06 1. Preparation.
1.1 Transport
On receiving the product, please check it for completeness, lack of faults
and check it for any transport damage. Inspect the goods in the presence
of your forwarder Should transport damage have occurred, please cause
an inventory (determination of the faults) to be made in the presence of
the forwarder. Please send a complaint in writing to the specialist dealer
responsible.
1.2 Safety measures prior to use
Correct use of madita maxi. requires detailed and careful training of the
accompanying person. We ask you to read through the Instructions for use
carefully prior to initial commissioning of the stander and to observe them.
1.3 Safe disposal
In order to preserve and protect the environment, to prevent environmental
pollution and to improve the recycling of raw materials, please note the dis-
posal instructions in points 1.3.1 and 1.3.2.
1.3.1 Packaging
The product packaging should be stored in case the product needs to be
transported again. Should you have to return the product for repairs or in
case of a guarantee claim, please if possible use the original box so that
the product is optimally packaged. Separate the packaging materials for
recycling according to their classification. Do not leave packaging materials
unattended, as they are a possible source of danger.

Separate the raw materials used in the product for recycling according to
their classification. (see material information under point 2.1)

07 2. Product description.
2.1 Material information
The base frame and the individual elements are made of steel and alumini-
um which are non-corroding and powder-coated. The covers are made of
100% polyester and are flame resistant (according to DIN EN 1021-1+2).
2.2 Handling / transport
The therapy chair is not designed to be carried, as it is fitted with castors.
Should you have to carry the equipment due to obstacles, ensure that all
moving parts are tightened. Then position yourself next to the therapy chair,
grip it at the front and rear under the seat unit and carry it to the required
location. To transport the therapy chair, reduce all adjustments to their most
compact size (fold up foot support, set lowest seat height etc.)
2.3 Application areas, use according to the intended purpose
The madita maxi. therapy chair has been designed for children and teen-
agers who are unable to sit or stand independently, but whose limited torso
posture does not continuously require sitting in a seat pan.

2.4 Use not in accordance with the intended
purpose / warning guidelines
• Ensurethatthetherapychairisonlyusedbyonechild/adolescent.
• Onlyusethetherapychaironanevenandsolidsurface.
• Donotusethetherapychairtotransportpeople.
• Inordertoguaranteesafeliftingwhentransportingthetherapychair,
stand at the side of the therapy chair and grasp the front and back of
the seat surface. Here all movable parts should be tightened, e.g. seat
depth adjustment.
• Neverleavethechildunattendedinthetherapychair.
• Correctusageofthetherapychairrequirespreciseandcarefultraining
of the accompanying person.
• Themax.load(seepoint 5) may not be exceeded.
• Donotusethetherapychairifithasdefective,wornormissingparts.
• Forreasonsofresafety,thetherapychairmaynotbeplacedcloseto
an open fire or any other strong sources of heat such as electric or gas
heaters.
• OnlyuseaccessoriesandsparepartsmadebySchuchmann,otherwise
you will endanger the child.
• Onlyusethetherapychairifallcomponentshavebeencorrectly
mounted and adjusted.
• Pleaseensurethatnoneoftheuser‘sextremitiesareintherespective
area when making adjustments of any kind to minimise the risk of injury.
• PleasereadouttheInstructionsforuseforuserssueringfromavisual
or reading impairment, so that they can use the therapy chair safely.

Settings and adjustments to the product or accessories may only be made
by people who have been given the necessary instructions by a medical
productadvisor.Pleaseensurethatnoneoftheuser‘sextremitiesareinthe
respective area when making adjustments of any kind to minimise the risk
of injury.
3.1 Castors
The therapy chair should always be
prevented from rolling away inadver-
tently through braking of the 2 rear
castors. To do this, press down the lo-
cking device (A) on each castor using
the tip of your foot (B). To release the
castors again again, push the locking
devices up again with the tip of your
foot (C).
Brakes only operate correctly on even
surfaces!
3.2 seat angle
Seat angle adjustment is assisted by
two gas springs. To adjust the seat
angle, operate the foot pedal (D) and
with slight assistance the seat can be
moved into the active or passive posi-
tion. To prevent unwanted movement
the foot pedal (D) can be locked in
position, by means of the locking pin
which is to be found on the inner side of
the foot pedal. Turn the locking pin until
it latches (slight movement of the foot
pedal will help to latch it). To unlock the
pin, pull it out and rotate it for a quarter
turn.

3.3 seat height
madita maxi. can be adjusted up to
12 cm in height, delivery takes place in
lowest setting. Operate the crank (A)
underneath the base frame to change
the height.
In addition, both gas springs must be
readjusted in the height. This is being
achieved by dismantling the screws at
the lower end of both gas springs and
changing those positions within the
hole pattern (B).
This adjustment should only be done
by a specialist dealer!
3.4 backrest angle
The angle of the backrest can be ad-
justed by operating the clamp handle
(C) on the right side of the chair.
Please retighten the clamp handle
when adjusted!
In addition, the backrest can be ad-
justed in a certain angle, which is also
useful for heavy strain. This is being
achieved by mounting the screws (D) in
the desired position of the hole pattern
on both sides.

3.5 seat depth
Seat depth can be adjusted after loosening
the two grub screws (A) on both sides of the
chair.
Please retighten the grub screws after ad-
justment!
3.6 backrest height
To adjust the height of the backrest, the two
twist grips (B) on the back of the backrest
should be loosened.
Please retighten the twist grips after adjust-
ment!
3.7 armrests
Armrests are angle-, height- and width-ad-
justable. Unscrew the clamp handle (C) at the
side of the arm rest to adjust the angle. Bring
the armrest into the desired position and re-
tighten the clamp handle again.
Unsrcew the twist grip (D) at the side of the
arm rest to adjust the height. Bring the arm-
rest into the desired position and retighten the
twist grip again.
Unscrew the nuts (E) underneath the seat to
adjust the width. Bring the armrest into the
desired position and retighten the nuts again.
Please retighten all bolted connections
when adjusted!

4.1 Headrest
The headrest is height adjustable.
Loosen all four nuts (A) on the back of
the backrest and bring the headrest
into the desired position.
Please retighten all nuts when adjus-
ted!
4.2 Thorax pelotte pads
Thorax pelotte pads are height- and
widthadjustable. Loosen the screws (B)
on the back of the backrest and bring
the side support pads into the desired
position.
Please retighten all screws when ad-
justed!
4.3 Thigh guide
After loosening the cylindrical head
bolts (C), the angle and width of the hip
support pads can be adjusted (seat
width). The height of the hip support
pads can be adjusted by loosening the
two screws (D). In addition to the height
adjustment, hip support pads can be
mounted in dierent heights to the
armrest (E).
Please retighten all screws when ad-
justed!
4.4 Parking brake
The parking brake can be used by the
user themselves. If the lever mounted
onto the seat system is pressed down, then the brake is released. If the lever
is pointing upwards, the brake is applied.

4.5 Footrest
The knee angle adjustment has a snap-lock
joint which allows an adjustment in small
steps. Both twist grips (A) must be loosened
to adjust the angle. Please loosen the grub
screws (B) on the back of the footrest to adjust
the height.
Please retighten all bolted connections when adjusted!
4.6 Removable footplate
The removable footplate is easy to fit and en-
sures comfortable transfers within premises.
Just pull both snap locks (C) to remove the
footplate. Please plug first the rear socket (D)
in the base frame, when positioning the foot-
plate and make sure the snap locks latches.
4.7 therapy table
Put the therapy table on the left side into the
socket next to the armrest (E) and fasten the
wing bolt (F).
The therapy table can be adjusted in height
and depth. Height adjustment takes place
via adjustment of the armrests (see point 3.7).
For adjustment of the depth, loosen the wing
screw (F) and bring the therapy table into the
required position. In order to fold the therapy
table to the side, for example when the child
gets in or out, loosen the wing screws, swivel
the table upwards and guide it to the side of
the therapy chair.
4.8 abduction wedge
Loosen the wing bolt (G) to adjust the knee
abduction wedge in the height. For depth ad-
justment loosen wing bolt (H) underneath the
seat.
Please retighten all bolted connections
when adjusted!

4.9 Wheel base extension
The wheelbase extension serves to ensure stability
even for larger seating systems and backwards tilted
seat angle.
Wheelbase extension is not adjustable!
5. Repairs and cleaning.
5.1 Cleaning
Please clean all frame elements with a sponge or damp cloth. The covers
can be removed and washed at 30° in the washing machine. Please do not
dry the covers in a dryer and do not use aggressive cleaning agents or simi-
lar products. Please also pay attention to our general cleaning and hygiene
advice. You can find them at www.schuchmann.de/maditamaxi
5.2 Repairs
Please carry out a daily visual inspection and check the therapy chair regu-
larly for cracks, breaks, missing parts and malfunctions. In case of a defect
or malfunction, please contact the specialist dealer who supplied you with
the product (see 7. 5 ).
5.3 Spare parts
Should you wish to order spare parts, please contact the specialist dealer
who supplied you with the product, stating the serial number of the respec-
tive therapy chair (see 7. 5 ). Necessary spare parts and accessories must only
be installed by trained personnel.
5.4 Duration of use and re-use
The expected duration of use of our product, dependent on the usage in-
tensity and amount of re-use, totals up to „8“ years, providing the usage
takes place in accordance with the information in these Instructions for use.
It may be possible to use the product over and above this time period if it
is in a safe condition. The expected duration of use does not refer to wear
parts, such as for example covers, wheels, batteries..... The maintenance and
evaluation of the condition, and if applicable the potential for re-use, must
be decided by the specialist trader. The therapy chair is suitable for reuse.
Prior to forwarding on, please follow the cleaning and disinfection instruc-
tions in Chapter 4. Accompanying documents such as these instructions for
use are part of the product, and must be transferred to the new user. Ac-

No disassembly is required prior to re-use. In the case of storage, it is recom-
mended to fold the product to the smallest dimension to save space.

17 7. Guarantee.
The two-year statutory guarantee period shall apply for all products. This
guarantee period shall begin with the delivery or handover of the goods.
Should a verifi able material or manufacturing fault occur within this time
period, we shall, after carriage paid return to us, view the indicated damage
and, if applicable, either repair or deliver a new product at our discretion.
