The EZ Connect™ 14 Mbps Powerline to Ethernet Desktop Adapter (SMCHP1D-ETH) is the
easiest way to create or extend a home network without having to run expensive CAT-5
cabling. To add Powerline technology to your network, simply connect a Powerline to
Ethernet Desktop Adapter to one of the available LAN ports on your BarricadeTM Router
and plug it into an available power outlet. As soon as the Adapter is connected to the
power outlet, each outlet in your house automatically becomes a network connection
where you can access the internet, email, share devices, and connect network-enabled
home entertainment devices. The Powerline to Ethernet Desktop Adapter is compatible
with Windows, Mac, and Linux based PCs. The Powerline to Ethernet Adapter is an excel-
lent solution for getting your Game Console System, such as Xbox® or PS2®, connected
to the internet for online game playing.
The EZ Connect 14 Mbps Powerline to Ethernet Desktop Adapter (SMCHP1D-ETH)
is equipped with:
•1- Auto-Sensing 10/100 Mbps Ethernet connection.
•1– Powerline connection.
There are three LED indicators to display status, connectivity, and data traffic:

Solid LED indicates that the unit is powered on.
No LED light indicates the unit is powered off.
Solid LED indicates that a Powerline signal is detected.
Blinking LED indicates traffic is being transmitted.
No LED light indicates no Powerline signal is detected.
Solid LED indicates a good Ethernet connection is detected.
Blinking LED indicates traffic is being transmitted.
No LED light indicates an Ethernet connection
is not detected.

Adapter. This EZ Quick Installation Guide
will guide you through a simple process for
getting your new SMC product installed.
Put the EZ Installation CD into your
CD-ROM drive.
When the EZ Installation Wizard launches;
click on the [Install EZ Configuration
Utility] option.
Note: If the EZ 3-Click Installation Wizard
does not start automatically then you
can manually launch the program by
viewing the contents of the CD ROM
and double-clicking on the Powerline
adapter Icon.
To complete the utility installation you will
need to reboot your PC.
While your PC is rebooting, connect the
Powerline to Ethernet Adapter to the Wired
Network Adapter on your PC and then
connect the powerline cord to a power
outlet.
