compensated for if recording or playback ts

camera or recording medium, etc.
Notes on Image data compatibility

Thus camera conforms with the Destgn
Rules for Camera File Systems utuversal
standard established by the JEITA (Japan
Electric and Informatton Technology
Industries). You cannot play back on your
camera still tmages recorded on other
equtpment @CR-TRV89OEQTRV900/
TRV900E, DSC-D700, DSC-D770) that
does not conform wtth dus umversal
standard. (These models are not sold m
some areas.)

camera on other equrpment and playback
of images recorded or edited wtth other
eqtupment on your camera are not
guaranteed.

Televtston programs, films, vtdeo tapes, and
other matenals may be copyrighted.
Unauthortzed recording of such mater&
may be contrary to the provtston of the
copyright laws.
Do not shake or strike the camera
In additton to malfuncttons and Inability to
record Images, thus may render the
“Memoty St& unusable or nnage data
breakdown, damage or loss may occur.
Do not arm the camera at the sun
or other bright light
Thrs may cause urecoverable damage to
your eyes.
LCD screen, LCD finder (only
models with a finder) and lens

The LCD screen and the LCD finder are
manufactured usmg extremely htgh-

prectsron technology so over 99.99% of
the pixels are operattonal for effecttve use.
However, there may be some tiny black
points and/or bnght pomts (white, red,
blue or green m color) that constantly
appear on the LCD screen and the LCD
finder. These pomts are normal m the
manufacturmg process and do not affect
the recording m any way.

Be careful when placmg the camera near a
wmdow or outdoors. Exposmg the LCD
screen, the finder or the lens to direct
sunlight for long penods may cause
malfunctions.
Do not get the camera wet
When takmg prctures outdoors m the ram or
under smrilar condittons, be careful not to
get the camera wet. If motsture
condensatton occurs, refer to page 79 and
follow the mstructrons on how to remove rt
before usmg the camera.
Back up recommendation
To avotd the potential rtsk of data loss,
always copy (back up) data to a disk.
Handling of the movable lens
Thts camera uses a movable lens.
Be careful not to strike or apply excesstve
force to the lens portton.
When the camera IS used for long
periods
Note that the camera body may become hot.
About the Carl Zetss lens
Thts camera 1sequipped with a Carl 7e1ss
lens which ts capable of reproducing tine
images. The lens for tlus camera uses the
MTF* measurement system for cameras
developedJomtly by Carl Zeiss, m
Germany, and Sony Corporanon, and
offers the same quality as other Carl
Zeiss lenses.
