Assembly
1. Locate all your Charleston Loveseat parts, including:

C. Set of loveseat spreader bars (2) and footrest spreader bar (1; not pictured,
contains two mini eye bolts installed in the middle of the bar)

eye bolts, 2 S-hooks, 2 chains, hex bolts, nuts, washers,
hex bolt head covers, and wrench) Note: Items in pack
pictured, but not quantity.
2. Place the wicker bent arms on the ground making sure the arms are face up and ropes are
not twisted or turned (this impedes the next step).
3. Place the cushion in between the bent arms (which are still on the ground). The SoCo tag on
the cushion should be on the backside of the chair (not facing out) positioned at the top.

Installing the Eye Bolts
Hanging the Footrests
Locate the ceiling beam/joist by using a stud finder or tapping
and verifying with a small nail. Be sure to locate the exact
center of the ceiling joist for the most secure installation.
Using a 3/16” (3mm) wood drill bit, drill a starter hole
(approx. 4” or 10 cm deep) perpendicular to the ceiling.
Screw in the supplied eye bolts until all threads have
disappeared into the joist. Do not loosen or adjust once in
place.
Caution: We highly recommend using only a gentle to and fro
motion. Swinging or spinning could loosen the eye bolts from
the ceiling joist and compromise the sturdiness. We highly
recommend hanging the loveseat no more than 18” above the
ground and not exceeding a maximum weight
recommendation of 550 pounds.
When hanging the loveseat, be sure the ropes are not tangled
or caught behind the spreader bars. The ropes must be free
and clear when lifting the loveseat.
With a person on each side, lift the loveseat and connect the
S-hooks (provided in the hardware kit) to the eye bolts in the
ceiling beam (or frame if that’s what you’re using to hang the
loveseat). If the eye bolts are too high, use the chains
(provided in the hardware kit) to bridge the gap between the
eye bolts and the S-hooks.
Note: images used to illustrate this section are of the wooden loveseat; the instructions apply to
both models—wooden and wicker.
1. To hang the footrests, use the third
spreader bar containing two smaller eye bolts
in the middle of the bar (position them facing
down) and two larger eye bolts on the ends of
the bar (when the smaller eye bolts are
positioned facing down, the larger eye bolts
will face up).

Washing and Care Instructions
2. Using two S-hooks, attach the spreader bar
to the chains or eye bolts suspending the
loveseat by threading S hooks to the larger
eye bolts on each end of the spreader bar.
3. The smaller eye bolts in the middle of the
spreader bar are for the footrests. The ropes
on the footrests have S-hooks attached. Use
those hooks to attach the ropes to the
spreader bar.
NOTE: This spreader bar should not be used in any way to support the weight of the loveseat
(use chains and S-hooks). Individuals should also not sit on the bar once it’s installed. It should
only be used to support the footrests.
Your loveseat will last longer depending on its use, where it is installed, and the care it is given.
It will last longer if you keep it dry by either covering it (yes, we sell those!) or storing it indoors
when not in use. We recommend using a fabric protector such as Scotchgard on the pad and
ropes to resist stains. To wash, scrub gently with a soft brush and a mixture of water and a mild
laundry detergent. You can spot-treat stains using Resolve, Shout, or other laundry stain
removers on the fabric parts of the lounger. Warning: Not suitable for washing machines,
tumble dryers, or chemical bleaches.
