2. General safety precautions
!
Disconnect the power supply before
attempting any work on the unit.
• During installation, the electric power cable to
be connected must not be live. Therefore, switch
o the power first and use a voltage tester to
make sure the wiring is o-circuit.
• Installing the sensor involves work on the
mains power supply. This work must therefore
be carried out professionally in accordance
with national wiring regulations and electrical
operating conditions. (DE: VDE 0100,
AT: ÖVE/ÖNORM E 8001-1, CH: SEV 1000)
• Only use genuine replacement parts.
• Repairs must only be made by specialist
workshops.
3. sensIQ / sensIQeNet
The sensIQ and sensIQeNet, referred to below as
sensor, are motion detectors for outdoors and suit-
able for mounting on ceilings and walls. The sensor
can be integrated into an eNet wireless network.
The unit is equipped with pyro sensors that detect
the invisible heat emitted by moving objects (peo-
ple, animals, etc.). The heat detected in this way is
converted electronically into a signal that switches
a connected load ON (e.g. a light). Heat is not
detected through obstacles, such as walls or panes
of glass. Heat radiation of this type will, therefore,
not trigger the sensor. All function settings can
also be made via the RC9 remote control or Smart
Remote, ➜"8. Accessories".
Note: The eNet version can be integrated into an
eNet wireless network.

4. Installation
• Switch OFF power supply (Fig. 4.1).
• Select a mounting location suitable for ceiling
or wall mounting (Fig. 4.2).
The site of installation should be at least 50cm
away from other lights because heat radiated from
these may activate the system. In order to achieve
optimum detection, the sensor must be installed
tangential to the walking direction. A corner wall
mount is provided for mounting on outside corners.
The mains supply lead is a 3-core cable (max.
conductor Ø 15-19 mm):
L= phase conductor
N= neutral conductor
PE = protective-earth conductor
If the rubber seal is damaged, the cable entry
openings must be sealed with an M16 or M20
double seal cable gland. A condensation water
drainage hole is outlined in the housing. This can
be opened for wall installation. The wall mount
must be renewed if any subsequent change is
made to the wiring run.

In this case, it is important not to exceed a sensor's
maximum connected rating. In addition, all units
must be connected to the same phase.
A floating module can be used as an option
(Fig. 4.7).
5. Mounting
• Check all components for damage.
• Do not use the product if it is damaged.
• Select a mounting location suitable for ceiling or
wall mounting.
Mounting procedure
• Undo locking screw (Fig. 5.1).
• Detach wall mount from lens housing (Fig. 5.1).
• Drill condensation water drainage hole in relation
to mounting direction (Fig. 5.2).
• Mark drill holes (Fig. 5.3).
Power supply lead, concealed (Fig. 5.4).
• Drill holes and fit wall plugs.
• Make sure the connection cable is wired
up correctly.
Power supply lead, surface-mounted (Fig. 5.5).
• Drill holes and fit wall plugs.
• Make sure the connection is wired up correctly.
• If the power supply lead is surface-mounted,
drill open the cable entry on the sensor housing
and file edges to make them smooth (Fig. 5.6).

Starting up eNet (eNet version only)
The sensIQeNet can be integrated into an eNet
system in various ways.
The sensIQeNet's sensor channel can be used
for switching an eNet actuator. The sensIQeNet's
relay (actuator channel) can also switch an eNet
transmitter/sensor.
Procedure for programming into the server
The eNet server identifies the sensIQeNet within
oneminute after applying the supply voltage or
after setting the sensor channel to programming
mode via the RC9 remote control, ➜"7. RC9
remote control functions". In this case, connec-
tion to other users in the eNet system is set up and
programmed via the eNet server.
Making connections via pushbutton
configuration
According to the eNet standard, the sensIQeNet
can also be connected directly to one or more eNet
users.
The sensIQ provides both options for connecting
the sensor channel to an eNet actuator and for
connecting the relay (actuator) to an eNet sensor/
transmitter.
Connections of this type are set up via the
RC9 remote control, ➜"7. RC9 remote control
functions".
Returning to factory settings
A factory reset is carried out resetting both
channels.
6. Functions on the unit
After connection to the mains power supply,
the sensor first goes through a calibration cycle
for 40-50s (LED flashes once a second).
Factory setting:
Light-level setting: 2000lux
Time setting: 10s
Reach setting = max.
Light-level setting (Fig. 6.1/E)
The chosen response threshold can be set from
approx. 2-2000lux.
Time setting (Fig. 6.1/F)
The time you wish the connected light to stay ON
for can be infinitely adjusted from approx. 5s to a
maximum of 15min.
Manual override
Activate manual override:
Switch OFF and ON twice. The light is set to
manual override for 4 hours (status LED ON).
Then it returns automatically to sensor mode
(status LED OFF).
Deactivate manual override:
Switch OFF and ON once. Light goes out or
switches to sensor operation.
Important: The switch must be actuated in rapid
succession (in the 0.2-1 s range).
7. RC9 remote control functions
(Fig. 7.1)
Principle: The eNet RC9 remote control makes
larger-scale lighting systems easier to install as it
avoids the need to set each light/sensor prior to in-
stallation. Any number of lights/sensors can be
controlled via the remote control. A status LED on
the light/sensor acknowledges each valid press of
the button for the specific product.
Functions:
1Light-level setting
The chosen response threshold can be
selected at the press of a button.
2Daylight operating mode (depending on
ambient light level)
3Night mode (2 lux)
4Light-level setting via the memory button /
teach mode.
This button must be pressed at the level
of light at which you want the sensor to
respond to movement from now on.
The current value is stored.
5Time setting
The period of time you want the light to stay
ON for after the last detected movement
can be set to 10s, 1min, 5min or 15min
by pressing these buttons.
6Setting the light to stay ON for a time of
your own choice. Each press of the button
increments the current time setting by
1min (up to 15min).
Pulse mode:
If the controller is set to " ", the unit is in pulse
mode, i.e. the output is switched ON for approx.
2s (e.g. for staircase lighting timer). Afterwards, the
sensor does not react to movement for
approx. 8s.
Reach setting (Fig. 6.2)
The reach can be infinitely adjusted from 2-20m
in three directions (independently of each other)
via 3 control dials. The maximum detection reach
is selected via the control dials.

Film shrouds 1-5 (Fig. 6.4)
If the independent settings of the 3 sensors are not
sucient, the detection zone can be restricted fur-
ther by fitting film shrouds 1, 2, 3. Film shrouds 1 +
2 under the sensor help to prevent the detection of
small animals. This, of course, takes these lenses
out of action and in particular results in loss of the
sneak-by guard.
Note: The remote control does not work when
using film shroud 2.
Advice: Apply a solution of water and detergent
to the lens before fitting the shroud foil. This way,
the foil does not adhere immediately and gives
you time to make precision adjustments. The foil
adheres once the detergent solution has dried.
Manual override function (Fig. 6.5)
If a mains switch is installed in the mains supply
lead, the following functions are provided in
addition to simply switching light ON and OFF:
Sensor mode:
Switch light ON (when light is OFF):
Switch OFF and ON once. Light stays ON for
the period selected.
Switch light OFF (when light is ON):
Switch OFF and ON once. Light goes out or
switches to sensor mode.

9. Operation / maintenance
The infrared sensor can be used for switching light
ON and OFF automatically. The unit is not suitable
for burglar alarm systems as it is not tamperproof in
the manner prescribed for such systems. Weather
conditions may aect the way the motion detector
works. Strong gusts of wind, snow, rain or hail may
cause the light to come ON when it is not wanted
because the sensor is unable to distinguish between
sudden changes of temperature and sources of
heat. The detector lens may be cleaned with a damp
cloth if it gets dirty (do not use cleaning agents).

11. Disposal
Electrical and electronic equipment, accessories
and packaging must be recycled in an environmen-
tally compatible manner.
Do not dispose of electrical and electronic
equipment as domestic waste.
EU countries only:
Under the current European Directive on Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment and its imple-
mentation in national law, electrical and electronic
equipment no longer suitable for use must be
collected separately and recycled in an environ-
mentally compatible manner.
12. Manufacturer’s Warranty
As purchaser, you are entitled to your statutory
rights against the vendor. If these rights exist in
your country, they are neither curtailed nor restrict-
ed by our Warranty Declaration. We guarantee
that your STEINEL Professional sensor product
will remain in perfect condition and proper working

after the time elapses, by pressing the reset

8Install mode (test mode)
Install mode has the purpose of checking
for proper working order as well for testing
the detection zone. Irrespective of light
level, the light switches ON for 5s in
response to movement. Movement is
signalised by the status LED.
Install mode has priority over all other
settings. Install mode ends automatically
after 10minutes.
Install mode ends immediately after press-
ing reset.
Note: Teach mode and Install mode
cannot be used at the same time.
9Reset
Resets all settings to the values selected on
the light manually or to the factory settings.

channel of the other device is also in
programming mode, briefly press the

2. Consignes de sécurité générales
!
Avant toute intervention sur l'appareil,
couper l'alimentation électrique !
• Pendant le montage, les conducteurs à rac-
corder doivent être hors tension. Il faut donc
d'abord couper le courant et s'assurer de
l'absence de courant à l'aide d'un testeur de
tension.
• L'installation du détecteur implique une inter-
vention sur le réseau électrique et doit donc être
eectuée correctement et conformément à la
norme NFC-15100. (DE: VDE 0100,
AT: ÖVE/ÖNORM E 8001-1, CH: SEV 1000)
• Utiliser uniquement des pièces de rechange
d'origine.
• Les réparations ne doivent être eectuées que
par des ateliers spécialisés.
3. sensIQ / sensIQeNet
Les modèles sensIQ et sensIQeNet, appelés
ci-après « détecteur », sont des détecteur de
mouvement actifs parfaits pour l'extérieur et pour
un montage au plafond ou mural. L'appareil est
muni de détecteurs pyroélectriques qui détectent
le rayonnement de chaleur invisible émis par les
corps en mouvement (personnes, animaux, etc.).
Ce rayonnement de chaleur capté est ensuite traité
par un système électronique qui met en marche
l'appareil raccordé (par ex. un luminaire). Les
obstacles comme les murs ou les vitres s'opposent
à la détection du rayonnement de chaleur et em-
pêchent toute commutation. Tous les réglages de
fonctionnement peuvent être également eectués
par le biais de la télécommande RC9 ou Smart
Remote, ➜« 8. Accessoires ».
Remarque : La variante eNet est conçue pour une
intégration dans un réseau radio eNet.

4. Installation
• Couper l'alimentation électrique (fig. 4.1).
• Choisir l'emplacement de montage approprié en
tenant compte du montage mural et au plafond
(fig. 4.2).
Il faut monter l'appareil à 50cm au moins de tout
luminaire dont la chaleur pourrait entraîner un dé-
clenchement intempestif du détecteur. Pour obtenir
une détection optimale, il faut installer le détecteur
tangentiellement au sens de passage. Un support
mural d'angle pour le montage sur les angles exté-
rieurs est également fourni avec l'appareil.
Le câble secteur est composé d'un câble à
3conducteurs (diam. max. de la gaine
15 - 19mm):

Si les joints en caoutchouc sont détériorés, il faut
assurer l'étanchéité des ouvertures de passage des
câbles avec un bouchon à double membrane M16
ou M20. Un trou d'évacuation de l'eau condensée
est prévu dans le boîtier. On peut l'ouvrir en cas de
montage mural. En cas de modification ultérieure
du passage de câbles, le support mural doit être
remplacé.
