Introduction
The Motor cylinder is completely enclosed structure, consisting of n overlo d s fety device
( utom tic stroke setting) by ctu tion of compression spring, highly efficient le d screw,
fully closed type motor combined with precision reduction ge r unit.
Therefore, c reful h ndling of the Motor cylinder is necess ry.
Inspection nd checks
- Does the n mepl te m tch the order?
- Is there ny d m ge during tr nsport tion?
- Are ll tightening bolts f stened with sufficient force?
- In c se there re ny troubles, ple se check the model, seri l number, situ tion nd cont ct
us immedi tely.
1 2 Operation principle
The screw sh ft rot tes by the rot tion of the motor.
At this time, the Piston rod ssembled with the nut oper tes line r restr ining motion within
the set stroke r nge, nd the lo d reciproc tes in forw rd nd reverse rot tion of the motor.
According to type, the required movement speed c n be obt ined by djusting the pitch of the
screw nd the reduction r tio of the reduction ge r device.
1 3 Motor cylinder used
Used for elev ting nd lowering, reciproc ting, compression nd tr ction by line r motion
Compressing Stop
It c n lso be used for devices requiring continuous compressive force or pulling force by
the oper tion of built-in spring, nd c n be s fely stopped without mech nic l overlo d by
the oper tion of the spring nd the limit switch.
Ret ining Lo d
When the lo d is pplied even fter Motor cylinder in oper tion is stopped, there re two
w ys in which the lo d from the stop position c n be m int ined.
First, the w y to keep the screws locked on the br keless type.
Second, the w y of m int ining the lo d by the br king force by the br ke tt chment.
(Holding lo d ≥ Applied lo d ×1.2 )
Arbitr ry Stroke Setting
In the type with n extern l or intern l limit switch set, the stroke c n be rbitr ry set nd
used by djusting the position of the limit switch oper tion c m within the entire stroke r nge.
Inching Movement
When the Motor cylinder is inst lled or used, the inching movement on the stroke is lso

Stroke Setting
- ON-OFF Oper tion
When using the motor cylinder only for reciproc tion without stopping t the stroke midw y
point, n intern l overlo d s fety device c n be used s stopping function without
sep r te extern l limit switch.
In this c se, it is pplied to the opening nd closing of the d mper or the hopper nd stops
by pushing t the end of the stroke before nd fter the stroke.
Therefore, the stiffness of the stopper nd the rel ted p rt should be three times or more
th n the r ted lo d.
- Extern l limit switch
Within the stroke r nge of the Motor cylinder, the he ding direction c n be stopped in both
directions by the oper tion of the limit switch tt ched to the outside.
If the motor br ke is not tt ched, it is difficult to ccur tely stop t desired position due
to the rot tion l inerti .
If the br ke- tt ched type is used, the motor c n be stopped t more ccur te position.
C utions
The switch box of the thrust limiter unit nd the wire connections h ve been completely
tightened before shipment.
If they re loosened or dis ssembled t site, ple se completely tighten them.

Br ke structure nd m nu l oper tion
① Structure
This br ke is dry, non-excit tion type nd gener tes br king force when cutting off
the current.
It is composed of Yoke, fixed pl te, n Arm ture, fl nge disk, etc. The coil spring in
the Yoke pushes the rm ture strongly.
② Adv nt ges
M int in emergency br king t power f ilure, keep stopped for long time, prevention
of f lling of self-weight nd prevention of co sting.
No puls ting sound or shock, low frequency fric tive sound.
Due to the dry single pl te structure, there is lmost no dr g torque, there is no loss of
rot tion nd no he t gener tion.
Rot tion of the torque djusting ring llows wide r nge of br king torque to be set.
③ Oper tions
The coil spring in the Yoke lw ys pushes the rm ture when the power is cut off, nd
the fl nge disk is squeezed by the force b sed on the fixed pl te, nd the rot ting p rt
is br ked by the friction l force.
Conversely, when power is supplied to the electronic coil, the Arm ture is squeezed with
stronger force th n the spring bi sing force.
Therefore, sp ce is formed between the fl nge ring nd the Arm ture so th t the
rot ting p rt c n freely rot te.
④ M nu l oper tions
If the power is cut off nd the br ke is oper ting, remove the cover first nd then turn the
m nu l oper tion h ndle to the left by bout 1.5 to m ke m nu l oper tion.
Then, the sn p ring brings the Arm ture into close cont ct with the Yoke, cre ting g p
between the fl nge disk nd the Arm ture, nd llowing the rot ting p rt to rot te freely.
When returning to the origin l st te fter completing the m nu l oper tion, reverse it in
order.

2 3 ELECTRIC WIRING
Wiring method
In wiring the Motor cylinder give speci l c re to the following points
- Since the cylinder itself swings round the Trunnion sh ft during oper tion, it is prefer ble
to use flexible c btyre c bles for wiring.
- When the outdoor type is inst lled, the motor nd the br ke termin l box c n be ssembled
by rot ting them by 90 degrees, so th t it is prefer ble th t the electric wire outlet is inst lled
downw rd.
- In principle, it is not recommended to use flexible tube. If flexible tubes re un void bly
used, it should be completely w tertight, but the connection p rt should be se led with liquid
p cking (Three Bond No.2)

3 CAUTIONS BEFORE RUN
3 1 Cautions before operating
Power ph se
Inch the oper tion l switch to m ke sure if the Piston rod moves norm lly.
In c se the power ph se is reverse, it will move in the opposite direction.
At this time, when the Piston rod re ches the end of the stroke by supplying power to the
motor continuously, the overlo d s fety device does not work nd the motor is burned out.
Therefore, immedi tely switch it off nd repl ce two of the three wires on the power side.
Proper connection with M chine
Check if the side lo d is pplied to the Piston rod.
If it cts, it will c use d m ge such s we r of the rod.
Ple se check whether it is connected to the m chine p rt or excessive lo d is pplied.
Overlo d
When the Motor cylinder is used, if lo d h s re ched the limit or the l rge inerti body is
moved, the overlo d device m y be ctiv ted when the motor st rts. In this c se, reduce
the lo d.
Frequency in Use
The he t c p city of the motor cylinder is well fforded.
However, the oper tion l frequency will be limited bec use of its reciproc ting movement.
C lcul te the toler ble oper tion l frequency by using the following equ tion nd t ble:
It is recommended to set it lower th n the v lue shown in the ch rt below nd the def ult
