisbelow15ºCapproximately.Whenthisfunctionis
activated, the self-defrost indicator light illuminates.
Self reset function
Thedeviceisequippedwithaselfresetfunction.Intheeventthatthepowersupplyiscut
temporarily for any reason, the unit resets itself automatically, retaining the parameters set by
theuserbeforethepowercut.
REMOVAL OF WATER
Removal of water by means of the tank
1.Anintermittentsoundsignalaccompaniedbytheilluminationoftheredlight , indicate
thatthewatertankisfull.Thedevicewillceasetooperateuntiltheuseremptiesit(Fig.3).
2.Onceemptied,replaceitinsidetheunit.Whentheindicator goes out, this indicates that
the tank has been replaced correctly.
Precautions: Donotremovethetanktoooften.Ifthisactionisrepeatedoveraseriesofshort
periods,damagecanbecausedtothecompressor.Waituntilthetankiscompletelyfull.
Continuous water drainage
1.Removethewatertank,sothatyoucanconnectthepipetothewateroutlettube(Fig.3).
2.ConnectaPVCpipewithaninteriordiameterof14mmtothewateroutlettubeandsecure
itwithanylonhoseclip.Theextractiontubemustalwaysbeattotheoorandfreeofany
kinkthatmightobstructtheowofwater.
3.Replacethewatertankintheunit,andthelatterwillrestartoperatingafter3minutesap-
prox.

MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATIONS
1.Disconnectthedevicefromthepowersupplybeforecarryingoutanymaintenanceopera-
tion.
2.Cleantheexteriorofthedeviceusingaclothmoistenedwithwater.Donotusedetergents
or abrasive products.
3.Cleantheairlteronceeverytwoweekswithhotwater(40ºC).Donotusedetergentsor
abrasiveproducts.(Fig.3)
