OPERATION
Seal ‘n Lock System Corporation’s Cordless Pail Pump Spray System utilizes the popular SHURflo® pump
technology and DeWalt® Rechargeable 20 Volt Batteries. It is designed for our sealer (not solvent based sealers)
as it has no metals in the path through the pump containing Viton® Valves and Santoprene® Diaphragms.
CAUTION: NOT for use with Acetone, Acetone based materials or Acids. Acetone is highly
flammable and it will quickly disintegrate the Viton Seals and void the product warranty. We
do not recommend using any solvent based sealers or Efflorescence Remover as there could
be contamination with sealers and may explode.
1. Attach wand to spray handle and tighten.
2. Set the power switch to the off position.
3. Remove the lid from the pail, place sprayer on top and snap lid securely on to the pail.
4. Insert the two 20 Volt DeWalt® batteries into the battery ports. Make sure that you insert the batteries
into the ports as straight as you can without bending the contacts causing electrical damage to the pump.
5. Turn on the power switch and start spraying.
6. If you are using a Pail Cart, place pail in Cart, place pail pump on pail and snap lid onto pail.
The pump is self priming and will not be damaged by running dry for short periods of time. Priming time will vary
depending on the fluid viscosity and temperature. The pump is intended for continuous or intermittent duty when
the proper operating criteria are met.
NOTE: “Intermittent Duty” is defined as; operated and/or frequently started within a period of time that would
cause the motor to reach its maximum thermal limits. Once the maximum thermal limit is obtained, a thermal
breaker switch will interrupt operation until the motor cools down to normal operating temperature, then it will
automatically reset and resume operation which may take up to ½ hour.
Pump may cycle on and off at varying intervals depending on the viscosity and temperature of the material bring
sprayed.
CAUTION: If the thermal switch is tripped from overheating, it will reset and start operating
without warning.
To prevent accidental spraying, either set the power switch to off or make sure the spray
handle valve is not open.
During temperatures over 90° F place a damp towel over the Pail Pump to
prevent pump from overheating.
If unsure about clean out call technical support for in-depth clean out instructions when using
our Super Wet 2 Part Urethane - 813-545-1200.
Recommended storage temperature is 70° to prevent freezing.
When not in use, keep the pump on its side so you don’t bend or kink the suction tube.
Long term storage –Run 1 gallon of water every 30 days, except in areas where there are
freezing temperatures.

CLEAN-UP
Any type of sprayer will not function satisfactorily if the unit is not cleaned out thoroughly. Clean the
sprayer ASAP after each use by completely flushing the unit, including all hoses and wand with
manufacturers recommended cleaner until all traces of sprayed material has been removed.
NOTE: Failure to adequately clean the unit after each use will result in the failure of the sprayer to
operate satisfactorily and will result in loss of warranty coverage.
Do not leave material in unit between uses. Make sure to clean unit
after each use.
CAUTION: DO NOT use Acetone for cleaning as it will quickly disintegrate the Viton Seals and void the
product warranty. Only use recommended clean out procedures for our Paver Protection Products.
CAUTION: DO NOT use Sprayer for flammable liquids. Never operate the Sprayer in an explosive
environment. Arcing from the motor brushes, switch or excessive heat from an improperly cycled motor
may ignite an explosion.
CAUTION: DO NOT use solvent based sealers with this pump; it is not designed for this use.
NOTE: This unit has been designed for only Seal ‘n Lock System Corp’s Paver Protection Products.
NOTE: Do not attempt to spray sealer at a temperature that is lower than 50 ° F.
NOTE: Cold weather will cause most sealer to increase in viscosity. Keep all liquids at 70 ° F.
1. Clean Up Super Wet: Mix 3 oz’s of Pine-Sol.to 3 gallons of water and mix thoroughly. During
clean out make sure to squeeze the handle on and off periodically. Then rinse the system with 5 gallons
of fresh water. Pour 1 ounce of PineSol into 1 gallon of water and run through pump and leave in
pump until next application. Clean pump out with water before sealing as to not contaminate the
sealer.
2. You cannot clean these pumps out enough! Always run water in the morning before going on job to
make sure pump is ready. Storing for long periods; run 1 gallon of water through the system every 30
days unless you’re in freezing climates. Make sure to test pump before going out to the job site.
3. Clean up of Natural Luster: Run pump and flush out the system with 5 gallons of fresh water
while squeezing the handle on and off through the process. Run pump with water later that day and the
next morning. Always check the pail pump to make sure that it is working before going on jobsite.
4. * Clean-out solution may harm vegetation. Dispose of properly.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
SPRAYER WILL NOT START:
To see if the batteries are properly seated and fully charged.
To see if the contacts in the battery port are bent.
To see if the On/Off switch is in the on position.
SPRAYER WILL NOT PRIME:
To see if the pickup tube or discharge hose have any restrictions.
To see if you are out of product.
To see if the battery is properly charged.
To see if there are any vacuum leaks in the suction tube.
Remedy, force water from garden hose into the suction hose while pump is running with
wand handle squeezed to full open position, may free up the diaphragm valves.
SPRAYER OUTPUT VOLUME IS REDUCED:
To see if the battery voltage is low.
To see if the pickup tube or discharge hose have any restriction.
To see if sprayer wand and wand tip for restrictions
To see if material is too high in viscosity.
To see if material is too cold.
EXCESSIVE VIBRATION ON THE SPRAYER:
Look for foreign debris on the sprayer assembly or the bucket.
Look for loose hardware on the sprayer assembly.

IMPORTANT
READ BEFORE USE
1. Make sure pump is functional before use. Check before going on jobsite.
2. Pail Pump must be cleaned out as soon as you are finished sealing.
3. Use your metered pail (see attachment) for the clean-out. Use a scour pad after
adding your clean-out solution to remove the urethane that will stick to the inside
surface of the pail. You don’t want flakes of urethane floating in the liquid which
then gets sucked up into the pump diaphragm, clogging the pump on the next use.
4. Add three (3) ounces of Pine Sol to three (5) gallons of water. Stir then flush
through the pump system. Squeeze the handle (off & on) a few times during the
clean-out process to help clean the handle assembly.
5. Fill the pail with five (5) gallons of water and flush out the pump system.
6. Pour one (1) ounce of Pine Sol into one (1) gallon of water, run through pump
system and leave solution in pump until next application. Make sure to clean pump
out thoroughly with water before next use as to not contaminate the sealer.
