Positioning and connection
Positioning
1. Placetheapplianceinawell-ventilatedhumidity-freeroom.
2. Donotobstructtherearfangrills.Thecompressorand
condensergiveoffheatandrequiregoodventilationto
operatecorrectlyandsaveenergy.
3. Ensuretheapplianceisawayfromanysourcesofheat
(directsunlight,electricstove,etc.).
Electrical connections
Aftertheappliancehasbeentransported,carefullyplaceit
verticallyandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingittothe
electricitymains.Beforeinsertingtheplugintotheelectrical
socketensurethefollowing:
• Theapplianceisearthedandtheplugiscompliantwiththelaw.
• Thesocketcanwithstandthemaximumpowerofthe
appliance,whichisindicatedonthedataplatelocatedon
thebottomleftsideofthefridge(e.g.150W).
• Thevoltagemustbeintherangebetweenthevalues
indicatedonthedataplatelocatedonthebottomleftside
(e.g.220-240V).
• Thesocketiscompatiblewiththeplugoftheappliance.If
thesocketisincompatiblewiththeplug,askanauthorised
techniciantoreplaceit(see Assistance).Donotuseextension
cordsormultiplesockets.
!Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled,thepowersupply
cableandtheelectricalsocketmustbeeasilyaccessible.
!Thecablemustnotbebentorcompressed.

Duetothespecialguidestheshelvesareremovableand
theheightisadjustable(see diagram),allowingeasystorage
oflargecontainersandfood.Heightcanbeadjustedwithout
completeremovaloftheshelf.
TEMPERATURE*Indicatorlight:toidentifythecoldestareain
therefrigerator.
1. CheckthatOKappearsclearlyontheindicatorlight(see
diagram).
2. Iftheword“OK”doesnotappearitmeansthatthe
temperatureistoohigh:adjusttheREFRIGERATOR
OPERATIONknobtoahigher(colder)positionandwait
approximately10hoursuntilthetemperaturehasstabilised.
3. Checktheindicatorlightagain:ifnecessary,readjustit
followingtheinitialprocess.Iflargequantitiesoffoodhave
beenaddedoriftherefrigeratordoorhasbeenopened
frequently,itisnormalfortheindicatornottoshowOK.
Waitatleast10hoursbeforeadjustingtheREFRIGERATOR
OPERATIONknobtoahighersetting.

instructions (see Installation).
!Beforeconnectingtheappliance,cleanthecompartments
andaccessorieswellwithlukewarmwaterandbicarbonate.
1. Inserttheplugintothesocketandensurethattheinternal
lightilluminates.
2. TurntheTEMPERATUREADJUSTMENTknobtoanaverage
value.Afterafewhoursyouwillbeabletoputfoodinthe
refrigerator.
Setting the temperature
Thetemperatureinsidetherefrigeratorcompartment
automaticallyadjustsitselfaccordingtothepositionofthe
thermostatknob.

Werecommend,however,amediumposition.
Thecoolingsectionoftherefrigeratorislocatedinsidethe
backwalloftherefrigeratorcompartmentforincreasedspace
andimprovedaesthetics.Duringoperation,thebackwallwill
becoveredinfrostorwaterdropletsdependingonwhether
thecompressorisoperatingorpaused.Donotworry,the
refrigeratorisfunctioningnormally.

Itisrecognizableduetothepresenceofthemechanismonthe
toppartoftherefrigeratorcompartment(see diagram).

PureWindmaximisesaircirculation,improvingtheefficiencyof
theevaporatorandhelpingtoachievetheoptimaltemperature
insidetherefrigeratorasquicklyaspossibleeachtimeithas
beenopened.Theblownair(A)iscooledwhenitcomesinto
contactwiththecoldwall,whereasthehotterair(B)issucked
up (see diagram).
Static
ModelswithouttheAircoolerhavethecoolingsectionin
theinternalbackwallofthecompartments.Thewallwillbe
coveredinfrostorwaterdropletsdependingonwhetherthe
compressorisoperatingorpaused:bothcasesarenormal.If
theTEMPERATUREADJUSTMENTknobhasbeensetonhigh
valueswithlargequantitiesoffoodandwithahighambient
temperature,theappliancecanoperatecontinuously,resulting
inexcessivefrostformationandexcessiveenergyconsumption:
compensateforthisbyshiftingtheknobtowardslowervalues
(defrostingwilloccurautomatically).
Instaticappliances,theaircirculatesinanaturalway:the
colderairtendstomovedownwardsasitisheavier.Thefood

humidityintherefrigeratorandcausecondensationtoform.
Food hygiene
1. Onceyouhaveboughtyourfood,removeallexternal
packagingmadeofpaper/cardboardorotherwrappers,
whichcouldintroducebacteriaordirtinsideyour
refrigerator.
2. Protectthefood,(especiallyeasilyperishableitemsand
thosethathaveastrongsmell),inordertoavoidcontact
betweenthem,therebyremovingboththepossibilityof
germ/bacteriacontaminationaswellasthediffusionof
strongodoursinsidethefridge.
3. Storeallfoodinsuchawayastoensureaircancirculate
freelybetweendifferentitems.

Cleaning the appliance

Therefrigeratorhasanautomaticdefrostingfunction:
waterisductedtothebackoftheappliancebyaspecial
dischargeoutlet(see diagram)wheretheheatproducedbythe
compressorcausesittoevaporate.Itisnecessarytocleanthe
dischargeholeregularlysothatthewatercanflowouteasily.
Replacing the light bulb
Toreplacethelightbulbintherefrigeratorcompartment,pull
outtheplugfromtheelectricalsocket.Followtheinstructions
below.
Accessthelightbulbbyremovingthecoverasindicatedinthe
diagram.Replaceitwithasimilarlightbulbwithinthepower
rangeindicatedonthecover(10Wo15W).

The motor runs continuously.
