DUAL ALARM CLOCK RADIO
WITH iPod DOCKING STATION

appliance and therefore an earth connection is not required.
PRECAUTIONS
Follow the advice below for safe and appropriate operations.
In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge, the apparatus has to be
reset by disconnecting it from mains supply.
PLACEMENT
.Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty, or humid.
.Place the unit on a flat and even surface.
.Do not restrict the airflow of the unit by placing it in a place with poor airflow, by
covering it with a cloth, or by placing it on a carpet.
.Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles on the apparatus.
.Use the apparatus only in moderate climates (not in tropical climates).
.Do not expose the apparatus to dripping or splashing.
.Do not place objects filled with liquids such as vases, on the apparatus.
SAFETY
.When connecting and disconnecting the AC power cord from the AC mains
outlet, pull the plug and not the cord itself. Pulling the cord may damage it and
may be dangerous.
.The mains plug must remain readily operable.
.When you are not going to use the unit for a long period of time, disconnect the
AC power cord from the AC mains outlet.
AC VOLTAGE
.Before use, check that the rated voltage of your unit matches your local voltage.
CONDENSATION
.When there is condensation inside the unit, it may not function normally.
.Unplug the unit for 1 to 2 hours before turning the power back on, or gradually
heat the room up and dry the unit before use.
.Ensure a minimum distance of 5 cm around the apparatus for sufficient
ventilation.
.Ensure that the ventilation is not impeded by covering the ventilation openings
with items, such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc.

.Pay attention to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.

POWER SUPPLY
Using AC power supply
Insert the AC power cord into the AC mains outlet with a 230V AC ~ 50Hz power
source.
Install the clock back up battery
The clock time can be maintained during a power failure by using 2 x AA/ LR06
batteries (not supplied). During a power interruption, the time may go forward or
back slightly and may require resetting.
Battery insertion
1. Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit by pressing on the
battery compartment catch whilst removing it.
2. Insert 2 x AA/ LR06 batteries (alkaline batteries are recommended) into the
battery compartment, following the correct polarities marked inside.
3. Replace the battery cover

2. Insert a 3V lithium battery (CR2025 or equivalent) with the polarity (+)
matching the indication inside the battery compartment.
3. Close the battery compartment.
Note: The remote control battery normally lasts for about one year, although it
depends on how often and for what operations the remote control is used.
If the remote control fails to work even when it is operated near the unit,
replace the battery.
Precautions when using batteries
1. CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only
with the same or equivalent type.
2. Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. alkaline, rechargeable and
standard (carbon zinc)) or old batteries with fresh ones.
3. Exhausted batteries must be removed to prevent any battery leakage.
4. Dispose of batteries properly according to environmental regulations.
BASIC OPERATION
ON/ Standby mode
After connecting the power supply (refer to “POWER SUPPLY”), the unit is in
standby mode and the clock time is displayed. Press the STANDBY button to
turn on the unit and press it again to go to standby mode.
Setting the clock
1. In standby mode, press and hold down the MEM/CLK SET button and the
hour digitswill flash.
2. Press the /buttons to set the hours.
3. Press the MEM/CLK SET button to confirm and the minute digitswill flash.
4. Follow steps (2) and (3) to set the minutes.
Alarm operation
The unit allows you to wake up to the sound of the buzzer or to music
(Radio/iPod).
Set the alarm time
1. In standby mode, press and hold down the ALARM SET 1/2 button and the
hour digitswill flash.
2. Press the /buttons to set the hours.
3. Press the ALARM SET 1/2 button to confirm and the minute digitswill flash.
4. Follow steps (2) and (3) to set the minutes.
Setting the alarm mode
5. After setting the alarm time, the alarm mode option will flash. Select a source
using the /buttons:Buzzer “ ”, “Radio” or iPod “ ”.
Enable/ Disable the alarm function
6. Press the ALARM SET 1/2 button to enable or disable the alarm function.
7. When the alarm function is on and the preset alarm time is reached, the alarm
will sound in the selected alarm mode.
8. To stop the alarm, press the AL OFF button. The alarm will sound again at the
same time the next day.

9. To disable the alarm function, press the ALARM SET 1/2 button.
Note:
•While the buzzer alarm volume is fixed and cannot be adjusted, the music alarm
volume can be adjusted to your desired level usingthe VOLUME +/- button.
•If iPod mode is selected, make sure the iPod is inserted in the docking station
and the volume is set to asuitable level.
•This unit has a dual alarm function. Use the ALARM SET 1 button to set the
time for alarm 1, or the ALARM SET 2 button to set the time for alarm 2.
Snooze function
When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button to stop the alarm
temporarily and it will sound again after 6 minutes. To cancel the SNOOZE
function and repeat the alarm the next day, press the AL OFF button.
Sleep function
You can program the unit so that the music you are listening to stops
automatically after a certain amount of time (up to 90 minutes).
1. When the unit is switched on, press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button repeatedly to
select the duration from 90 to 10 minutes. The duration can be adjusted in 10
minute slots, from 90 minutes to off.
2. When the preset sleep duration elapses, the unit turns off automatically.
3. To cancel the sleep function before the preset sleep duration elapses, press
the STANDBY button to turn off the unit immediately.
FUNCTION select
When the unit is switched on, press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select
one of the following sources:radio (“FM”/”AM”) or AUX IN. To enter iPod mode
(“ "), press the iPod button.
VOLUME control
Press the VOLUME +/- buttonsto adjust the volume level.
MUTE function
Press the MUTE button on the remote control to turn off the sound. Press it again
or use the VOLUME button to resume the sound.
EQ function
Press the EQ button repeatedly to select your desired music mode: “Rock”,
“Classic”,“Jazz”or “Pop”. The corresponding text is displayed.
Connecting the headphones
Plug the headphones (not supplied) into the headphones jack at the back of the
unit for private listening. The speaker output will be shut off automatically.

DIMMER control
Slide the DIMMER switch to HI (high) or LO (low) to adjust the brightness of the
LCD display.
DISPLAY function
In radio mode, press the DISPLAY button to display the clock time. Press it again
to return to the radio information display.
RESET function
Press and hold down the RESET button for 5 seconds to reset the unit.
RADIO OPERATION
Listening to the radio
1. When the unit is switched on, press the FUNCTION button to select radio
mode.
2. Press the STOP/BAND button to select FM or AM.
3. Press and hold down the or button for about 1 second and the unit will
automatically search up / down for a radio station. For manual fine-tuning, you
can press these buttons repeatedly to adjust the frequency step by step.
FM Stereo
In FM mode, “ST” is displayed when the unit receives a station with a strong
signal and stereo sound.
Achieve optimum reception
In FM mode, extend and position the FM antenna to achieve optimum reception.
In AM mode, orientate the main unit to achieve optimum reception.
Preset radio stations
You can store up to 10 stations for FM and 10 stations for AM.
1. Use the /buttons to search a desired station. Press the MEM/CLK SET
button and the station number will flash.
2. Press the M+ button to select a desired station number.
3. Press the MEM/CLK SET button again to confirm the setting.
4. Repeat steps (1) to (3) to store any other desired stations.
Listen to a preset station
When listening to the radio, press the M+ button to select apreset radio station.

Installing an adapter on the iPod docking
station
1. Select the iPod adapter that corresponds to your iPod
model from the table below.

2. Insert the adapter into the docking station at the top of the
unit with the two tabs facing forwards .
3. To remove the adapter, press the back of the adapter and pull it up.

Note: Ensure that you use the adapter corresponding to your iPod and that it is
installed in a stable way on the docking station.
Listening to your iPod
1. With the correct iPod adapter installed, gently dock the iPod (without the
protective cover) into the unit’s docking station. For iPod nano 1st and 2nd
generation, slide the dock adapter so that the iPod can fit in.
2.When the unit is switched on, press the iPod button to enter iPod mode.
3. Press the button to start playback. Press it again to pause playback. Press
it again to resume normal playback.
4. Press the / buttons repeatedly to skip to the previous or next track.
5. Press and hold the / buttons to fast search backward or forward.
6. Use the CHAPTER,ALBUM and PLAYLIST buttons on the remote control to
navigate through the chapters, albums, or playlists on a docked iPod.
7. Use the MENU /and SELECT buttons on the remote control to navigate
through the iPod’s menu and make aselection.
8. Alternatively, you can operate your iPod directly for playback.
Note:
•The internal iPod battery will charge until it is fully charged.
•Adjust the volume control on the unit to the desired volume level using the
VOLUME-/+ buttons on the unit.
•To prevent sound distortion during iPod playback on this unit, the EQ function
in your iPod must be set to “Off”.
•The docking station is not designed for playing or charging an iPod Shuffle
but it is possible to connect the iPod’s headphones jack to the AUX IN jack on
the unit. In this case, please select the desired tracks directly on your iPod
Shuffle.

REPEAT playback
Press the REPEAT button on the remote control several times to select repeat
playback mode.
Press it once to repeat the current track. Press it twice to repeat all the tracks
from an album or playlist. Press it a third time to cancel the repeat function.
RANDOM playback
Press the SHUFFLE button on the remote control to play the tracks in random
order. Press it again to cancel the function.
AUX IN FUNCTION
This unit has an AUX IN jack which allows you to connect your external audio
devicessuch as MP3 players or an earlier iPod model.
1. Connect a 3.5mm stereo connection cable (not supplied) to the AUX IN jack
on the back of the unit and the phones/line out jack on your external audio
device.
2. When the unit is switched on, press the FUNCTION button to select AUX
mode.
3. Operate your external audio device as usual to select and play the music.
4. Adjust the volume controls on both your external audio device and this unit to
the desired volume level.
Note: In AUX mode, this unit display cannot show any music information (e.g.
track number)for your external audio device.
AUX OUT FUNCTION
The AUX OUT jack allows you to listen to the music from this unit via an external
amplifier.
1. Connect a 3.5 mm stereo connection cable (not supplied) to the AUX OUT
jack on the rear of unit to the aux in/line in jack on your external amplifier.
2. Set the external amplifier to the appropriate audio input mode.
3. You can hear the music from the unit on your external amplifier.
MAINTENANCE
Care and maintenance
To clean the casing, unplug the unit and wipe off dust and stains with a soft cloth
moistened with a mild soap and water solution only. Do not use benzene, thinner
or similar chemicals to clean the casing.
If at any time in the future you should need to dispose of this product, please
note that waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household
waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your local authority or
retailer for recycling advice. (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
Directive).

TROUBLE-SHOOTING GUIDE
Problems Recommendations
1. The player or display
does not work
properly.
1.1 Press the STANDBY button to go to standby mode
and press it again to turn on the unit.
1.2 Press and hold down the RESET button for 5 seconds
to reset the unit.
1.3 Reset the unit by unplugging the AC power cord for a
few seconds, then plug it back in.
2. No sound, poor
sound.
2.1 Check the cable connections.
2.2 Use the FUNCTION or iPod button to select the
correct mode.
3. Noise or distorted

3.1 FM mode: Extend and position the FM antenna to
