With the high-quality, high-compression MPEG-4 movie
format, you can create your own stunning HD movies. Just a
quick touch of the movie icon on the Touch Screen switches
instantly between photo and movie settings, making this
feature remarkably easy to use. You can store up to 60 minutes*
of movie action on a single 4GB Memory Stick or even shoot
photos and movies simultaneously!
Then view your stunningly detailed HD movies and still images
on HD TV or upload them to your computer or the Internet
with ease**. With the supplied Picture Motion Browser, you
can easily edit HD movies. Its Highlight Index function allows
you to conveniently locate favourite scenes, while the Movie
Tracer function lets you create a stunning panoramic image

Anti-motion Blur
Taking advantage of the sensitivity of the “Exmor R”
CMOS sensor and the super-fast processing speed of
the BIONZ image processor, Anti-motion Blur mode uses
six superimposed frames to create one single optimised
image with 50% less noise. This means you are able to
shoot with high ISO settings in low-light environments,
reducing noise and subject blur, giving you clear and
sharp images.

Utilising a mechanical shutter to conveniently eliminate motion blur, you
can capture 10 continuous frames per second at 10.2 Mega Pixels in an
instant. This allows you to capture fast actions or a moving subject in a
sequence of accurate shots. This sequence of continuous shots are also
grouped to simplify playback as the camera analyses each group in order
to locate and display the best shot automatically.
Sweep Panorama
Sweep your camera horizontally to create stunning landscape
shots, or vertically to capture tall objects like buildings or
mountains. Photos are taken at 10 frames per second and
automatically assembled to create a single breathtaking
panoramic picture. With horizontal images as wide as 7152 x
1080 and vertical images as tall as 4912 x 1920, be swept away
by the amazingly detailed shots you can achieve with Sweep
Panorama. Panoramic images can be viewed using S-frame*

Advanced Face Detection Technology
Sony’s Face Detection automatically determines the focus, exposure, white balance and even flash control on multiple faces in a single shot. It is
lightning-fast and accurate, so that even individual red eye reduction and auto focus are optimised for pictures everyone will love.
When multiple faces are detected, Sony also has the Advanced Face Detection technology that cleverly distinguishes between child and adult faces. Select
“Child Priority” or “Adult Priority” mode and let the camera adjust the focus, exposure and white balance for the faces you want to concentrate on.
Smile Shutter
Sony’s Smile Shutter is designed to catch the most dazzling smiles
from your subjects. This innovative feature captures all your happy
moments by automatically taking pictures only when the person is

Since the appearance of the rst CCD (Charge
Coupled Device) in 1978, Sony has been
developing its own image sensors, culminating in
therelease ofthe“Exmor”CMOS(Complementary
Metal Oxide Semiconductor) sensor in 2007. This
highly efcient low-voltage sensor produces
images with virtually no vertical striping and vastly
reduced image noise. And it’s remarkably fast too,
making possible burst shooting in Sony digital
SLRs and rapid high-resolution imaging in Sony
HD Handycam®camcorders.

tonality that takes your breath away. Incorporating
Sony’s proprietary on-chip column A/D
conversion, “Exmor” delivers results with markedly
decreased noise and contributes to rapid image
data processing. Leveraging on the “Exmor”
advantage is the compact “Exmor R” sensor
which utilises back-illuminated technology
to nearly double sensor sensitivity for clearer
low-light recordings such as a romantic candlelit
