Please note that most laptops cannot be connected to the network and
may not be able to access the Internet. Contact Justin or David for more

1.0Initialsetup
1.1Besuretohavethedarkgraycablewhichhasbothmonitorand
speakerconnectionsoneachend,andwhichislabeledforlaptops
(kept on the podium in Room 111).
1.2Thelaptopshouldbekeptonorbythepodiumsothatthecablecan
easilyreachthewalljacks.
1.3Twowalljacksarebeneaththewhiteboardnearthepodium;oneis
labeledCPU1,theotherCPU2.Thesearethejackstoconnectthe
projectorstothelaptopusingthedarkgraycable.Eitherjackmaybe
used.
Thewalljackslabeled101D1and101D2arefornetworkconnections
andoftencannotbeusedwithlaptops.ContactJustinorDavid.
Plugthecomputer'spowercordintothewalloutlettotherightofthe
101D1and101D2jacks.
1.4Connectoneendofthedarkgraycabletothebackofthelaptop.
ConnecttheotherendtoCPU1orCPU2,andthespeakerport.

Note: remote control does not work well with fluorescent lights on.
5.1Taketheremotecontrol,pointittowardstheprojectoryou areusing,
andpressthebluebuttonontheupperleft-handcorner.Thisisthe
powerbutton.Itwilltakeuptoa minutefortheprojectortowarmup.
Therewillbebothsolidandflashinggreenlightsontheprojector.
5.2Oncethereare2 solidgreenlightsontheprojectorindicatingthatit
haswarmedup,you shouldseethecomputer'simageonthescreen-
iftheprojectorisnotwarmeduptherewillbenoimageonthescreen.
Iftheprojectoriswarmedupbutthereisstillnoimage,pressthe
buttonlabeledCOMPUTER.TrypressingCOMPUTERonceagainif
thereisstillnoimageonthescreen.
5.3Ifyou nolongerneedtheprojector,orifitwillbeturnedoffformore
than10minutes,pressthebluepowerbuttonontheremote.Thiswill
turnofftheprojector.Pleasenotethatyou cannotimmediatelyturnthe
projectorbackon.Ittakesa fewminutesforittocooldownandcan
beturnedbackonwhenyou seea solidredlightontheprojector.
***Totemporarily turn projector off, press MUTE onthe remote.
Projector will turn itself back automatically in 10 minutes, or when
you press MUTE again.
*** Ifimagesareonlybeingdisplayedoneitherthelaptoporthe
roomscreensbutyouwanttosimultaneouslydisplayanimage

The following additional steps are necessary only if audio output is
required (the speaker wire, which is attached to the cable kept on the
podium, needs to connected to either the CPU1 or CPU2 wall plate from
the workstation).

a)oneendtotheCOMPUTER1 INportonprojector
b)theotherendtotheextensioncableleadingtothemonitorportonthecpu.
1.4ConnectthemonitorcabletotheCOMPUTEROUTportontheprojector***.
***Use the beige extension cables kept onthe cart ifmore room isneeded between the
computer and the projector.
1.5Connecttheprojector'spowercordfromtheACINportontheprojectortothepower
striponthecart.
1.6Plugthepowerstripcordintoanoutletorintothepowerstriponthebackofthe
workstation.
1.7PowerONtocomputer.
1.8PowerontoMitsubishiintwosteps:
a)turnonMAINpowerswitchonsideofprojector,/f^s
b)pressthepowerbuttononthetopoftheprojector%uj) orthebluepowerbutton
ontheremote.Note that the remote will not work well with the fluorescent lights on.
1.9Afterturningontheprojectoryouwillseea solidanda flashinggreenlightonitstop
indicatingthattheprojectoriswarmingup(takesabout1 minute).Whenbothlights
aresolidgreen,thentheprojectoriswarmedupandyoushouldseethecomputer's
imageonthescreen- iftheprojectorisnotwarmeduptherewillbenoimageonthe
screen.Iftheprojectoriswarmedupbutthereisstillnoimage,pressthebutton
labeledCOMPUTER.TrypressingCOMPUTERonceagainifthereisstillnoimage
onthescreen.
2.0AdjustingHeightandFocus
2.1Theheightoftheprojectedimageisadjustableusingthetwo"feet"atthefront ofthe
projectorwhichwilldropdownbypressingtheblackbuttonsonthefront.The"feet"
canalsobemoved byscrewing/unscrewingthem.
2.2ToFOCUSfollowthesesteps:
a)OneitherthetopoftheprojectorortheremotepressZOOM/ FOCUSwhich
togglesbetweenthezoomfunctionandfocus.SelectFOCUS.
b)AfterselectingFOCUSuse- + tosharpentheimage.

3.0RemoteControlAdditionalFeatures(Remote should bewith the projector)

3.1Ifyounolongerneedtheprojector,orifitwillbeturnedoffformorethan10minutes,

the Lab's PC and Mac mobile workstations.

cart'sbasket.Each mobile workstation has its own set oflabeled
cables for 111.

This provides power to all ofthe components in the console, and to the ceiling
speakers. It does not control power to the projector. The volume knobs control
the ceiling speakers.

The Receiver works in tandem with the Switcher (see next step) where you

bluebuttonontheupperleft-handcorner.Thisisthepowerbutton.Itwilltake upto
aminutefortheprojectortowarmup.Therewillbebothsolidandflashinggreen
lightsontheprojector.
7.2Oncethereare2 solidgreenlightsontheprojectorindicatingthatithaswarmedup,
pressthebuttonlabeledVIDEO.Iftheprojectorisnotwarmedupitwillnotcomeon.
TrypressingVIDEOonceagainiftheprojectoriswarmedupbutthereisstillno
imageonthescreen.
7.3Ifyounolongerneedtheprojector,orifitwillbeturnedoffformorethan10minutes,
pressthebluepowerbuttonontheremote.Thiswillturnofftheprojector.Please
notethatyoucannotimmediatelyturntheprojectorbackon.Ittakes a fewminutes

forittocooldownandcanbeturnedbackonwhenyouseea solidredlightonthe
projector.
To temporarily turn projector off, press MUTE on the remote. Projector will
turn itself back automatically in 10 minutes, or when you press MUTE again.
