EK 3041-U
RF Wireless Systems | 3000 Series Miniature Receivers
The EK 3041-U is a miniature true diversity “slot-in” receiver designed for broad-
casting applications, especially for use with digital E G camcorders. Up to 32
switchable receiving frequencies within a switching bandwidth of max. 24 MHz
ensure highest flexibility. The frequency window can be chosen freely within the
UHF range (450 to 950 MHz), so that the EK 3041-U can be used legally world-
wide. It is suitable for multi-channel applications and fully compatible with any
UHF transmitter from the 3000 or 5000 series.
To enable the EK 3041-U to be used with a wide variety of cameras, Sennheiser
offers various adaptor and powering accessories. They include receiver adaptors for
direct insertion into the camcorder’s slot-in facility, a special housing for external
attachment to the camera and a battery adaptor for stand-alone operation:
j
If the EK 3041-U is to be used with the Sony, Ikegami, Panasonic or Philips camcor-
ders, simply provide the receiver with a GA 3041-15, GA 3041-25 or GA 3041-44
adaptor, respectively, then insert it into the camera’s integrated receiver slot.
o additional audio or power cables are required. The receiver is powered by the
rechargeable battery of the camcorder. The GA 3041-C housing is used for exter-
nally attaching the EK 3041-U to cameras without a slot-in facility. The slot-in
housing is fixed to the camcorder by means of self-adhesive Velcro tape. The
housing bottom is provided with an XLR-3 audio line output and a 4-pole Hirose
socket for external DC power supply.
j
If it is not possible to power the receiver by the camera battery, the GA 3041-B
battery adaptor can be used. Simply slide it over the GA 3041-C housing, connect
it and insert a B 50-1 / B 250-1 battery box or a BA 50-1 / BA 250-1 accupack.
With the GA 3041-C special housing and the GA 3041-B battery adaptor, the
EK 3041-U is also ready for use as a convenient beltpack receiver. In addition to
flexibility, reliable reception and universal use, the EK 3041-U offers straight-
forward, menu-assisted operation. Via the menu, you can adjust the RF squelch
thresh old, select a receiving frequency and assign it a channel number, activate or
deactivate the lock mode function (which avoids accidental switching off), adjust
the volume of the headphone output and switch the limiter on and off. The two
latter options have been integrated in view of a modular expansion of the system.
The multi-function LC display of the EK 3041-U indicates the chosen receiving
frequency or channel number and two bargraphs. The upper bargraph shows the
RF level, while the AF level is indicated by the lower bar. If the EK 3041-U is used
with a Sennheiser RF transmitter which transmits its battery status, the battery
capacity can be monitored on the display, too: when the capacity will only last for
about 20 to 30 minutes, a “bat.tr” warning will start flashing.
