Your Simplicity remote control is simple to program, easy to use, and can operate two (2) devices, which include:
Cable set-top terminals,
Televisions.
Before you can use your remote control, it must be programmed (set-up) to operate the above devices.
Follow the instructions in Sections 3 and 4 below to program your Cable & TV devices.
lnstall two (2) new «AA» batteries as indicated by the diagram in the battery compartment.
When the indicator light becomes dim or no longer illuminates during use, install two (2) new «AA» size batteries.
Your remote control has Memory Guard, which eliminates reprogramming after battery changes.
Your Simplicity remote control supports the newest set-top terminals from your Cable TV provider, but may come pre-programmed
to a specific brand. To program your remote to operate your Cable set-top terminal, look up the brand and model in the Cable
Setup Code list. If you are not sure of your brand and model, contact your Cable TV provider.
Programming your terminal
1. Press SEL/OK, then MUTE buttons together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. From the Cable Setup Code list, locale and enter the 4-digit code for your brand and model.
3. Press SEL/OK to lock in code. The indicator light will blink and go out. Write your CABLE setup code: _______________.

4. Programming your TV
5. TV learning feature
If you are unable to locate a setup a code for your TV, you can program each TV key individually on your remote.
To program your TV by learning, follow these steps:
1. Press TV POWER, then RECORD buttons together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Position the Simplicity remote and your TV remote face-up on a flat surface about 1-2" apart so that their IR transmitters are
facing one another.
3. Press TV POWER on your Simplicity remote. The indicator light will blink and remain illuminated.
4. Press POWER on your TV remote. The indicator light on the Simplicity remote will blink once and remain illuminated.
5. Press POWER on the TV remote again. The indicator light on the Simplicity remote will blink twice and remain illuminated.
6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 for any additional TV keys you would like to learn.
7. Press and hold SEL/OK for at least 3 seconds to lock in the learned TV data. The indicator light will blink and go out.
To clear specific learned keys, follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously TV POWER and EXIT together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press the learned TV key(s) you want to clear.
3. Press and hold SEL/OK for at least 3 seconds. The indicator light will blink and go out. The selected keys are now cleared
and will transmit the data respective to the most recent TV code programmed before the keys were learned.
Code entry method
1. Turn on the TV you want your remote to operate.
2. Press SEL/OK, then MUTE buttons together until the indicator light illuminates.
3. Locale the 1st 4-digit code for your brand in the TV Setup Code list and enter it on the keypad of the remote control. Entry of
the correct TV code will cause your TV to turn off. If multiple codes are listed for your brand, you may have to enter several
codes until your TV turns off.
4. As soon as you enter a 4-digit code that turns your TV off, press MUTE.
a. If your TV turns back on, press SEL/OK to lock in the code indicator light will blink and go out.
b. If your TV does not turn back on, enter a different 4-digit code until your TV turns back on.
Then press SEL/OK to lock in the code. The indicator light will blink and go out.
Point and Press method
1. Turn on the TV you want your remote to operate.
2. Press SEL/OK, then MUTE buttons together until the indicator light illuminates.
3. Press and hold the CH button until your TV turns off. While pressing the CH button, the indicator light will blink. As
soon as your TV turns off, release CH .
4. Press MUTE. If your TV:
a. Turns back on, press SEL/OK to lock in the code. The indicator light will blink and go out.
b. Does not turn back on, press CH one step at a time until your TV turns back on. Each time you press the CH button,
the indicator light will blink. Once you have found a code that turns your TV on/off, press SEL/OK to lock in the code. The
indicator light will blink and go out. Write your TV setup code: _________________________.

To clear all learned keys, follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously TV POWER and STOP together until the indicator light blinks and goes out. All learned keys are
now cleared.
When you first program your remote, volume and mute are controlled through your TV.
To control volume/mute through your terminal, follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously CBL POWER and SEL/OK together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press VOL , then CBL POWER for CABLE volume. The indicator light will blink and go out.
To program volume control on your TV, follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously CBL POWER and SEL/OK together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press VOL , then TV for TV volume. The indicator light will blink and go out.
To program the CBL POWER button to turn your cable set-top terminal and TV on/off with one button
press, follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously CBL POWER and MENU together until the indicator light blinks twice. The CBL POWER button will
now send the terminal power signal followed by the TV power signal.
To return to default CBL POWER setting of sending only the terminal power signal, repeat steps 1-2 above.
When you first program your remote control, it will control channels (0- 9, CH / , Last) through your terminal.
If you don’t have a terminal and wish to control channels (0 - 9, CH /, Last) through your TV, follow
these steps:
1. Press simultaneously CBL Power and MUTE together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press 9, 9, 9. Each time you enter a 9, the indicator light will blink green and remain illuminated.
3. When you enter the 3rd digit 9, the indicator light will blink and go out.
To return channel control to your Cable set-top terminal, follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously CBL Power and MUTE together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press 0, 0, 0. Each time you enter a 0, the indicator light will blink red and remain illuminated.
3. When you enter the 3rd digit 0, the indicator light will blink and go out.

To limit the number of terminal functions your Simplicity remote operates to (0-9, CH /), Last and Fav,
follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously CBL Power and MUTE together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press 8, 8, 8. Each time you enter a 8, the indicator light will blink red and remain illuminated.
3. When you enter the 3rd digit 8, the indicator light will blink and go out.
To return full functionality to your Cable set-top terminal, follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously CBL Power and MUTE together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press 0, 0, 0. Each time you enter a 0, the indicator light will blink red and remain illuminated.
3. When you enter the 3rd digit 0, the indicator light will blink and go out.
The INPUT button changes the input source of your devices. ln the remote’s default setting (Cable mode), this button changes
the input source (Input 1, Input 2....) on your TV set.
To program INPUT to operate the input function on your terminal, follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously INPUT and SEL/OK together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press CBL POWER. The indicator light will blink and go out.
To program INPUT to operate the input function on your TV, follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously INPUT and SEL/OK buttons together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press TV POWER. The indicator light will blink and go out.
To identify the 4-digit TV setup code stored under the Point and Press method....
1. Press simultaneously TV POWER and SEL/OK together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press INFO to identify your TV setup code. The indicator light will «blink back» the code numbers, with a 1-second interval
between each digit of the code.
Example: For code 0035, the indicator light will blink 6 times rapidly, 6 times rapidly, then 3 times slowly, then 5 times slowly.
To reset your Simplicity remote control to its default settings, follow these steps:
1. Press simultaneously CBL Power and SEL/OK together until the indicator light illuminates.
2. Press 1. The indicator light will blink and go out.

The VOD button is pre-programmed to access your cable provider’s video on demand menu.
13. Video on demand (available where technology permits)
1. Your remote has a Point and Press Programming label on the back of its case. This will help you quickly program the remote
without using codes.
2. Your remote is equipped with an indicator light which will illuminate in green when the remote is operating a function on your
TV and red when the remote is operating a function on your cable set-top terminal.
3. The indicator light will remain illuminated while the remote is in a programming mode. ln the absence of an entry, the
indicator light will go out alter 30 seconds.
4. When locking in your devices, the indicator light will blink and go out.
5. When using the Point and Press programming method, you may find a code that turns your TV off but not back on. If this
happens:
a.The correct code has not been found. Continue pressing CH until your TV turns on and off.
b.You may have gone past the correct matching code. Try pressing CH one step at a time until you find a code that turns
your TV on.
6. Time Out - If the same button is pressed and held for 30 seconds, your remote control will turn itself off automatically. This
extends battery life should the remote become lodged under or between heavy objects, for example sofa cushions.
7. If you have any questions concerning the operation of your terminal, contact your cable provider.
