Introduction
The VA-SW3050Lite is monitoring software for use with Sanyo’s CCD network cameras.
After installing the VA-SW3050Lite on your PC and accessing the camera, you can view live video from
multiple cameras on your PC.
MEMO:
When the camera does not support access to the network, install Sanyo’s option board (Network) on the
camera.
■Features
• Views live video from up to 128 cameras
• Switches screen display between a single screen, 4-part split screen, 9-part split screen or 16-part
split screen
• Switches the image format between the JPEG image and H.264 image
Applicable models (only those capable of outputting H. 264 images)
• Prints the video image displayed on your monitor display
• Operates cameras remotely and configures the settings stored on the camera
• Establishes bi-directional voice communications enabling voice to be output from the camera side or
talk to be conducted from the PC microphone to the camera side
Applicable models (only those capable of voice communication)
• Enables one camera to be simultaneously accessed from up to 16 PCs (including access from Web
browser) (Recommended: 8 PCs or less)
• Registers up to 10 users per PC and sets operating privileges for each camera

■System requirements
Confirm your system environment such as the types of cameras and optional boards as well as the
number of cameras connected.
●When the number of cameras connected is 4 or fewer:
●When the number of cameras connected is between 5 and 16:
Note:
Depending on the performance and/or the network environment of your PC, the system may become
busy, when you multiply the number of channels connected to transmit images in H.264 format.
If a dialog box displaying a warning message appears, reduce the number of connected channels for
H.264 image format.

Software Setup Procedure
Perform the following procedures before using the VA-SW3050Lite software. For detailed instructions on
individual procedures, refer to the respective pages shown below.
1Configure the TCP/IP settings on PC
Set appropriate values corresponding to the default gateway and subnet mask values
configured on the camera.

3Start the VA-SW3050Lite software and perform the login
procedure
When you log in to the VA-SW3050Lite for the first time, the [Camera
Setting] screen appears.

4Register the camera(s) with the software
Register the camera(s) to access, and configure the camera settings such as
IP address and camera title. After registering the camera(s), the live video is
displayed on the main screen.

5Configure the conditions of the image and voice
communications of camera(s).
According to the camera location and monitoring purpose, configure the
detailed conditions of the image and voice communications.

Installing the VA-SW3050Lite Software
Install the VA-SW3050Lite software on your PC. Start the installation program, and use the interactive
dialog boxes to advance the installation.
MEMO:
• The following components are necessary for
running VA-SW3050Lite.
• .NET Framework 1.1
• .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1
• DirectX Runtime
If these components are not installed on your
PC, follow the onscreen instructions to install
them together with the VA-SW3050Lite software.
(steps 1, 2, and F).
• Some installations require the OS to be
restarted afterwards. If so, follow the onscreen
instructions.
To uninstall the VA-SW3050Lite software, open the
[Add or Remove Programs] window from the
Control Panel, and select “Network Recorder” to
begin the uninstall procedure.
MEMO:
Uninstalling the VA-SW3050Lite does not delete the
configured files and the recorded data stored on the
PC. When you install the VA-SW3050Lite again, the
newer installation inherits those files and data.
■Before Using This Software
To make your software more stable, please install
the latest version of the H.264 plug-in.
The update information on the latest version
software is available on the following Web page.

1Double-click the shortcut icon on the
desktop.
The VA-SW3050Lite starts and the login
screen appears.
MEMO:
The VA-SW3050Lite icon appears in the
task tray at the right bottom corner of the
screen.
2Click the appropriate radio button to
select the display language.
Available display languages:
English, French, German, and Spanish
3Enter the user ID and password.
When you log in to the software for the first
time, use the factory setting values below.
USER ID : admin
PASSWORD : admin
Note:
• For security reasons, be sure to change
the password for the “admin” user from
the factory setting value (see page 30).
• If an invalid user ID or password is
entered three consecutive times, the
dialog displaying the authentication error
message appears. Clicking [OK] closes
the login screen automatically.
4Click [OK].
• When you start the software for the
first time or no cameras are
registered:
The [Camera Setting] screen appears.
Be sure to register the camera before
starting to use VA-SW3050Lite.
(Refer to “Registering the Cameras
with the Software” on page 8)
• When cameras are registered:
The live video is displayed on the main
screen.
(Refer to “Viewing the Live Video” on
page 12)
MEMO:
• If reading the sound device fails during
startup of the software, the dialog displaying
“Sound Device Error” message appears. In
this case, reinstall the driver or fix the defect
of the sound device.
• Some sound devices may not be recognized
by PC unless the speaker is connected to the
audio jack.
If this is the case, connect the speaker to the
audio jack. Otherwise, set the automatic
recognition function to OFF before use.
For further information, refer to the instruction
manual for the sound device you want to use.

The following operations are common to each
screen following login.
■Logging off
Click [Log Off] in the [File] menu.
The login screen is returned to.
■Closing the screen
Click the button in the top right corner of
the screen.
Alternatively, click [Close] in the [File] menu (the
[Close] button on the login screen).
This operation closes the screen and stores the
software in the task tray icon.
Since this is continually activated as permanent
software, the software remains operating and
functional.
■Opening the screen
Right-click the icon in the task tray to display
the context menu, and click [Return].
Alternatively, double-click the task tray icon.
The screen appears again.
■Exiting from the software
Right-click the icon in the task tray to display
the context menu, and click [Exit].
This exits from the software, and the task tray
icon disappears.
The camera can also be accessed concurrently
by multiple admin users via Web browsers.
However, when the user operates on one of the
following screens, other Web-based concurrent
admin users are disconnected.
• [Camera Setting] screen
• [Normal Recording & Live Setting (JPEG)]
screen
• [Live Setting (H.264)] screen
• [Audio Setting] screen
When Windows’ firewall protection or some
other firewall program is active on your
computer, the computer is blocked from
communicating with the cameras and thus the
system fails to operate correctly. This means
that you must disable the firewall protection
before you begin using the VA-SW3050Lite
software.
MEMO:
Note that, if you are using Windows XP SP2 or
Windows Vista, its firewall protection is enabled
by default. When the VA-SW3050Lite searches
for cameras after startup, the dialog confirming
the firewall setting appears. In this dialog, click
[Unblock] to allow the connection to the
camera.

Registering the Cameras with the Software
Registering the cameras with the VA-SW3050Lite is required for accessing the cameras to display live video.
Set the IP address of registered cameras using “ FIX ” (manual) mode (see “ NETWORK SETTINGS ” in
the instruction manual for the camera or the option board)..
• When no cameras are registered:
After the login procedure, the [Camera Setting] screen automatically appears. (See the above figure.)
• When you register additional cameras or change the camera settings:
Select [Camera Setting] from [Options] in the menu bar.
1Click the camera number you want to
register.
The color of the clicked camera row
changes.
2Enter the camera title in [Camera Title]
column.
When you set the camera title while
monitoring its live video, complete the
camera registration before setting its title
(see page 11).

Enter the address information of the
camera in [IP Address or URL] column.
When using the camera search function,
the camera address will be searched for
and displayed automatically (see page 10).
MEMO:
To change the camera IP address, use the
camera search function or the configuration
menu for the camera on the control panel
(see page 10). You can change the address
from PC.
4When the SSL communication is set to
the camera, select the [SSL] check box.
5Enter the video port number configured
for the camera in [HTTP PORT] column.
The default setting is “80”. When selecting
the [SSL] check box, the default setting
changes to “443”.
6When using the proxy server, select the
[Proxy] check box.
In this case, the [Proxy] setting under
[Options] menu is required (see page 35).

7Enter the password in [Camera
Password] column.
Enter the guest user's password configured
for the camera.
The default value is “guest”.
When you register multiple cameras, repeat
steps 1 to 7.
8To enable the settings, select the [No.]
check box.
Selecting the check box in the title line at
the top selects all check boxes in [No.]
column.
9Click [SET].
Completes the registration and connects to
the video cameras.
Clicking the [Set All] button in the title line at
the top executes the [SET] command to all
the cameras.
FClick [Close].
Closes the [Camera Setting] screen.
The live video of the registered camera is
displayed on the main screen.
GYour login user name appears.
1[Reload] button
Reloads and displays the selected camera's
setting information.
Note:
When registering cameras on two or more
PCs
You can load the settings stored on the
camera into this software. After inputting the
IP address and camera password, click the
[Reload] button to load the setting
information.
2[View Camera] button
Displays the still image from the selected
camera (see page 11-2).
3[Web browser] button
Starts the Web browser to automatically
access the selected camera.

for operations following access.
