Non-Contact Countdown Timer Model TM-29
Thank you for purchasing the Non-contact countdown timer model TM-29.
Read this manual thoroughly before using and keep it in a safe place for your future references.
Features
Model TM-29 timer does not have a start/stop button. You can start the timer and stop the alarm by
only putting your hand over the sensor by adopting the Non-contact sensor. So this timer is
hygienic safety.

How to Use
Remove the battery insulating tape before using the timer for the first time.
1) Setting the alarm sound
Press the Sound setting button on the back of the unit to select the alarm sound. After selecting a
sound, press the Minute or Second setting button to set it and return to the time display.
*Alarm sound 1: Beep Alarm sound 2: Beep Beep Alarm sound 3: Beep Beep Beep Beep Beep
*If no button is pressed for 30 seconds while setting the alarm sound, the sound currently selected is
set and the unit returns to the timer display.

2) Setting the countdown time
Use the Minute and Second setting buttons to set the countdown time.
- It can be set from 1 second to 99 minutes and 59 seconds in increments of 1 second.
- Holding down the Minute or Second button will quickly change the value.
- The non-contact sensor is designed not to react for five seconds after pressing each button (the
"minute" and "second" on the LCD are flashing). Install the unit during this period.
- In some cases, the sensor may be activated while setting or installing the unit and the countdown
may start. If this happens, press the Minute, Second or Sound button while the countdown is in
progress to stop the countdown and return to the timer display.
3) Starting the countdown
Holding your hand over the non-contact sensor on the front of the unit will activate the sensor with
a "Beep" sound and start the countdown.
*Note that the sensor sensing range is approximately 3 cm from the non-contact sensor in the
vertical direction. However, it may differ depending on the electrostatic condition of your hand or
environmental factors.
4) Stopping the countdown
Pressing the Minute(分), Second(秒) or Sound(音) button while the countdown is in progress will
stop the countdown and return to the timer display (the countdown time set).
5) Alarm
The alarm operation will continue for approx. 5 seconds when the set time elapses from the start of
the countdown. Upon completion of the alarm operation, the unit returns to the timer display
(countdown time set).
*Alarm operation: "0000" on the LCD and the LED light are flashing and the alarm is sounding.
6) Stopping the alarm operation
The alarm operation can be stopped by either of the following methods.
●Holding your hand over the non-contact sensor on the front of the unit while the alarm is
sounding.
- If you continue holding your hand over the sensor, it may activate the sensor and start the
countdown. Immediately release your hand from the non-contact sensor once the alarm is
stopped.
●Pressing the Minute (分), Second (秒) or Sound (音) button while the alarm is sounding.
7) Resetting the countdown time
Pressing the Minute (分) and Second (秒) buttons together will reset the countdown time.
Installing the unit
●Do not install the unit in a place exposed to water splashes or where the buzzer hole is directly
exposed to water splashes.
●Use the magnet on the back of the unit to attach the unit to a metal part of a wall.
●If there is no metal part available, stick the provided mounting plate to a wall or tiles.
*Before sticking the mounting plate, carefully remove any moisture, oil or dirt from the installation
area.
●You can also use the wall-mounting hole on top of the unit to hang it on a wall.

Replacing Batteries
When the batteries are insufficient, the following phenomenon occurs. Replace batteries immediately.
⚫The display dims.
⚫The volume of alarm sound gets smaller or buzzer does not sound at all.
⚫Sensor does not work (the timer does not start even if put a hand over the sensor)
(1) Rotate two screws on the battery lid counterclockwise
with a screwdriver until these are free.
(2) Remove the battery compartment lid.
(3) Remove the used batteries and load new batteries
with the right polarity (+ and -).
(4) Reinstall the battery lid and secure with the screws
in the reverse order of removal procedure
·When the unit got wet, wipe the unit with a
soft cloth and then, replace the batteries.
·Before close the battery compartment lid, be
sure to check that the rubber packing (black)
is securely grooved.
·Replace the batteries with new batteries of
the same type
·Do not dispose of exhausted batteries in a fire.
·For environmental conservation, dispose of used batteries in compliance with local
rules and regulations.
Troubleshooting
If countdown does not start, check “Possible cause” and take corrective action referring to the table
below.

Warnings
Do not solder, short-circuit, disassemble, heat or fire a battery to avoid an exothermic heat,
a leakage of battery fluid or an explosion.
If the leaked fluid is spilt on your clothes or your skin, wash it off with water and if it gets
into your eyes, wash it off with clean water and seek a medical attention immediately.
Batteries pose a danger of suffocation or poisoning if swallowed. Keep batteries out of reach
of children.
When disposing or storing a battery, seal the battery terminals with a tape. If the battery
terminals directly contact with metals and other batteries, it might cause an explosion or
damage.
Cations in operation
When the batteries are exhausted, be sure to replace the batteries to new ones.
The unit is not affected in function at the touch of wet hands or with splashes of water,
however do not use it in water and at the place always water is splashing.
If the non-contact sensor is wet, wipe up the water. Otherwise improper operation may be
produced.
Never disassemble or modify this unit. Doing so may result in failure
Do not throw the unit into fire.
Do not use this unit in an environment where electrical noise is generated. Doing so may
result in improper operation
If the unit becomes dirty, wipe it with a dry soft cloth
