Flashlight Operation:
1. To turn on the ashlight, push in the red power mode
button on the bottom of the ashlight.
2. Pressing the power button repeatedly will cycle
through the 5 light modes (High, Medium, Low, Flash,
Strobe) followed by the off mode.
3. To turn off the ashlight without cycling through the
modes, hold down the red power button for two
seconds.

Using The Adjustable Beam Focus:
To adjust the width and intensity of the ashlight beam,
grasp the front of the ashlight and pull.
To narrow the beam, pull the front of the ashlight
outwards and the beam will decrease in size and increase
in intensity.
To widen the beam, push the front of the ashlight inwards
and the beam will increase in size and decrease in
intensity.

Power/Charge USB Devices:
The HGR-1000 Flashlight includes a USB charge/power
port to charge/power USB devices. See Figure D.

1. Turn the bottom of the ashlight towards the left in
order to unlock it.
2. Pull the bottom of the ashlight down to expose the
charging and USB ports.
3. The USB port is near the smaller charging port.

4. Plug the USB end of the multi device USB Output
Cable (included) into the HGR-1000 USB port (for
Apple® products use the original Apple® cable).
5. Plug the compatible end of the multi device USB
Output cable to your USB device. See Figure E.

Checking The HGR-1000 Battery Power Level:
To check the battery level of
the internal lithium battery,
open the bottom of the
ashlight as per the previous
USB section and press the
red battery power check
button. The blue battery
power level indicators show
the internal battery level.

Use the included USB charging cable to charge the
ashlight. Plug one end of the cable into the micro USB
input port on the ashlight and the other end to a USB
charger. Press the “Power Indicator” button to show the
charging status on the blue LED’s. Figure G.

Using Battery Cartridge To Power The HGR-1000:
The HGR-1000 ashlight has a Dual Power option. It can
run either on the included rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery
or it can run on AAA batteries using the included Alkaline
Battery Cartridge and (4) AAA batteries.
1. Unscrew the back portion of the ashlight and remove
the Smartech Lithium-Ion battery. See Figure H.
2. Put the provided AAA batteries into the Battery
Cartridge. Make sure that the negative (at side) is the
one touching the springs, otherwise the ashlight won’t
work properly. See Figure I.

1. Load the Battery Cartridge into the HGR-1000. Make
sure that the nipple end is inserted rst. See Figure J.
2. Screw in the back portion of the ashlight.

Warning:
Do Not attempt to charge your HGR-1000 when using
the AAA Battery Cartridge. The batteries provided are not
meant to be recharged and may burst if the charger is
connected causing damage to your ashlight.
If you use rechargeable AAA batteries, charge them with
an external battery charger only. Do not use the built-
in charging system as it is meant to work only with the
Smartech Lithium-Ion battery.

Repair/Replacement Warranty
Smartech Inc. warrants to the original purchaser that
the mechanical and electrical components will be free of
defects in material and workmanship for a period of one
(1) year from the original date of purchase. This product is
intended for household use only. Transportation charges
on product submitted for repair or replacement under this
warranty are the sole responsibility of the purchaser. This
workmanship for a period of warranty only applies to the
original purchaser and is not transferable. Do not return
the unit to the place of purchase. Contact Smartech Inc.
Customer Service and Smartech Inc. will troubleshoot any
issue via phone or e-mail. If the problem is not corrected
by this method, Smartech Inc. will, at its option, authorize
evaluation, repair or replacement of the defective part or
component at a Smartech Inc. Service Center. Repairs
or replacements without prior authorization, or at an
unauthorized repair facility, will not be covered.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover the following repairs and
equipment:
Normal Wear
This warranty does not cover repair when normal use has
exhausted the life of a part or the equipment as a whole.

Installation and Use
This warranty will not apply to parts and/or labor if this
product is deemed to have been misused, neglected,
involved in an accident, abused, modied, installed
improperly or connected incorrectly to any electrical
component.
Other Exclusions
This warranty excludes:
• Merchandise sold as reconditioned, used as rental
equipment or oor/display models sold without
packaging and/or missing parts or components.
• Repair and transportation costs of merchandise
determined not to be defective.
• Cosmetic defects such as paint, decals, etc.
• Failures due to acts of God and other forces of nature
beyond the manufacturer’s control.
• Problems caused by parts that are not original parts.
Limits of Implied Warranty and Consequential Damage
Smartech Inc. disclaims any obligation to cover any loss
of time, use of this product, freight, or any incidental
or consequential claim by anyonefrom using this
product. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER
WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING
WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS
FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

A unit provided as an exchange will be subject to the
warranty of the original unit. The length of the warranty
governing the exchanged unit will remain calculated by
reference to the purchase date of the original unit. This
warranty gives you certain legal rights which may change
from state to state. Your state may also have other rights
you may be entitled to that are not listed within this
warranty. Some states do not allow the exclusion, so it
may not apply to you.
