TuneUps™ offers incredible in-helmet stereo sound
plus Bluetooth LINK™ technology from Skullcandy™
that allows you to hard-line to your music player while
connecting to any Bluetooth enabled phone wirelessly.
A simple touch answers incoming calls while one more
disconnects you and gets your music back online.

BT LINK CONTROLS
1. Multi-function Logo Button - Used to answer and end
calls. Also used to turn the BT LINK on and off.
2. Volume Control Dial - Allows you to increase or
decrease volume for music or calls.
3. 2.5mm Headset Jack - Allows you to connect to a
music source.
SAFETY INFORMATION
WARNING
For use with Giro snowsports helmets only. Use of these
or other headphones in snowsports may cause the rider/
skier to not hear approaching riders/skiers. This can lead
to an accident and possible injury or death. Headphones
will also restrict your ability to hear what your edge/
edges are doing on the snow, which may lead to less
control. Headphones may distract you from focusing on
riding or skiing safely.
Remember Your Responsibilities
Always stay in control. People ahead of you have the
right of way. Stop in a safe place for you and others.
Whenever starting downhill or merging, look uphill and
yield. Look before you leap. Use devices to help prevent
runaway equipment. Observe signs and warnings.
Keep off closed trails. Know how to use the lifts safely.
Respect gets respect.

4. 3.5mm Headset Jack - Allows you to connect to your
helmet or your own personal headphones.
5. Microphone - Used when placing and receiving calls
6. Charging Port - When charging, one end of the USB
cable should be inserted into this port.
GETTING STARTED
Before you can use the BT LINK, you must do
the following:
1. Charge the BT LINK’s internal battery
2. Pair the BT LINK with your Bluetooth phone.
3. Attach the BT LINK to your helmet or headphones.
4. Attach a music source to your BT LINK.
Charging the BT LINK’s Internal Battery
First-time Use – Before you can use your BT LINK, you
need to charge its internal battery fully for at least two
hours. Perform these steps to charge your BT LINK:
1. Plug the included 2.0 USB cable into a high-power
USB port on your computer
Note: The USB port on your keyboard doesn’t provide
enough power. You must connect BT LINK to a
USB port on you computer.

2. Connect the other end into your BT LINK
While charging, the LED will ash red. When charge is
completed, the indicator will turn off.
3. When charging completes (indicators off), unplug the
cord from the computer, and your BT LINK.
Note:
• Low voltage indication: 2 tones from the headset every
30 seconds and LED will ash red. It is recommended
to charge the headset immediately after low voltage
indication to prolong the durability of the battery and
standby time. Under low voltage, if the battery is not
charged within approximately 30 seconds, the headset
will be powered off.
• Charging indication will be delayed for a few minutes
if the headset has not been used for a long time or the
battery is drained.

Pairing Your BT LINK and Bluetooth Phone
You must pair (link) your BT LINK and your Bluetooth-
enabled phone before you can make or receive calls.
“Pairing” links two Bluetooth equipped devices, and
allows your phone to remember your BT LINK’s unique
ID. After your BT LINK and phone are paired, your BT
LINK automatically connects to your phone when you
turn it on. Perform these steps to pair (link) your phone
and BT LINK:
1. Turn on the Bluetooth power on your phone. Bluetooth
power option may be OFF by default. Bluetooth power
must be ON to search for devices. Refer to your phone’s
user guide.
2. Put your BT LINK into pairing mode. With your BT
LINK off, press and hold the Logo Button until the LED
alternately ashes blue and red (about 5 seconds).
3. Set your phone to look for your BT LINK, and select
“BTLink-SK/Giro” from the device list. Press OK and
YES to pair (link) the device. Enter the passkey “0000”
and press OK. Your BT LINK’s ID is now stored in your
phone’s memory.
When your BT LINK is successfully paired with your
phone the LED will ash blue 5 times followed by a long
tone.

Connecting the BT LINK to Your Helmet or
Headphones
Connecting the BT LINK to your helmet
Perform these steps to connect your BT LINK to
your helmet.
1. Open the audio pocket on each earpad, remove the
round pieces of foam padding, and slip in our Audio
Drops speakers.
2. Slip the short headset jack from the speakers through
the hole at the bottom of either earpad.
Note: If you purchased a Giro Audio Series Helmet
already equipped with Audio Drops speakers,
please skip to Step 4.
3. Tuck the audio wire connecting both speakers either
under the padding inside the back of the helmet or inside
the neckroll pocket, depending on the helmet model.
4. Connect your BT LINK to the Audio Drops speakers
using the 3.5mm/3.5mm stereo audio cable. Tuck the
headset jack back up into the earpad, if desired.

USING YOUR BT LINK
Turning Your BT LINK On and Off
To turn you BT LINK on, press and hold the Logo button
for approximately 3 seconds until the LED ashes on for
one second and you hear a short tone.
To turn you BT LINK off, press and hold the Logo button
for approximately 5 seconds until the LED ashes on for
one second and you hear a long tone.
Connecting the BT LINK to your
personal headphones
You can simply connect your headphones to the 3.5mm
headset jack on the BT LINK
Connecting Your BT LINK to a Music Source
To listen to music, connect your music source to
the headset jack using the 2.5mm-to-3.5mm stereo
audio cable included with your BT LINK. Connect the
music source to the BT LINK module using the 2.5mm
connector.

You can activate call functions for the Handsfree Prole
according to the following:
1. Make a Call (Voice Dial): With the phone on in idle,
press the Logo button once, wait for a short tone, speak
name, and the phone dials the call.
2. Make a Call (Hand Dial): With the phone on, enter the
phone number on the phone, press the Send key on the
phone, and the phone dials the call.
3. Redial Last Number: With the phone in idle, press
the Logo button twice within 1 second, it will recall the
last number.
4. End a Call: With the phone on and in-call, press the
Logo button once.
5. Receive (Answer) a Call: With the phone on and
ringing, press the Logo button once.
6. Reject a Call: With the phone on and ringing, press
and hold the Logo button 3 seconds.
Making Calls with your BT LINK
Your BT LINK supports both Handsfree and Headset
Proles. Accessing call functions depends on which
prole your phone supports.
Note:
• Some phones do not support all features listed. See
your phone’s user guide.
• Music playing from the music source is muted when
placing or receiving calls, and unmated when the call
is nished.
• You can control the volume while in a call using the
volume dial on the BT module.

Listening to Music with your BT LINK
The following functions are supported while playing
music from a music source.
1. Adjust Music Volume: Turn Volume Control Dial up
(to increase volume) or down (to decrease volume)
2. Mute/Unmute Music: Press the Logo button once.

CARE AND HANDLING
• Consider turning your BT LINK off before placing
it in your pocket or bag. If the Button is accidentally
depressed, your mobile handset may place an
unintended call.
• Do not attempt to clean or disinfect your helmet with
TuneUps earpads installed.
• Do not expose the BT LINK to liquid, moisture or
humidity, as it is not waterproof.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning solvents to clean
the BT LINK.
• Do not place the BT LINK in high temperature,
as it will result in an explosion.
• Do not expose the BT LINK to contact with sharp
objects as this will cause scratching and damage.
• Do not stick anything inside the BT LINK as this may
damage internal components.
• Do not attempt to disassemble the BT LINK, as it does
not contain serviceable components.
• If you do not use the BT LINK for long periods, be sure
to store it in a dry place, free from extreme temperature,
humidity and dust.
• Only use the manufacturer supplied USB cable when
charging the BT LINK.
• Only charge the BT LINK’s built-in battery in
accordance with the instructions of this user guide.
• Avoid charging the BT LINK in extremely high or
low temperatures.

WARRANTY
If your TuneUps are found to be defective in materials or
workmanship within a period of one year from the date
of original purchase, Giro will, at its sole option, either
repair or replace them free of charge. Just take them to
the dealer from which they were purchased, with a letter
indicating the specic reason you’re returning them, and
proof of date of purchase.
Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any
implied warranty of merchantability or tness for a
particular purpose is limited in duration to the above one
year period. This warranty does not apply to defects
or physical damage resulting form abuse, neglect,
improper repair, improper t or installation, alterations,
or use unintended by the manufacturer. This warranty is
in lieu of all other agreements and warranties, general
or special, express or implied and no representative or
person is authorized to assume liability on behalf of Giro

INFORMATIONS SUR LA SÉCURITÉ
AVERTISSEMENT
À n’utiliser qu’avec les casques de ski Giro. L’utilisation
d’autres casques d’écoute ou de TuneUps aux sports
d’hiver peut empêcher le rider ou skieur d’entendre
l’arrivée d’autres riders ou skieurs pouvant entraîner un
accident et des blessures graves, voire mortelles. Les
casques diminuent aussi votre capacité d’entendre la
manière dont vous négociez les virages dans la neige
détériorant ainsi votre maîtrise. Les casques peuvent
vous distraire, vous empêchant de vous concentrer à
glisser ou skier en toute sécurité.

Vos responsabilités
Gardez toujours la maîtrise de soi sur la planche ou
les skis. Les personnes devant vous sont prioritaires.
Arrêtez-vous toujours à un endroit sûr pour vous et
les autres personnes. Avant de descendre ou à une
interception, regardez autour de vous (en amont et sur
les côtés). Regardez autour de vous avant de sauter.
Utilisez un équipement de sécurité pour éviter que votre
équipement ne s’éloigne de vous. Respectez toujours
les panneaux de signalisation et les avertissements.
N’empruntez pas de pistes fermées. Soyez prudent
lorsque vous montez sur un remonte-pente. Si vous
respectez les autres, les autres vous respecteront.
BT LINK CONTROLS
1. Bouton de logo Multifonction - Utilisé pour répondre
ou terminer un appel. Utilisé aussi pour allumer
ou éteindre le BT LINK.
2. Bouton de volume - Permet d’augmenter ou de
diminuer le volume de la musique ou d’un appel.
3. Prise de casque de 2,5 mm - Permet de connecter un
baladeur.

PRÉPARATION
Avant toute utilisation du système BT LINK, vous devez
suivre ces instructions:
1. Charger la batterie interne du BT LINK
2. Synchroniser le BT LINK avec votre téléphone
Bluetooth.
3. Connecter le BT LINK au casque ou écouteurs.
4. Connecter un baladeur au BT LINK.
Charge de la batterie interne du BT LINK
Première utilisation – avant de pouvoir utiliser le BT
LINK, vous devez charger complètement la batterie
interne pendant au moins deux heures. Veuillez suivre
les instructions ci-dessous pour charger le BT LINK:
1. Branchez le câble USB 2.0 inclus dans le port USB
haute alimentation de l’ordinateur.
Remarque: Le port USB du clavier n’a pas assez de
puissance pour la charge. Vous devez connecter BT
LINK au port USB de l’ordinateur.

2. Connectez l’autre che au BT LINK Pendant la
charge, le témoin DEL clignote en rouge. Une fois la
charge terminée, ce témoin s’éteint.
3. Lorsque la charge est terminée (témoins éteints),
débranchez le câble de l’ordinateur, et du BT LINK.
Remarque:
• Indication de faible charge : 2 tonalités dans le casque
sont émises toutes les 30 secondes et le témoin DEL
clignote en rouge. Il est conseillé de charger le casque
immédiatement dès l’indication de faible charge an
de prolonger la durabilité de la batterie et le temps
d’inactivité. Lorsque la charge est faible, si la batterie
n’est pas mise en charge dans les 30 secondes qui
suivent, le casque s’éteint.
• L’indication de charge sera prolongée de quelques
minutes si le casque n’a pas été utilisé pendant
longtemps ou que la batterie est complètement
déchargée.

Synchronisation du BT LINK et d’un
téléphone Bluetooth
Vous devez synchroniser (relier) le BT LINK et un
téléphone activé Bluetooth avant de pouvoir passer
ou recevoir des appels. La “synchronisation” connecte
deux dispositifs Bluetooth et permet au téléphone
de mémoriser l’ID unique de BT LINK. Une fois la
synchronisation de BT LINK et du téléphone établie,
le BT LINK se connecte automatiquement lorsque le
téléphone est allumé. Veuillez suivre les instructions
ci-dessous pour synchroniser le téléphone et le
BT LINK:
1. Activez la fonction Bluetooth du téléphone. La fonction
Bluetooth peut être DÉSACTIVÉE par défaut. La
fonction Bluetooth doit être ACTIVÉE pour rechercher
les autres dispositifs.
Reportez-vous au manuel de l’utilisateur du téléphone.
2. Placez le BT LINK en mode de synchronisation.
Avec le BT LINK éteint, appuyez sur le bouton de logo
et maintenez-le enfoncé jusqu’à ce que témoin DEL
clignote en bleu puis en rouge (environ 5 secondes).
3. Réglez le téléphone sur rechercher le BT LINK et
sélectionnez “BTLink-SK/Giro” sur la liste de dispositifs.
Appuyez sur OK ou OUI pour synchroniser le dispositif.
Entrez le code “0000” et appuyez sur OK. L’ID du BT
LINK est mémorisé dans la mémoire du téléphone.
Une fois le BT LINK synchronisé avec le téléphone,
le témoin DEL clignote en bleu 5 fois suivi d’une
longue tonalité.

Connexion du BT LINK au casque ou écouteurs
Connexion du BT LINK au casque
Suivez les étapes ci-dessous pour connecter le BT LINK
à votre casque.
1. Ouvrez la poche Audio de l’oreillette, retirer la pièce
de mousse ronde et glissez à l’intérieur les écouteurs
amovibles.
2. Glissez le petit jack des écouteurs au travers du trou
à la base de chacune des oreillettes.
Note: Si vous avez acheté un casque Giro série Audio
pré-équipé d’écouteurs, passez à l’étape 4.
3. Enlez le cable audio liant les 2 oreillettes sous la
protection mousse interne à l’arrière du casque ou à
l’intérieur de la poche derrière la nuque, selon le modèle
de casque.
4. Connectez votre BT LINK aux écouteurs amovibles
avec le cable stereo 3,5mm à 3,5mm. Enlez le jack du
casque dans l’oreillette si vous le désirez.

Connexion du BT LINK à des écouteurs
Vous pouvez connecter rapidement vos écouteurs à la
prise de casque 3,5 mm du BT LINK
Connexion de BT LINK à un baladeur
Pour écouter de la musique, connectez le baladeur
à la prise de casque avec le câble audio stéréo 2,5 mm
à 3,5 mm livré avec le BT LINK. Connectez le baladeur
au module BT LINK avec le connecteur de 2,5 mm.
UTILISATION DU BT LINK
Mise sous et hors tension du BT LINK
Pour allumer le BT LINK, appuyez sur le bouton de logo
puis maintenez-le enfoncé pendant environ 3 secondes,
jusqu’à ce que le témoin DEL clignote toutes les
secondes et que vous entendiez une tonalité courte.
Pour éteindre le BT LINK, appuyez sur le bouton de logo
puis maintenez-le enfoncé pendant environ 5 secondes,
jusqu’à ce que le témoin DEL clignote toutes les
secondes et que vous entendiez une tonalité longue.
