Quick Start Guide: FlexRadio Cabinet
A FlexRadio Cabinet assembly requires a single FlexRadio Cabinet, omni directional
antenna, 6 foot coaxial cable, and the bracket/DIN mount kit.
FlexRadio Cabinet Installation Parts
FlexRadio Cabinet requires the following tools for installation:
•#2 Phillips bit screwdriver
•⅞in(2.22cm)holesaworstepdrillbitwithpowerdrill
•Hand wrench

Rail x 2
UsetheSensysNetworksprovidedDINorbracketmountstoinstalltheFlexRadioCabinetinsidethetraccabinet.

Installthenut(a)ontothethreaded
ferrule.Ensurethesideofthenutisush
against the top of the inside surface.
Add Nut
Drilla⅞in(2.22cm)diameterholeontopoftheat
surfaceofthetraccabinetwithaholesaworastepdrill
bit where the omni directional antenna will be installed.
Ensure the hole is deburred.
Note: Ensure the antenna hole location will not interfere
withtheinternalcomponentsofthetraccabinet.Ensure
thatthereissucientgroundplanefortheantenna.
Orient the antenna n in the general direction of
the repeaters.
Drill a Hole in Trafc Cabinet
3Install Omni Directional Antenna
Pass the connectors through the hole. Pull the cable
until the threaded end of the antenna ferrule appears
in the hole. DO NOT pull on connectors. Pulling on
the connectors may cause them to detach or may cause
internal damage to the cable connection.

These installation instructions only apply to ANT-CM-RAD.
Please refer to the antenna instructions provided in the
antenna packaging for more details.
Omni Directional Antenna Installation
Thetraccabinettopmustbea
horizontal surface and the antenna
area should be dry and clean of
debris before installing.

Connect Cables to the FlexRadio Cabinet

Connect the RP TNC male end to the
FlexRadio Cabinet’s RF connector.
WARNING: DO NOT OVER BEND
CABLE. Bend radius must be greater than
6in(15.2cm).
Connect the Antenna to FlexRadio Cabinet
Connect FlexRadio Cabinet to FlexControl Module using
CAT5(orbetter)straight-throughcablesbetweenTO: SPP
PORT on the FlexRadio Cabinet and the SPP-0 (or SPP-1)
port on the FlexControl Module.
Power FlexRadio Cabinet
Hand tighten the nut two more turns to secure the antenna and
to compress the antenna’s gasket. If the gasket is not seated,
continue tightening the nut until a seal is formed.
Secure Nut
Notice: Any violations will void the user’s authority to operate the
equipment. The customer may use an alternative external antenna.
However, the external antenna must have gain less than +6dBi to
meet regulatory requirements.
