Safety notes
• Wrong operation and inappropriate treatment can lead to disturbances at the appliance.
• Do not touch the plug with wet hands.
• Regularly check the cable. If it is damaged, it must exchanged by a qualified specialist.
• The cable must not hang over table edges and/or sharp edges. It also must not come into
contact with water.
• Do not use the cable to pull out the plug from the socket.
• Only qualified experts may perform repair and maintenance work on the appliance using
original replacement and accessory parts. Never attempt to repair the appliance yourself!
• Pull the plug from the plug socket, if you do not use the appliance.
• Place the salamander on a stable, flat and fire-proof surface.
• The appliance must not be placed near to open flame (for example gas ovens) or
inflammable materials (p. e. curtains). Always leave 20 cm space on each side.
• The salamander will become hot when in use, be careful when touching.
• Do not leave the salamander unattended while it is in use. Children are not able to realise
dangers when handling electric appliances.
• Do not move the salamander while it is in use.
• Before each cleaning, the appliance has to be switched off and the plug has to be pulled
out of the socket.
Operation of the Salamander
Before first start-up clean the salamander, as described under „Cleaning”
1. Put the plug into the plug socket.
2. Turn the toggle for the timer on the desired toast duration. The control-lamp lights up and
indicates that the salamander is ready for use.
3. As soon as the adjusted time is finished, the salamander will switch off automatically.
Cleaning
• Before cleaning make sure that the appliance has been disconnected from power socket.
• Pull the power plug.
• Let the appliance cool down.
• Brush off the grids carefully.
• Empty the crumb tray and clean it with a warm damp cloth.
• Put the crumb tray back into the salamander.
• Clean the housing with a damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent. Afterwards dry
everything carefully.
• Never hose down the salamander with water or place into water.
