3. Guideline to service
Please read the following notes and safety information carefully and familiarise
yourself with the various functions of our products.
3.1. Notes
•This user manual must be read completely before start-up.
•The user manual must be kept in the vehicle and must be accessible to the
driver at all times. If the “SafeTrans” is passed on to third parties also the us-
er manual must be passed on.
•The „SafeTrans“ system may only be mounted, maintained and repaired by
qualified personnel. The respective country-specific requirements and installa-
tion instructions of the vehicle manufacturer must be taken into account. The
country-specific installation instructions can be received from Hermann
Schnierle GmbH or from the vehicle manufacturer.
•An always functional and individually adjusted system is the condition for the
maintaining of your health. Maintain the functionality of your „SafeTrans“ sys-

3.2. Safety information
3.2.1. General
•Existing packaging material must be removed before putting the „SafeTrans“
sytem into operation.
•To avoid accident risks it must be checked whether all adjusting devices are
adjusted before putting the SafeTrans into operation.
•Inadmissible load due to weight exceeding or stepping onto marked compo-
nents or components which are described in the user manual is prohibited.
•Any change of the series production condition (e.g. due to retrofitting of not
original retrofitting parts and spare parts of Hermann Schnierle GmbH) can re-
peal the proven status of the system.
Functions, which can endanger your safety, can be impaired.
For this reason, any constructional change of the „SafeTrans“ system must be
released by Hermann Schnierle GmbH.
•Reconstruction or retrofitting of the „SafeTrans“ system may only be carried
out by authorised specialist workshops, skilled or appropriately trained per-

installing and removing of the „SafeTrans“ system.
•The wearing parts and the fixings of the „SafeTrans“ system and of the belts
must be checked from time to time.
•The adjustment devices of the „SafeTrans“ systems may not be actuated dur-
ing the operation (driving). For the prevention of accidents it must be checked
whether all adjustment devices are engaged and whether the system is func-
tional before the commissioning of the vehicle.
•The head rests must be in the legally correct zone while driving.
•The head and back adjustment may only be operated by the therefore provid-

•Restraint belts must be fastened before the operation of the vehicle. Affected
restraint belts must be changed after an accident. Furthermore the compo-
nents of the “SafeTrans” must be checked by suitably qualified personnel af-
ter an accident.
•The restraint belts which are installed on the belt pillar are changeable. The
change of the restraint belts can only be done after prior release of Hermann
Schnierle GmbH.
•In case of improper mounting there is the risk of injuries as well as property
damage and the function of the seat or the mounted parts cannot be guaran-

•Components such as armrest, head- and backrest may not be used as climb-
ing aid.
Components such as armrest, head- and backrest may not be used as a seat-
ing surface.
•If safety- and restraint-systems are even used properly the risk of injury can
only be minimised but in no case completely excluded.
The safety of the person transported in the wheelchair depends considerably
on the person who is responsible for the transport. Make sure that these per-
sons are appropriately trained and familiar with the relevant rules and consider
these rules. In particular these persons should be informed about the possible
risks.
Secure the wheelchair so that in case of dangerous driving manoeuvres of the
transport vehicle the risk of accident due to the wheelchair is excluded.
Modifications of the wheelchair and especially of the anchorage points are not
allowed.
The driver of the vehicle respectively the accompanying person must ensure
the professional securing of the wheelchair in the transport vehicle.
It must be ensured that in case of an accident the anchoring devices cannot be
loosened or detached by components of the wheelchair.
Please refer to the type plate of your wheelchair whether your individual
wheelchair is authorised as a seat for transport. Your wheelchair should meet
the requirements of the ISO 7176-19 in connection with a 4-point-anchoring
