Schiit MAGNI User manual

HEADPHONE AMP AND PREAMP
IN NORSE MYTHOLOGY, MAGNI WAS ONE OF THOR’S SONS.
THIS IS OUR MAGNI. NO RELATION.
YES, WE KNOW, YOU’RE DISSAPOINTED.
CONSOLE YOURSELF BY KNOWING YOU HAVE
THE BEST AMPLIFIER ANYWHERE NEAR ITS PRICE.

1 Connect your source to the Magni’s “IN” RCA
jacks with high-quality RCA cables. Or you can
use crappy cables (but why?)
2 Connect the supplied wall-wart cable to the
jack labeled “AC IN.” Do not use any other
wall-wart, or Magni will not work.*
3 Optional: Connect the preamp outputs to
powered monitors or an external power amp.

4 Turn on the switch. The protection relay will
mute the output for about 10 seconds, then it will
engage with a click.
5 Select HI or LO gain, depending on your
headphones. IEMs and earbud style headphones
will probably need LO gain. If you don’t have
enough volume control range, use LO gain.
*Magni’s wall-wart is AC output. Most AC adapters are
DC output, and will not work with Magni. Magni works
with a 14-16VAC, 1-2A output adapter only.

1Connect your headphones to the headphone
jack, marked with a headphone icon. For smaller
headphone plugs, you may need a 1/8” to 1/4”
adapter (not supplied.)
2 Turn the knob to control volume to both head-
phone and preamp outputs. We recommend you
stop increasing volume before your headphones
explode.
And that’s it! Enjoy your music!
OPERATION

Preamp Outputs: when headphones are plugged
in to the Magni, the preamp outputs will mute.
Headphones with Microphones: Some head-
phones with microphones use TRRS plugs,
which may have compatibility problems with
1/8” to 1/4” TRS headphone adapters. If you are
going to use a TRRS-terminated headphone, use
a specic TRRS-TRS adapter.
