ON THE BACK
1 Connect your source to the Magni’s RCA
jacks, labeled “L” and “R” with high-quality
RCA cables. Alternately, you can use
crappy cables if you really want to.
2 Connect the supplied wall-wart cable
to the jack labeled “16VAC.” Do not use any other wall-wart, no matter how cryo-treated and molecularly
aligned it may be. Most wall-warts are DC, and will not work with Magni.
3 Turn on the switch. The relay will mute Magni’s output for 5-7 seconds, then it will engage with a click.
ON THE FRONT
1Connect your headphones to the
headphone jack, marked with a
headphone icon. For smaller headphones,
you may need a 1/8” to 1/4” adapter.
2 Control volume with the single knob
on the front. It should be obvious which
one it is. We recommend you stop increasing volume before your headphones explode. Remember. Magni
puts out 1.2W into 32 ohms—it’s pretty powerful for its size!
3 And that’s it! Enjoy your music!

ON THE BACK
1 Connect your computer to the Modi’s
USB input, helpfully labeled “USB.” Use a
short, USB 2.0-rated cable (3 meters or
less.) Audiophile USB cables may be stiff
and cause “component levitation” of the
lightweight Modi.
2 Connect the two RCA jacks, labeled “R” and “L”, to your amplifier, preamplifier, or receiver. You may use
long cables—Modi’s active output stage drives them with ease.
3 Go ahead and play some music. Modi requires no drivers for Windows, Mac, or Linux computers—as soon
as you plug in, it’s recognized and ready to play. You may have to select it as the preferred output device in
Windows, however.
ON THE FRONT
1When the light is on, that means Modi is
powered up. That’ll happen every time it’s
plugged into an active USB port. Leaving it
on all the time is fine.
