POWER SUPPLY
The pedal can be powered via an external power source (9VDC negative center pin). We
recommend to only use power sources regulated at 9VDC in order to avoid noises and a possible
malfunctions of the pedal.
RECOMMENDATIONS AND WARRANTY
The pedal is designed to be powered with 9VDC, any plug to other than specified voltage or the
use of AC sources will provoke damage to the pedal not covered by warranty. All Servus!Pedale
pedals are covered by a 2 years warranty valid from the date of purchase. This warranty against
any defects in materials and manufacture is transferable.
If the pedal shows any malfunctions during the warranty period just send it to the adress that
appears in this manual and it will be repaired at no charge (parts, labor and return shipping costs).
You are responsible to ship the pedal to us.
WELCOME
Thank you so much for purchasing an original Servus! Roots. This pedal is handmade and consists
only of high quality components. Please consider the following notes and instructions and over all -
have fun!

OVERDRIVE
Offers from a clean boost until an elegant distortion
-Level: Controls the output level of the overdrive.
-Gain: Controls de saturation produced by the effect.
-Bass and Treble: Classic two bands tone control.
TREMOLO
The optical tremolo is based in a vactrol optocoupler. The tromolo is digitally controlled in order to
obtain a major range of posibilites.
Mode control:
Push the Mode button to change between modes (tempo, waveform or subdivision).
Once a mode is selected turn the knob right or left to modify the parameter. Each step of the
rotary encoder corresponds to another parameter value.
Tempo mode: Once the tempo mode is selected turn the potentiometer to the right or left in
order to turn the tremolo speed up or down. If you keep turning the value will start to change
quicker. In order to obtain a more precise adjustment you have to turn the potentiometer slowlier.
The default value is 60 bpm (1 cicle per second)
Waveform mode: You can choose between four different waveforms. Each step of the
potentiometer corresponds to one of the four waveforms.

S bdivision mode: You can choose between ten different note subdivisions. Once the subdivision
mode is selected the potentiometer can be turned left or right in order to change subdivsions.
Here is a table of the available subdivisions:

Depth: This potentiometer affects the amount of the tremolo effect affecting the signal.
Reset defa lt: In order to reset the default value of each mode keep on pressing the mode button
during at least two seconds. If this is realized while being in the tempo mode the tempo will reset
to the last tapped tempo.
Tap tempo: In order to determine a certain tempo push the Tap Tempo switch at least twice in the
desired rhythm. The tempo will stick to the last two pushes.
Gain control: You can control the gain of the tremolo with the internal trimmer. By default the gain
is 1:1.
REVERB
The Roots’ Reverb offers a natural and clean reverb emulating the spring reverb units. With the pot
between 80 and 100% you will obtain an elegant modulated reverb.
This effect is always on the chain. If you do not wish to use it you will have to put the pot at 0 or
use the TREM OUT jack as the main output (for more details about connections check below).
CONEXIONES
The Roots offers independent IN and OUTs in each of the three effects. If you want to use all three
effects in chain just use the IN and OUT jacks.
If you want to use one, two or all three effects independently (as if you were using three
independent pedals) use their corresponding IN and OUTs.

Example: In this setup all three effects are in chain (OD->Tremolo->Reverb)
Example: In this setup you have the overdrive and tremolo in series. The reverb is connected to the
amp’s FX loop.
