Installation Instructions

Please read and understand all safety precautions and instructions in this manual before you begin the installation of this product.
WARNING
Risk of hazardous gases. If the new toilet is not installed immediately, temporarily plug the floor flange
hole with a towel (or cover) to block sewer gases from escaping.
CAUTION
Handle with care. Vitreous chinaware is glass-like with sharp edges if broken. Do not drop, handle roughly,
or overtighten the bolts.
NOTE
Observe local plumbing and building codes.
PLANNING INSTALLATION
Before beginning installation of this product, ensure all parts are present. Compare all parts with the Hardware Included
and Package Contents sections of this manual. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install, or
operate the product. Contact customer service for replacement parts at 1-800-880-8164.

REMOVING THE OLD TOILET
1. Turn o the water supply to the toilet and flush the tank completely. Towel or sponge any remaining water from the
tank and bowl.
2. Disconnect and remove the old water supply lines.
3. Remove the tank from the bowl by removing the old tank-to-bowl hardware.
4. Remove the bowl from the floor by removing the bolt caps and floor bolt nuts.
5. Remove the floor bolts from the toilet flange and clean old wax, putty, and sealant from the base area. (Temporarily
plug the floor flange with a towel or cover to block sewer gases from escaping.)
NOTE
Ensure that the mounting surface is clean and level before the new toilet is installed.
Care & Cleaning / Troubleshooting / Pre-Installation
WARNING
DO NOT USE IN-TANK CLEANERS. Products containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite) can seriously damage tank fittings
potentially causing leaks, excessive water use, and property damage. The manufacturer shall not be responsible or liable
for any tank fitting damage caused by the use of cleaners containing chlorine (calcium hypochlorite).
NOTE
Improper care may cause the warranty to become invalid.
1. When cleaning your toilet and toilet seat, wash it with mild soapy water. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and
dry with a soft cloth.
2. Avoid detergents, disinfectants, or cleaning products in aerosol cans. NEVER use abrasive scouring powders on
your toilet or toilet seat.
3. Some bathroom chemicals and cosmetics may cause damage to the toilet seat’s finish, so test your cleaning
solution on an inconspicuous area before applying to the entire surface.
PROBLEM SOLUTION
The toilet is flushing poorly, and the water level is
below the water line mark.
1. The shut-o valve may not be completely open.
Verify that the the shut-o valve opens fully.
2. Ensure the water supply line is not twisted.
3. The floater cup of the fill valve may be obstructed.
Adjust the fill valve to allow free movement.
Water is continuously running. 1. Water may continuously run if the flush seal is not
completely closed. Check to see if there is any
obstruction in the flush seal.
2. The push button rods may be too long. Shorten the
rods by loosening the lock nuts, adjusting the rods to
the proper length and tightening the lock nuts.
When installed the push button rods should just touch
the flush valve buttons without depressing them.

Do not rock the bowl back-and-forth, as this may break the seal.

Lower the toilet (A) onto the oor bolts (E) so the bolts project through the
mounting holes in base of toilet (A).
Using a rocking motion, press the bowl down to position the toilet onto the
flange (1).
Once the toilet (A) is in position, press down with a slight twisting motion on
the top center of the bowl (A) and eventually apply full body weight to evenly
compress the wax ring (D). This creates a water-tight seal.
IMPORTANT: The toilet (A) should be firmly seated on the floor, so it
does not wobble or rock.

1. Turn the toilet (A) on its side onto a towel or cushioned surface.
2. With the rounded (tapered) end of the ring facing the toilet, place
the wax ring (D) around the raised outlet ring of the base (A), and
press firmly enough so the wax ring (D) adheres to the base (A).

1. Insert new floor bolts (E) into the slots on the toilet flange (1) (not
included) with the bolt heads down and threaded ends facing up.
Use plastic retaining washers (F) to hold the bolts (E) in a full-length,
upright position.
2. Floor bolts (E) should be parallel to the wall and 6 in. apart.

CAUTION
Do not overtighten the hex nuts (G), as vitreous china can easily
crack or chip.

Place the metal washers (H), and hex nuts (G) on the floor bolts (E).
Alternately tighten the nuts (G) until the toilet (A) is firmly seated on
the floor.
Pour water into the toilet bowl (A) to prevent the escape of sewer gases.
Place the side caps (I) on the toilet (A) and press in for a secure t.

Line up the holes in the toilet seat (B) hinge bases with the holes
behind the toilet bowl (A).
Insert the locking bolts (J) through the hinge base and toilet bowl (A).

8: INSTALLING THE TOILET SEAT

CUnscrew the tightening nut (1) which is attached to the top push
button’s (C) body.
Insert the push button body (C) through the tank lid hole. Tighten
with the tightening nut (1).
Adjust threaded rods using locknuts so that the rods are positioned
just over and slightly touching the top of the flush mechanism.
NOTE
This comes preset and does not need to be adjusted.
Tighten the locking bolts (J) with a screwdriver, turning clockwise.
Close the bolt covers (1) by clicking into the small holes in the hinge
bases (2).

7: INSTALLING THE TOILET SEAT
Connect the water supply line (not included) between the tank (A)
and shut-o valve. Tighten the tank connection coupling nut ¼ turn
beyond hand tight. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE TANK CONNECTION.
Turn on the supply valve and allow the tank (A) to fill.
Check for leakage at all connections and tighten or correct as needed.

CAUTION
Do not push down on the seat with force, as this may damage the
slow-close mechanism.
