DECTWaterDetector Installation Guide
Protectyour home from expensive leaksandWatersbyinstallingaWater Detectornearwater,heaters,drainpans,and
underneathsinks.TheWaterSensorissmall,easy-to-use,andfitsalmostanywhere.Sitthe sensor directlyonthe groundanditwill
notifyyouifitdetectsthepresenceofwater. Thewater sensor hasabuilt-inbuzzertomake audible alertswhenalarmsare
triggered. Withtwotypesofsensingprobes,thesensorcanbedeployedonthe groundor mountedonthe wall.

Initiateconnectingthedevicetothebase stationusingthe instructionsprovidedwithit
1. Remove thetopcover ofthedevice.
2. Remove theisolationtabofCR123Abattery.
3. TheLEDindicatorwill beblinkingblue attemptingtopair withthegatewayorbase station.
4. Ifnetworkisnotfoundafter90 seconds,the sensorwill go intosleepmode.To wakethe sensoragain,youneedto long
press the tamper buttonfor5secondstotriggertheparingprocess,andthensensorwill repeatstepsfromthestep3tostep4.
5. Followthedirectionspresentedbythe gatewayorbasestationtocompletepairing.Ifthesensor needstobe trippedin
order tocompletepairingawater detectioneventcanbesimulatedbybringingtheprobesintocontactwithmoisture.
6. Close topcover ofthedevice.
The Water Detectorcanbedeployedonthegroundormountedonthewall.
Ground Deployment
Whenthedeviceisdeployedontheground,theWater Detector detectswaterthroughtheprobesprotrudingfromitsback
cover.
1.PuttheWaterSensoronthe groundwiththebackcoverfacingdownward.
2.PossibleWaterSensorareasinclude:inthewater heatertray,inthe sumppump,atthetoiletbase,oratground-levelofthe
basement.
WallMounting
Whenthedeviceisdeployedonthewall,theWater Detector mustbeconnectedtotheexternalextensionprobe.
1.Usethe includedscrewtosecure themountingbracketto aclean, drysurfaceofthe wall.
2.Removethe waterproofplugthatcoverstheUSBinterface.
3.Connecttheextensionwaterprobe intothedeviceterminal.
4.Thetwosensorprobesattheendofthecable are closetothebase ofthe areatobemonitored(about1-2mmaway),orthe
probehousingislayingflatonthebaseofthe areatobemonitored.
5.In orderforthesensor towork,BOTHprobesmusthave contact withwater.Makesure bothprobetipsarepositioned
correctly.Usetheincludedadhesivepad/screwtosecure theprobehousingto aclean,drysurface.

1. TheLEDwill stayoffduringthenormaloperation.
2. Whentheprobescome intocontactwithwater,Water Detectorwill transmitalertinformationtothe Gateway.
3. Wheneverthe waterlevelsubsides,theWater Sensorwill transmitanalarmrestore signalandstopthealarm.
4. After the waterhassubsidedandtheprobesarenolongerincontactwithwater,the Water Detectorwill sendarestore
signalto the Gatewaytoindicate thewaterconditionhasbeenrestored.TheWater DetectorthenreturnstoNormal
OperationMode.
IfWaterDetector needsto resetto factorydefaulted(forexample,toprepare itforjoiningwithahome controllerorsecurity
system).
Reset toFactoryDefaults
1.OpenWaterDetector topcover.
2.Pressthetamperbuttonfor20secondsthenreleasethebutton.
3.TheBlue LEDwill beblinkingfor3secondswhenthedevice isresetsuccessfully.
4.Thesensorwill nowberesettofactorydefaultsandwill initiate pairingmode.
Note: ReplaceBatterywithCR123Aonly.Useofanother batterymaynegativelyimpacttheperformanceoftheproduct.
