Operating Instructions
Before operating the unit, please read this manual thoroughly and
retain it for future reference.

The model and serial numbers are located on the rear of the transmitter and
the inside of the head band. Record these numbers in the spaces provided
below. Refer to these numbers whenever you call upon your Sony dealer
regarding this product.

provided with a headphone jack or line aut jack.

‘ Operate the unit only with the supplied AC adaptor.
* Unplug the AC adaptor from the wall outlet when it is not to be
used for an extended period of time. To disconnect the adaptor,
pull it out by grasping the plug. Never pull it by the cord.

only.
* Do not install the unit in a location near heat sources such as
radiators or airducts, or in a place subject to direct sunfight,
excessive dust, mechanical vibration, or shock,

Bore two holes into the
wail to mount the trans-
mitter. The holes should be
about 50mm (2 inches)
apart as shown in the

until they about 4-S5mm

Fit the mounting holes of
the transmitter over the
screws and lowering the
transmitter a little so that -
the screws are lodge in the i
‘mounting holes.
After positioning the trans-
mitter, adjust its angle to
obtain optimum sound quality.
(Position the transmitter head
upright when charging.)

The headphones are powered by their built-in rechargeable
battery. When you use the headphones for the first time or the
battery is completely exhausted, proceed to charge the battery
quickly (quick charge) in the following way:
Connect the AC power adaptor to the
transmitter.
Rest the headphones on the
transmitter so that the contact
pins fit into the contact holes on
the headphones. The charging

Caution
Do not repeat the quick charge more than two times in succes-
sion, or the battery may be impaired.
Note
« Whenever the headphones are rested on the transmitter, the
battery is charged continuously and the charging indicator glows
green faintly to indicate trickte charging.
* Since little electric current is used for trickle charging, there is no
need to worry about overcharging.
it takes about 50 hours to fully charge the battery by the trickle
charging.
Press the quick charge button
on the rear of the transmitter.
The charging indicator turns red
and retums to green after about
3 hours. Now, you can use head-
phones for about 3 hours.
1 you want to fully charge the
battery to use the headphones
for about 6 hours, repeat the
quick charge.
Turn on the audioNvideo equipment connected to the
transmitter.
Turn on the power switch of the head-
phones and pul on the headphones.
Adjust the head band, if necessary.
Adjust the volume controls so that
the audio level of both channels
gets equal.
When the audio signal is input, the transmitter turns on auto-
matically and the infrared emttters glow. ‘if the transmitter is
connected to the headphone jack, set the volunie control of the
equipment to the middie position.
When the no signal ls supplied for
more than about 3 minutes
The transmitter is tumed oft

When the audio signal is interrupted
or extremely low sound continues for
more than about 3 minutes
The transmitter may be turned off.
When the transmitter is connected to
the headphone jack, Increase the
volume of the connected equipment
and fower the volume ot the
headphones.
After using the headphones
Set the power switch to OFFICHG and
rest the headphones on the transmitter.
Note
* Be sure to remain in the effective
range of the infrared rays while listen-
Ing (see diagram above).
