acquireda professionalhousingmeetingthehighestdemands.Wepaidspecial
attentiontoensuringthehighestreliabilityanddurabilitypossible.
ThemostimportantstepstofittheNikoninsidethe
SEALUXCD700underwaterhousing:
1.Preparationoflenses:
Inordertoallowthetransmissionofa zoomora manualfocusfunction,a suitable
cogwheelneedstobefittedtothelensinuse.Forthispurposethecogwheelhas
tobepushedontothelensgentlyandevenly.Itsexactpositionisimportant:the
cogwheeldriveshouldruninthecentreofthezoomcogwheel.Owingtolensand
cogwheelmanufacturingtolerancesitmaybenecessarytocompensatesuch
tolerancesbyusinga thinstripofadhesivetape(Sellotape).Thecogwheelshould
alwaysremainonthelens.
2.Fittingthecamera:
Removestrapeyes,displaycoverandrubberfromeyepiece.
Switchonyourcamera.
Fittheportsuitabletotheinterchangeablelensyouhavechosen(seebelow).
Placetheunderwaterhousingwiththeportontoa tableandopenthehousing.
Routethesynchchordtowardstheoutside.
RemoveAutofocus/ ManualFocusswitchingshaft(iffitted).
Theleverfor+/-andmodemustbeintheneutralposition(afterfittingthecamera
leversmustnotcontactanyofthekeys).
Thelensreleaselevermustbeinsertedbehindthezoomadjustmentwheel.
PleaseensurethattheOn-Offleverinsidethehousingisina horizontalposition
withtheleverpointingtotheright.SettheOn-OffswitchontheNikonD700tothe
Onposition.
PlacetheNikonD700ontothetripodplatestopsandfastenthetripodplatewith
thetripodboltusinga coin.Insertthecameraintothehousingwiththeslide,
movingitalongtheguiderails,securetheslidebyturningtheplasticdiscsand
tightenthemountingbolts.Nowpushthesynchchordplugontothecamera'sflash
shoeuntilyoufeela positivestop.
Checkallfunctionsonthefrontpartofthehousing.

3.ClosingtheUW-housing:
Pullouttheshaftfortherearadjustmentwheel,settheBKTflashswitchto
theOKposition(whitemarkpointingtofront).Pulloutthesegmentcontrol
leverandsetittothesinglesegmentposition.
Setthecameraswitchtothisposition,too.
MakesuretheO-ringiscleanandproperlyembeddedintheO-ringgroove.
TheO-ringshouldbelubricatedonlylightlywithsiliconegrease.
Gentlyplacetherearpartofthehousingontothefrontpart,thebackcoveris
automaticallycentredontothefrontguide.
Hookinandsimultaneouslysnapshutbothlockingdevices.
Nowcheckthatbothlockingdeviceshaveproperlysnappedintoplace.
Pushtheshaftfortherearadjustmentwheelandsegmentcontrolbackintothe
housingandcheckitsfunction.Byliftingthesegmentcontrolshaft,theyokecan
beputintoitscorrectpositionevenafterthesesteps.
Nowcheckfunctionsonbackcover.
Toopenpushinlockingdevicesandproceedinreverseorder.
4.Howtochangea port:
Matchupportwithbayonetmountonhousing:theredmarkontheportmust
pointupwards.Gentlyandevenlypushtheportontothemountuntilitreachesa
stop.Turnanticlockwiseuntilthewhitemarkpointsupwards.Protectfrontlenswit
cap.
5.Housingmaintenance:
Aftereachuseintheseaorinfreshwaterthehousingshouldbebrieflyrinsedoff
infreshwater,pressingfunctionskeysandoperatingleversatthesametime.
CleanhousingO-ringandportO-ringregularly.ForthispurposepushtheO-ring
onthelongsideofthehousingsothata loopisformed.CleantheO-ringaswell
asthegrooveandthejointfacewitha cleanandlint-freerag,lightlylubricate
withsiliconegreaseandreplaceO-rings.
Ifthehousingisstoredawayfora longerperiodoftime,theO-ringsshouldbe
removedfromthehousinggrooveandtheportandleftinsidethehousing.Aftera
fewdaysthehousingshouldbelightlysprayedwitha specialaluminiumcleaner
(provided)andrubbedinwitha rag.
After2 yearsor200diveswerecommendsendinginthehousingfora general
inspection.
