-
Close the unit.
-
Let the grill heat up for about 5 minutes
without any food. This will remove the
smell typically encountered when first
switching on a grill. (A little smoke may
be emitted; this is quite normal, but
ensure there is sufficient ventilation.)
-
Open the unit and grease the cooking
plates lightly with a small amount of oil
or fat suitable for frying.
Operation
-
Insert the plug into a suitable wall outlet.
-
Use the control knob to choose the
desired temperature level.
-
Always leave the grill closed during the
heating up period.
-
The indicator light switches off once the
pre-set temperature level is reached.
●Place the fat collection tray underneath
the drainage point and ensure that the
tray is emptied as necessary.
●The non-stick cooking plates only need
to be slightly greased when first used.
-
The grill is now ready for use.
-
Place the items to be cooked into the
unit. The cooking or grilling time
depends largely on the nature of the food
concerned.
-
Possible applications:
a) Contact grilling, e.g. pork chops,
grilled sausage, sandwiches etc: the
upper cooking plate is placed right on
to the items to be grilled.
b) Gratin, e.g. toast dishes: pull the upper
cooking plate vertically upwards and
lower it again in a forward direction
into its horizontal position (see picture
I).
●In order to prevent the non-stick cooking
plates from being damaged, do not use
sharp or pointed objects while placing or
removing food items.
-
Should the cooking process be
discontinued or interrupted for a longer
period of time, use an absorbent cloth
(e.g. household paper) to remove any oil
or fat carefully from the cooking plates.
-
After cooking is completed, remove the
plug from the wall socket and allow
sufficient time for the unit to cool down
with the cooking plates open.
-
After the unit has completely cooled
down, lower the upper housing to its
horizontal position.
Power cord storage
During periods of non-use, the power cord
may be wound round the wind-up cable
storage underneath the lower part of the
housing.
Unwind the power cord completely before
operation.
Storage
The unit should be stored in its upright
position with the power cord wound up (see
picture IV).
General care and cleaning
●Before cleaning the appliance, remove
the plug from the wall socket and make
sure that the grill has cooled down
completely with the cooking plates open.
●To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the appliance with water and do
not immerse it in water.
●The outside of the grill may be cleaned
with a soft damp cloth only. Wipe dry
with a dry cloth afterwards.
-
Cleaning the non-stick cooking plates:
- Open the unit completely by lifting the
upper housing element and folding it all
the way back.
- Push the holding clamp near the plastic
handle towards the handle and lift up
the cooking plate.
- Lift the plate out in an upward
direction.
- Once removed, the cooking plates may
be cleaned with hot water using a mild
household detergent and a soft brush.
Do not attempt to scrape off any food
residues, and do not use abrasives or
