While holding
down
the
lens release
button
on the
camera, rotate
the
lens counterclockwise
until
it
stops,
then
detach the lens.
Shooting
at
infinity
in MF
The
focusing
mechanism
turns
slightly
past
infinily
to
provide
accurate
focusing
under
various
operating
temperatures.
Check
the
image
sharpness
through
the
viewfinder
etc., especially
when
the
lens
is
focused Ilear
infinity.
•This lens
is
equipped with adistance encoder, which allows
more accurate measurement (ADI) when using an ADJ-
compatible flash.
•Depending

the lens mechanism, the focal length may
change with
any
change
of
the shooting distance.
The
focal
length assumes the lens
is
focused at infinity.

use
When
using abuilt-in camera flash, always remove the lens
hood and shoot at least 1m (3.3 feet) away from your subject.
With certain combinations
of
lens
and
flash, the lens may
partially block the light
of
the
flash, resulting in ashadow at
the bottom
of
the picture

the lens exposed to the sun or abright light
source. Internal malfunction
of
the camera body and lens,
or a
fire
may result due to the effect
of
light focusing. If
circumstances necessitate leaving the lens
in
sunlight, be sure
to attach the lens caps.
•
Be
careful not to subject the lens/teleconverter to mechanical
shock while attaching
it.
•
Always
place the lens caps on the lens/teleconverter when
storing.
•
Do
not keep the lens/teleconverter in avery humid place
for
a
long period oftime to prevent mold.
•
Do
not touch the lens contacts. Ifdirt, etc., gets on the lens
contacts,
it
may interfere
or
prevent the sending and receiving
of
signals between the lens and the camera, resulting
in
operational malfunction.
Condensation
If
your
lens
is
brought
directly from acold place to awarm
place, condensation may appear
on
the lens.
To
avoid thiS,
place the lens in aplastic bag
or
something
similar.
When
the air temperature inside the bag reaches the surrounding
temperature, take the lens out.
Cleaning the lens
•
Do
not touch the surface ofthe lens directly.
•Ifthe lens gets dirty, brush offdust with alens blower
and wipe with asoft,
dean
doth
(Cleaning Cloth
is
recommended).
•Do not
use
any organic solvent, such as thinner or benzine,to
dean
the lens or the camera cone.
