PURPOSE
This Instruction Book provides assistance with site assembly and adjustment and supplies safety
and maintenance information. It refers to the drawings supplied in the contract (outline drawings,
installation drawings, wiring diagrams, etc).
To install equipment properly, the following are thus required:
- the drawings supplied in the equipment contract
- the disconnector manual
- the operating drive manual (electrical and/or manual operating mechanism)

Maintenance operations must be carried out by persons possessing:
• the necessary electrical accreditation,
• knowledge of the equipment in question.
Some maintenance operations must be carried out by SDCEM technicians, who can also
provide you with assistance in assembly and adjustment of your installations. Please contact
SDCEM Services for all queries (contact details on the last page of this Instruction Book).

The installation concerned by the operation must be de-energised prior to operation.
Electrocution, burn, explosion, finger squeezing, cut-offs (handling, operations, etc.) hazards are
present at each operation.
Only qualified persons, complying with all safety regulations, are accredited to perform such
operations.

Handle and unpack the equipment with care, in particular :

Minimum weight for an operating mechanism is 30kg. Refer to the instructions for the
hoisting means used.

USE OF THE OPERATING MECHANISM IN SINGLE POLE OPERATED MODE
This operating mode is used when the 3P disconnector poles are not mechanically inter-connected. Three MR41E electrical
operating mechanisms are used (one operating mechanism, referred to as the MASTER, controls the two others referred to as
SLAVES), one on each pole and electrically inter-connected by an S-COM communication module.
The remote control orders are managed by the master, who then redirects them to the two slaves, via the S-COM module.
Each MR41E single pole operated electrical operating mechanism has a digital display that reports any single pole operated
mode faults.
The main faults are displayed on the master, and the secondary faults on each slave.
To acknowledge a fault :

To accept remote control orders, each MR41E electrical operating mechanism must:
- have its position selector on the REMOTE mode
- be in the same position as the Master (Open or Closed)
- have no current blocking faults on a disconnector.
If this is not the case (for example a slave has its selector in the local position), the master
detects that the operating condition is not nominal and will not accept orders. It will display a
fault that will make the single pole operated mode not usable.

OPERATING CONDITIONS IN SINGLE POLE OPERATED MODE
All three disconnectors, to be operable in single pole operated mode remote controlled from the master, must be in the same
position: Open or Closed.
The 3 poles are closecd:

ELECTROMAGNETIC LOCKING DEVICE (OPTION)
The electromagnetic locking device, incorporated into the electrical operating mechanism, is fitted with a shutter at the inlet
orifice of the emergency crank-handle, activated by an electromagnet.
The shutter is open once the 2 conditions below have been met:
- Voltage transmitted from the control station
- Position selector in the ‘manual control’ position.
Operation :
1 – Once the manual operation authorisation has been given, apply voltage to the electromagnet from the control station.
2 – Switch the position selector to the ‘manual control’ position.
3 – Insert the emergency crank-handle. Carry out the manual operation.
4 – Remove the crank-handle
Close the label. Switch the position selector to the chosen position.

This device lets you lock the position selector in the ‘out of operation’ mode, with a lock of the RONIS EL11AP type (bolt
extended, key free), only when the operating mechanism is in the ‘open’ position.
To lock the position selector:
Place the electrical operating mechanism in the ‘open’ position, then place the
position selector in ‘Out of Operation’.
