Savant® Intercom Server
Quick Reference Guide
For Product Info
Wiring and Connections
Below is a high level diagram displaying the Savant Intercom Server Solution. After installing the SIS-5000S-xx Intercom Server into a racking type
system, the following connections can be made. Unless otherwise stated, the connection to the local Ethernet switch is a standard Cat 5 with RJ-45
connection.
1. Connect the Ethernet port of the SIS-5000S-xx to a port on the Ethernet switch within the local network.
2. Connect the Ethernet port from the Savant Host within the Savant Control System to a port on the Ethernet switch.
3. Connect a wireless router to the Ethernet switch. (This may already be wired as part of the complete Savant Control System)
4. After installing and wiring the 3rd Party Intercom Door/Gate Entry station, connect the station to the Ethernet switch.
5. If a Public Announcement system is being integrated, connect the system to the Ethernet switch within the local network.
6. Once wired, the SIS-5000S-xx Intercom Server, iOS device(s), PA system and Intercom/Door Entry system can be added to the Savant Control
System using the RacePoint Blueprint design tool. Refer to the Savant SIS-5000S-xx Intercom Deployment Guide.
7. Once added to Blueprint, the Savant Configurator can be used to configure the individual functions for each part of the system. Refer again to
the Savant SIS-5000S-xx Intercom Deployment Guide.
Rack Mounting
Savant offers an optional 1U Rack Shelf for installation of the SIS-5000S-xx Intercom Server and/or Savant Host into a 19-inch rack system. The
RCK-3000-xx provides front access via a removable faceplate, and sliding tray. An open shelf design provides proper ventilation and easy access to
wiring. For more information, refer to the Savant Rack Shelf Quick Reference Guide (009-0558-xx).
