TERMINATION INSTRUCTION

STAGE 2.
Slide the strain relief boot over the end of the cable
Using a cable stripper, strip the outer sheath approximately 50mm.

STAGE 4.
Remove the outer sheath.
Using flush cutters remove the rip cord.

Remove the foil shield.
STAGE 6.
Do NOT remove the drain wire, fold it back along the outer sheath out of the way.

STAGE 7.
Remove the clear plastic film.
STAGE 8.
Separate the conductor pairs from central spine.

STAGE 9.
Using flush cutters cut away the central spine.
STAGE 10.
Untwist all conductor pairs.

Using a straight edge, firmly straighten all conductors.
STAGE 12.
Ensure all conductors are completely straight – this is an important step

STAGE 13.
Using flush cutters, cut away excess conductor tails, leaving approximately 25mm length.

Identify the 90 degree and angled edge of the loading bar.

STAGE 15.
With the angled edge facing UP, insert the conductors into the loading bar, pin (1) starting on the left.
STAGE 16.
Leave 7-8mm between the edge of the loading bar and the outer sheath of the cable – This is an
important step.
NOTE: the loading bar is design to slide back toward the outer sheath approx 4mm when inserted into
the plug module.

STAGE 17.
Holding the loading bar in place with your finger, using flush cutters cut away conductor excess.
STAGE 18.
Using bull-nose pliers firmly compress and flatten the outer sheath, this will allow easy insertion into the
plug module.

STAGE 19.
Insert the cable and loading bar into the plug module. Ensure the loading bar angled edge is facing UP
STAGE 20.
Firmly push the cable into plug module, ensure the outer sheath has passed the crimp tool plenum
compression point.

STAGE 21.
Ensure all conductors a clearly visible at the tip of the plug module. Important step

Using an RJ45 modular crimp tool, insert the plug module into the RJ45 slot and crimp the connector.

STAGE 23.
Wind the drain wire around the cable clamp 2 -3 times to ensure good earth connection.
STAGE 24.
Using bull-nose pliers evenly compress the cable clamp around the outer sheath of the cable.

Slide the strain relief boot over the pug module.
