●This tool is intended for lengthways and crossways
cutting of wood with straight cuts as well as angle cuts to
45°; with the appropriate saw blades also non-ferrous
metals, light building materials and plastics can be cut

SAFETY
●Read and save this instruction manual (pay special
attention to the safety instructions at the back) 2
●Check voltage indicated on nameplate of tool/charger/
battery
●In case of electrical or mechanical malfunction,
immediately switch off the tool or unplug charger from
power source
●Avoid damage that can be caused by screws, nails and
other elements in your workpiece; remove them before
you start cutting
●When you put away the tool, switch off the motor and
ensure that all moving parts have come to a complete
standstill
●SKIL can assure flawless functioning of the tool only
when original accessories are used
●Before using accessories always compare the maximum
allowed speed of that specific accessory with the speed
of the tool
●Never use the tool without the original protection guard
system
●This tool should not be used by people under the age of
16 years
●The noise level when working can exceed 85 dB(A);
wear ear protection
●This tool is not suitable for wet cutting
●The kerf guide has to be adjusted in case different
diameters of sawblade are used
●Do not use a circular saw blade which is cracked,
deformed or dull
●Do not use a circular saw blade of which the body
thickness is bigger, or the teeth setting is smaller than
the thickness of the kerf guide
●After switching off your circular saw, never stop the
rotation of the saw blade by a lateral force applied
against it
●Never clamp or wedge the lower guard in open position;
ensure that it operates freely
●Never use circular saw blades made of high speed steel
(HSS)
●Only use thin saw blades designed for cordless circular
saws
●Never use grinding/cutting discs with this tool
●Do not remove the kerf guide
●Keep hands away from the saw blade while the tool
is in use
●Do not cut material containing asbestos
●Do not attempt to cut extremely small workpieces
●Remove all obstacles on top of as well as underneath
the cutting path before you start cutting
●Do not work overhead with the tool
●Do not activate switch when carrying the tool
●Always remove battery from tool before making any
adjustment or changing any accessory, in order to
reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally
CHARGING/BATTERIES
●Charge battery only with the charger that is supplied with
the tool
●Do not charge batteries of other manufacturers
●Do not touch the contacts in the charger
●Do not expose tool/charger/battery to rain
●Do not not carry or suspend the charger by the cord
●Never charge battery outdoors 3
●Store tool/charger/battery in locations where temperature
will not exceed 40° C or drop below 0°
●Batteries will explode in fire, so do not burn battery for
any reason
●When damaged, and under extreme usage and
temperature conditions, batteries may start to leak
-if liquid comes into contact with the skin, wash quickly
with soap and water, then with lemon juice or vinegar
-if liquid gets into the eyes, flush eyes with clean water
for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek immediately
medical attention
●When battery is not in tool or charger, it should be kept
away from metal objects such as nails, screws, keys etc.
to prevent short-circuit
●Do not use charger when damaged; take it to one of the
officially registered SKIL Service Stations for a safety
check
●Do not use charger when cord or plug is damaged; cord
or plug should be replaced immediately at one of the
officially registered SKIL Service Stations
●Do not use battery when damaged; it should be replaced
immediately
●Do not disassemble charger or battery
●Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries
with the charger
WHEN CONNECTING NEW 3-PIN PLUG (U.K. ONLY):
●Do not connect the blue (= neutral) or brown (= live) wire
in the cord of the charger to the earth terminal of the plug
●If for any reason the old plug is cut off the cord of the
charger, it must be disposed of safely and not left
unattended
USE
USE OF BATTERY
●Always remove battery from tool before making any
adjustment or changing any accessory, in order to
reduce the risk of starting the tool accidentally 4

-insert battery correctly into charger, so that it makes
contact and is not hindered by foreign objects
