The Four Steps to a Full HD Experience

16:9 (high-definition) source
Most HDTV signals use awide screen aspect
ratio of 16:9. The 16:9 fills your BRAVIA
screen, maintaining acrisp, clear, vivid
picture.
4:3 (standard-definition) source
Most standard-definition signals use aboxy
4:3 aspect ratio. When a4:3 image
is
displayed on an HDTV, you will see black
bars
on the sides. The picture quality may not
be as sharp as with HD sources.

Getting Started
Setting Up Your TV
Some TV model are packaged with adetached Table-Top Stand 0you can mount it to awall
right away.
If you are not mounting the TV to awall, you will need to attach the Table-Top Stand.
You will need aPhillip screwdriver and the upplied crews to complete the task. Look for the
instruction attached to the TV unit or read the in tructions in the online Reference Book.
Be ure to con ider the following while setting up your TV:
•Carry the TV with an adequate number
of people; larger ize TV require two or more people.
•Correct hand placement while carrying the TV ivery important for afety and to avoid
damages.

•For be tpicture quality. do not expose the creen to direct illumination or sunlight.

Connect to the left and right audio input jacks of your audio equipment. You can
use these output to listen to your TV saudio through your stereo ytern.
HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) provide an uncompres ed, all-
digital audio/video interface between this TV and any HDMI-equipped audio/video
equipment, uch as aset-top box, DVD player Blu-ray Disc, and AIV receiver.
HDMI supports enhanced, or high-definition video, plus digital audio.

Initial Setup
The Initial Setup screen appears when you turn on the TV for the first time.
During this initial setup, you can perform the following:
1Select the language for the on-screen display text.
2Select HOME or Retail mode.
3Connect cable or antenna, then elect OK to run Auto
Program.

• If you have cable and antenna available, plea econnect cable first.
•IMPORTA T: Auto Program is only effective when cable or
antenna is connected. If you cancel Auto Program before completion some channels may not be
available.
4Auto Program will scan for available channels from the signal source directly connected to
the
TV' CABLE/ANTENNA input and may take sometime to complete the process. Follow
the help text provided on the screen to run Auto Program.
~ Suggestions
•When prompted to select HOME or Retail, be sure to elect
HOME for ENERGY STAR compliant mode.
• If you u e both cable without abox and antenna connections,
use an A-B RF switch (not upplied). For more detail ee the

•Select your preferred aspect ratio for the screen display.
Pre sWIDE to elect the wide mode or press MENU and
set the Auto Wide to On under the Screen menu.

anything near the sensor or the nearby general area (as shown above), as its function
may be affected.

Using BRAVIA@ Sync™ with
Control for HDMI
The BRAVIA Sync function allow this TV to
communicate with other Sony equipment
supporting the Control for HOMI function.

Setting the Control for HOMI
The Control for HOMI function must be set
up in order for the TV to communicate with

The Sound Menu allows you to customize your ound settings to suit your audio preference. You can al 0

The Screen Menu allows you to change the proportions
