SonicWall® NSa Built-in Storage Module
Installation
This document provides instructions for removing and installing the
NSa Built-in Storage Module in your NSa appliance. The storage
module must be installed in the M0 slot on the back of your NSa
appliance. There is no need to power down the appliance.

For more information on safety and regulatory information, refer to
the Getting Started Guide or Quick Start Guide for the product in which
the NSa Built-in Storage Module is being installed.
Removing the Defective NSa Built-in Storage
Module
To remove a defective NSa Built-in Storage Module unit from the NSa
appliance:
1 Remove the seal covering the torx screw (left side) in the M0 slot
on the back.
2 Remove the torx screw holding the NSa Built-in Storage Module
unit in place.
3 Loosen the right thumb screw in the M0 slot.
4 Grip the thumb screw and pull the unit free.
5 Slide the unit out of the appliance.
Installing NSa Built-in Storage Module
To install the new NSa Built-in Storage Module unit in the NSa
appliance:
1 Remove the new storage module from the shipping package.
2 Remove the M0 face plate and defective storage module.
3 Insert the new storage module into the empty slot, label side up.
4 Press the storage module firmly into place to seat the connectors.
5 Tighten the right thumb screw by pushing in and turning to the
right.
6 Insert and tighten the torx screw with the torx tool that shipped
with the unit.
7 Apply the new seal provided so that it covers the left torx screw on
the M0 slot.
CAUTION: The NSa Built-in Storage Module contains parts and
assemblies susceptible to damage by electrostatic discharge
(ESD). To prevent damage, handle the module using standard
ESD procedures such as storing it in an electrostatic bag and
handling it only while grounded.
M0: M.2 STORAGE
M0: M.2 STORAGE
NOTE: A torx tool is shipped with the replacement NSa Built-in
Storage Module. CAUTION: Do NOT insert anything except the NSa Built-in
Storage Module into the slot labeled for the module (M0). The
module is not designed to fit in the M1 slot.
IMPORTANT: Be sure to apply the FIPS sticker properly to ensure
warranty protection for the appliance with the new NSa Built-in
Storage Module.
This hard drive is for use only with the appropriate SonicWall appliance. Use of this hard
drive with a SonicWall appliance that is not approved voids the warranty for that appliance.

01-SSC-1954 SONICWALL M2 16 GB Storage Module
01-SSC-1955 SONICWALL M2 32GB Storage Module
01-SSC-1956 SONICWALL M2 64GB Storage Module
01-SSC-1957 SONICWALL M2 128GB Storage Module
01-SSC-1958 SONICWALL M2 256GB Storage Module
These Built-In storage modules are approved for use with the following appliances:
01-SSC-1936 SONICWALL NSa 2650 APPLIANCE
01-SSC-1937 SONICWALL NSa 3650 APPLIANCE
01-SSC-1938 SONICWALL NSa 4650 APPLIANCE
01-SSC-1939 SONICWALL NSa 5650 APPLIANCE
01-SSC-1940 SONICWALL NSa 6650 APPLIANCE
01-SSC-1941 SONICWALL NSa 9250 APPLIANCE
01-SSC-1942 SONICWALL NSa 9450 APPLIANCE
01-SSC-1943 SONICWALL NSa 9650 APPLIANCE
