•The simplicity of the ShotTrack unit is the key to
success. After the holes have been prepared
there are 5 easy steps to remember
•Battery condition should have been checked
already
•100 % is good for 10 hours
Using the ShotTrack VoD305
•Turn the unit ON
•Press the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds until it
illuminates Blue.
•Release the button and it will start to flash Red
•The current battery condition will be shown as a
percentage
•The display will flash this value for 5 seconds.
•After the battery condition is shown the current
calibration factor is displayed.
•The display will flash this value for 5 seconds.
•The unit will now display 0000 which is the no cable
default. If the unit is being used in a completely
different location than before it might be prudent to
allow an extended period to make sure a GPS fix can be
acquired to set the (RTC) Real Time Clock if so then the
unit can be left in this condition for 5 to 10 minutes to
ensure a stable GPS fix and update the RTC.
•Connect the cable to the unit
•The display will change to the cable length.
•If the displayed length is not what is expected give or
take a couple of meters then there is a cable error. This
will more than likely be due to an incorrect cable
calibration or suspect connector.
•The unit will now set itself after five minutes and the
display will extinguish.
•The button will change to a steady RED illumination.
After the trigger
•The unit will attempt to recover from a momentary
disconnection of an intermittent
connector or
temporary distortion of cable. For example, if a truck
runs over the cable and the cable later recovers.
oAfter a trigger event is detected the unit will check
10 seconds after the data has been saved to see if
the cable has returned to its original length.
oIf this is the case it will reset itself and wait for a
further trigger event.
Shut Down procedure
•After the above conditions have been checked the unit
will enter a 15 minute “wait for Bluetooth
communication” period.
•The button will flash briefly RED once every 30 seconds.
•If during this period, a Bluetooth connection is made
the unit will connect to the application.
•The data just recorded can be downloaded if required.
•If no communications have been received in 15 minutes
the unit switches itself off.
•Pressing the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds until button
illuminates BLUE will switch the unit of in this wait
period.
Additional information on the optional repeat
function:
In some circumstances it is advantageous to have the unit
reset itself after it has triggered. This is an optional feature
and must be specially enabled. Please contact ShotTrack if
this option is required.
•Repeat further tests.
oIf the unit had been set to one or more repeat
recordings, then the unit will re-set itself with the
new cable length as the starting point and a new
trigger length calculated.
oThe unit will then await a further trigger and save
that data.
oThis will carry on until all repeats have been done.
