1 Product Description
The mini-UPS backup battery module (UPS: Uninteruptable Power Supply) is intended for mounting
in a 278, 278A, 378 emergency opening unit. At 230 V mains failure this means max. five minutes'
battery backup of a climate computer. This neutralizes any nuisance from short interruptions of the
mains supply during which the climate computer would normally restart.
The mini-UPS can only work together with the following house computers: DOL 539, DOL 534, DOL
234F, DOL 339, DOL 234, Viper Touch, 235Pro, 135Pro, Viper, MC 235 and MC 135.

2.1 Electrical Connection
See section, 5 Tilslutningsdiagram/ Connection Diagram/ Schaltplan
Installation, service and troubleshooting of electrical equipment must be carried out by
expert staff in compliance with applicable national regulations –in Europe, this would
be EN 60204-1 or other current EU regulations.
The installation of a supply separator is required for each motor and power supply, so
maintenance of electrical equipment can be carried out in a dead environment. Supply
seperator is not supplied by SKOV A/S.
Check and remove prohibited/ unauthorised, connected loads from the 24 V connection
terminals of the climate computer, if any, in case the mini-UPS does not work.
2.2 Mounting/Connection of Mini-UPS
1) Disconnect the power (230 V) to the climate computer and the emergency opening unit.
2) Remove the cover from the climate computer and the emergency opening unit, respectively.
3) Mount the mini-UPS in the emergency opening with the four manufacturer-supplied screws.
4) Connect wires according to connection diagram, see section 5.
5) The alarm output can be connected to an alarm system but is not required as regards functional
performance.
6) Reconnect the power (230 V).
2.3 Testing the Mini-UPS
1) Check that the GREEN lamp on the mini-UPS module is on.
2) Disconnect the power (230 V).
a) Check that:
•RED lamp flashes on the mini-UPS module and it beeps every ten seconds.
•The display of the climate computer remains on.
3) Reconnect the power (230 V).
a) Check that the GREEN lamp on the mini-UPS module is turned on again.
4) Attach the cover on the climate computer and the emergency opening unit, respectively.
IMPORTANT:
Check and remove prohibited/ unauthorised, connected loads from the 24 V connection
terminals of the climate computer, if any, in case the mini-UPS does not work.
