ワイヤレス LAN 製品ご使用時におけるセキュリティについて（VPL-CX86、
VPL-CX76 のみ）
ワイヤレス LAN ではセキュリティの設定をすることが非常に重要です。
ワイヤレス LAN の仕様上やむを得ない事情により、セキュリティの問題が発生して
しまった場合、弊社ではこれによって生じたあらゆる損害に対する責任を負いかね
ます。
ワイヤレス LAN 機能について
本機のワイヤレス LAN 機能は WFA（Wi-FiAlliance）で規定された「Wi-Fi（ワイ
ファイ）仕様」に適合していることが確認されています。
この装置は、情報処理装置等電波障害自主規制協議会（VCCI）の基準に基づくク
ラス B 情報技術装置です。この装置は、家庭環境で使用することを目的としてい
ますが、この装置がラジオやテレビジョン受信機に近接して使用されると、受信
障害を引き起こすことがあります。
取扱説明書に従って正しい取り扱いをしてください。
本機使用上のご注意（VPL-CX86、VPL-CX76 のみ）
この機器の使用周波数は 2.4GHz 帯です。この周波数帯では電子レンジ等の産業・
科学・医療用機器のほか、他の同種無線局、工場の製造ライン等で使用される免
許を要する移動体識別用構内無線局、免許を要しない特定小電力無線局、アマチュ
ア無線局等（以下「他の無線局」と略す）が運用されています。
1. この機器を使用する前に、近くで「他の無線局」が運用されていないことを
確認してください。
2. 万一、この機器と「他の無線局」との間に電波干渉が発生した場合には、速
やかにこの機器の使用チャンネルを変更するか、使用場所を変えるか、また
は機器の運用を停止（電波の発射を停止）してください。
3. 不明な点その他お困りのことが起きたときは、テクニカルインフォメーショ
ンセンターまでお問い合わせください。詳しくは、本機の最後に記載されて
いる『製品ご相談窓口のご案内』をご覧ください。
この表示のある無線機器は 2.4GHz 帯を使用しています。変
調方式として DS-SS 変調方式および 0FDM 変調方式を採用
し、与干渉距離は 40m です。
本機は「高調波電流規格 JISC61000-3-2適合品」です。

電源コードを傷つけない
電源コードを傷つけると、火災や
感電の原因となることがあります。
･ 設置時に、製品と壁やラック
（棚）などの間に、はさみ込んだ
りしない。
･ 電源コードを加工したり、傷つ
けたりしない。
･ 重いものをのせたり、引っ張っ
たりしない。
･ 熱器具に近づけたり、加熱した
りしない。
･ 電源コードを抜くときは、必ず
プラグを持って抜く。
万一、電源コードが傷んだら、お
買い上げ店またはテクニカルイン
フォメーションセンターに交換を
ご相談ください。
指定された電源コード、接続ケーブルを使う
取扱説明書に記されている電源
コード、接続ケーブルを使わない
と、感電や故障の原因となること
があります。
内部を開けない
内部には電圧の高い部分があり、
キャビネットや裏ぶたを開けたり
改造したりすると、火災や感電の
原因となることがあります。内部
の調整や設定、点検、修理はお買
い上げ店またはテクニカルイン
フォメーションセンターにご相談
ください。
レンズをのぞかない
投影中にプロジェクターのレンズ
をのぞくと光が目に入り、悪影響
を与えることがあります。
警告
内部に水や異物を入れない
水や異物が入ると火災や感電の原
因となることがあります。万一、
水や異物が入ったときは、すぐに
電源を切り、電源コードや接続
ケーブルを抜いて、お買い上げ店
またはテクニカルインフォメー
ションセンターにご相談ください。
排気口、吸気口をふさがない
排気口、吸気口をふさぐと内部に
熱がこもり、火災や故障の原因と
なることがあります。また、手を
近づけるとやけどをする場合があ
ります。風通しをよくするために
次の項目をお守りください。
･ 壁から 30cm 以上離して設置す
る。
･ 密閉された狭い場所に押し込め
ない。
･ 布などで包まない。
･ 立てて使用しない。
･ プロジェクターの下に布や紙を
敷かない。
お手入れの際は、電源を切って電源プラグを
抜く
電源を接続したままお手入れをす
ると、感電の原因となることがあ
ります。
プロジェクターの上に水が入ったものを置
かない
内部に水が入ると火災や感電の原
因となります。
電源プラグおよびコネクターは突きあたる
まで差し込む
まっすぐに突きあたるまで差し込
まないと、火災や感電の原因とな
ります。
安全アースを接続する（VPL-CX86、VPL-
CX63、VPL-CX61 のみ）
アース接続は必ず電源プラグを電
源につなぐ前に行ってください。
また、アース接続をはずす場合は
必ず電源プラグを電源から切り離
してから行ってください。

床置き、または天井つり金具を使った天井つ
り以外の設置をしない
それ以外の設置をすると火災や大
けがの原因となることがあります。
天井への取り付け、移動は絶対に自分でやら
ない
天井への取り付け、移動は必ずお
買い上げ店またはテクニカルイン
フォメーションセンターにご依頼
ください（有料）。
天井の強度不足、取り付け方法が
不十分のときは落下し大けがの原
因となります。必ずソニー推奨の
天つり金具をご使用ください。特
約店の方は、取り付けを安全に行
うために、必ず本機、および天つ
り金具の取付説明書の注意事項を
お読みください。
レーザー発光部をのぞかない（VPL-CX86、
VPL-CX76 のみ）
プレゼンテーションツールのレー
ザー発光部をのぞき込むと目に悪
影響を与えることがあります。
これらのラベルはプレゼンテーションツールの後
面に貼付されています。
熱感知器や煙感知器のそばに設置しない
熱感知器や煙感知器のそばに設置
すると、排気の熱などにより、感
知器が誤動作するなど、思わぬ事
故の原因となることがあります。
長時間の外出、旅行の時は、電源プラグを抜
く
安全のため、必ず電源プラグをコ
ンセントから抜いてください。
心臓ペースメーカーの装着部位から 22cm
以上離して使用する（VPL-CX86、VPL-
CX76 のみ）
電波によりペースメーカーの動作
に影響を与えるおそれがあります。
本製品を使用中に他の機器に電波障害など
が発生した場合は、ワイヤレス機能を使用し
ない（VPL-CX86、VPL-CX76 のみ）
ワイヤレス LAN カードを本機から
抜いてください。
電波が影響を及ぼし、誤動作によ
る事故の原因となるおそれがあり
ます。
病院などの医療機関内、医療用電気機器の近
くではワイヤレス機能を使用しない（VPL-
CX86、VPL-CX76 のみ）
ワイヤレス LAN カードを本機から
抜いてください。
電波が影響を及ぼし、医療用電気
機器の誤動作による事故の原因と
なるおそれがあります。
お子様の手の届かない場所でご使用くださ
い（VPL-CX86、VPL-CX76 のみ）
付属のワイヤレス LAN カードや
USB ワイヤレス LAN モジュール、
誤って飲み込むなど、思わぬ事故
の原因になり危険です。
アースキャップやコネクターカバーは幼児
の手の届かないところへ保管する
お子様が誤って飲むと、窒息死す
る恐れがあります。
万一誤って飲み込まれた場合はた
だちに医者に相談してください。
特に小さなお子様にはご注意くだ
さい。

下記の注意を守らないと、
けがをしたり周辺の物品
に損害を与えることがあ
ります。
不安定な場所に設置しない
ぐらついた台の上や傾いたところ
に設置すると、倒れたり落ちたり
してけがの原因となることがあり
ます。また、設置・取り付け場所
の強度を充分にお確かめください。
ぬれた手で電源プラグにさわらない
ぬれた手で電源プラグの抜き差し
をすると、感電の原因となること
があります。
水のある場所に置かない
水が入ったり、濡れたり、風呂場
などで使うと、火災や感電の原因
となります。雨天や降雪中の窓際
でのご使用や、海岸、水辺でのご
使用は特にご注意ください。
湿気やほこり、油煙、湯気の多い場所や虫の
入りやすい場所、直射日光が当たる場所、熱
器具の近くに置かない。
火災や感電の原因となることがあ
ります。
本機を立てておかない
保管や、一時的に立てておくと倒
れて思わぬ事故の原因になり危険
です。
スプレー缶などの発火物や燃えやすいもの
を排気口やレンズの前に置かない。
火災の原因となることがあります。
注意
撮影中にレンズのすぐ前で光を遮らない
遮光したものに熱による変形など
の影響を与えることがあります。
落雷のおそれがあるときは、電源プラグに触
れない
感電の原因となります。
アジャスター調整時に指を挟まない
（VPL-CX86、VPL-CX76 のみ）
本機は、電源を入れると電動チル
トアジャスターが自動的に伸張し、
電源を切ると自動的に収納されま
す。電動チルトアジャスターの自
動動作中はアジャスター付近に手
や指などを近づけないでください。
自動動作が終了した後、電動チル
トアジャスターを調整する場合は、
アジャスターに手などが触れない
よう慎重に行ってください。電動
チルトアジャスターに指を挟み、
けがの原因になることがあります。
(VPL-CX63/VPL-CX61 のみ )
アジャスターを調整する場合は、
アジャスターに手などが触れない
ように慎重に行ってください。ア
ジャスターに指を挟み、けがの原
因になることがあります。
磁気によりデータ破損など考えられる物を
近づけない（VPL-CX76 のみ）
コネクターカバー、INPUT-A端子
上部にはマグネットを使用してい
るので、磁気によるデータ破損な
どが考えられる物を近づけないで
ください。
設置の際、本機と設置部分での指挟みに注意
する
設置する際、本機と設置部分で指
を挟まないように慎重に取り扱っ
てください。

注意
排気口周辺には触れない
排気口周辺はランプの熱で温度が
高くなっています。手などを触れ
ると火傷の原因となります。
とくにメモリースティック、
AirShot のカード類を抜き差しす
る際はご注意ください。
（VPL-CX86、VPL-CX76 のみ）
定期的にエアーフィルターをクリーニング
する
約 1000 時間（VPL-CX86、VPL-
CX63、VPL-CX61）、または約 500
時間（VPL-CX76）使用したら、必
ずエアーフィルターのクリーニン
グをしてください。
クリーニングを怠るとフィルター
にごみがたまり、内部に熱がこ
もって火災の原因となることがあ
ります。
定期的に内部の掃除を依頼する
長い間掃除をしないと内部にほこ
りがたまり、火災や感電の原因と
なることがあります。1年に 1 度
は、内部の掃除をお買い上げ店ま
たはテクニカルインフォメーショ
ンセンターにご依頼ください（有
料）。
特に、湿気の多くなる梅雨の前に
掃除をすると、より効果的です。
運搬する際は、キャリングケースを使用する
（VPL-CX86、VPL-CX76 のみ）
本機をキャリングケースに入れず
に運搬すると、落下してけがや故
障の原因となることがあります。
充分に冷えた状態でキャリングケースに収
納する（VPL-CX86、VPL-CX76 のみ）
電源を切った直後に本機をキャリ
ングケースに収納すると、熱がこ
もるためキャビネットの温度が上
がり、次に本機を取り出す際にや
けどの原因となります。
本機をキャリングケースに収納す
る際は、クーリングが終了し、
ファンが止まってから充分冷えた
状態で収納してください。
本体上部には 10cm 以上の空間をあけて設
置する（VPL-CX86、VPL-CX76 のみ）
本機は電動でチルトアジャスターが
伸び、それに応じて本体の高さが高
くなります。本体上部に充分な間隔
をとって設置しないと、本体が設置
された場所の上部の壁、棚などの間
に手を挟み、けがの原因となること
があります。
リモコンは高温になる場所へ置かない
（VPL-CX86、VPL-CX76 のみ）
同梱のプレゼンテーションツール
は金属製ですので高温になる場所
に置くと、本体が熱くなり、触る
と危険な場合があります。

電池についての安全上のご
注意
ここでは、本機での使用が可能なソニー製乾電池
及びリチウム電池についての注意事項を記載して
います。

すぐにきれいな水で洗い、ただちに医師の治療を
受ける。

お買い上げ店またはテクニカルインフォメーショ
ンセンターに連絡する。

すぐにきれいな水で洗い流す。

よくふき取ってから、新しい電池を入れる。
下記の注意事項を守らない
と、破 裂・発 熱・液 漏 れ に よ

･ 乾電池は充電しない。
･ ボタン型リチウム電池は、幼児の手の届かない
ところに置いてください。万が一飲み込んだ場
合には、直ちに医師に相談してください。
･ リチウム電池は充電しない。
･ 火の中に入れない。ショートさせたり、分解、
加熱しない。
･ 指定された種類の電池を使用する。

･ 投げつけない。
･ 使用推奨期限内（乾電池に記載）の乾電池を使

･ 新しい電池と使用した電池は混ぜて使わない。
･ 種類の違う電池を混ぜて使わない。
･ 水や海水につけたり濡らしたりしない。
ランプについての安全上の
ご注意
本機の光源には、内部圧力の高い水銀ランプを使
用しています。高圧水銀ランプには、つぎのよう
な特性があります。
･ 衝撃やキズ、使用時間の経過による劣化などに
より大きな音をともなって破裂したり、不点灯
状態となって寿命が尽きたりすることがある。
･ 個体差や使用条件によって、寿命に大きなバラ
ツキがある。指定の時間内であっても破裂、ま
たは不点灯状態になることがある。
･ 交換時期を越えると、破裂の可能性が高くなる。
「ランプを交換してください」というメッセージ
が表示されたら、ランプが正常に点灯している
場合でも速やかに新しいランプと交換してくだ
さい。
万一、異常が起きたら
･ 電池の液が目に入ったら
･ 煙が出たら
･ 電池の液が皮膚や衣服に付いたら
･ バッテリー収納部内で液が漏れたら
電池は、間違ったタイプと交換した場合、破裂
の危険があります。
使用済み乾電池は、地域のルールに従って処分
してください。

設置・使用時のご注意
次のような場所には設置しないでください。本機
の故障や破損の原因となります。
風通しが悪い場所
･ 吸気口および排気口は、内部の温度上昇を防ぐ
ためのものです。風通しの悪い場所を避け、通
風口をふさがないように設置してください。
･ 吸気口や排気口がふさがって、内部の温度が上
昇すると、温度センサーが働き、「セット内部温
度が高いです。１分後に LAMP オフします。」
という警告メッセージが表示され、１分後に自
動的に電源が切れます。
･ 本機の周囲から 30cm 以内には物を置かないよ
うにしてください。
･ 吸気口には小さな紙などが吸い込まれやすいの
でご注意ください。
温度や湿度が高い場所
温度や湿度が非常に高い場所や温度が著しく低い
場所での使用は避けてください。
ランプ交換はランプが充分に冷えてから行
う
電源を切った直後はランプが高温
になっており、さわるとやけどの
原因となることがあります。ラン
プ交換の際は、電源を切ってから
１時間以上たって、充分にランプ
が冷えてから行ってください。
ランプが破裂したときはすぐに交換を依頼
する
動作中に大きな音がして画像が映
らなくなった場合は、ランプが破
裂した可能性があります。ランプ
が破裂した際には、本機内部にガ
ラス片が飛散している可能性があ
ります。 すみやかに使用を中止
し、テクニカルインフォメーショ
ンセンターにランプの交換と内部
の点検を依頼してください。また、
排気口よりガスや粉じんが出たり
することがあります。ガスには微
量の水銀が含まれていますので、
万が一吸い込んだり、目に入った
りした場合は、速やかに医師にご
相談ください。
本機または使用済みランプを廃棄す
る場合
本機のランプの中には水銀が含まれています。
廃棄の際は、一般の廃棄物とは一緒にせず、地
方自治体の条例または規則に従ってください。
設置に適さない場所

10 設置・使用時のご注意
空調の冷暖気が直接当たる場所
結露や異常温度上昇により、故障の原因となるこ
とがあります。
熱感知器や煙感知器のそば
感知器が誤動作する原因となることがあります。
ほこりが多い場所、たばこなどの煙が入る場
所
ほこりの多い場所、たばこなどの煙が入る場所で
の使用は避けてください。この様な場所で使用す
るとエアフィルターがつまりやすくなったり、故
障や破損の原因となります。また、エアフィル
ターの汚れは内部の温度が上昇する原因になるの
で定期的に掃除してください。
次のような状態では使用しないでください。
本機を立てて使用する
本機を立ててお使いになることは避けてください。
故障の原因となります。
本機を左右に傾ける
本機を 15 度以上傾けたり、床置きおよび天つり以
外の設置でお使いになることは避けてください。
色むらやランプの寿命を著しく損ねる原因となる
ことがあります。
吸排気口を覆う
吸排気口をふさぐような覆いやカバーをしたり、
毛足の長いじゅうたんなどの上では使用しないで
ください。吸排気口がふさがれると、内部の温度
が上昇します。
レンズの前に遮蔽物を置く
投影中にレンズのすぐ前で光を遮らないでくださ
い。遮光した物に熱による変形など影響を与える
可能性があります。投影を一時的に中断するとき
には、ピクチャーミューティング機能をお使いく
ださい。
使用に適さない状態

設置・使用時のご注意
海抜 1500ｍ 以上でのご使用に際しては、設置設定
メニューの「高地モード」の設定を「入」にして
ください。「切」のままご使用になりますと、部品
の信頼性などに影響を与える恐れがあります。
液晶プロジェクターについて
液晶プロジェクターは非常に精密度の高い技術で
作られていますが、黒い点が現われたり、赤と青、
緑の点が消えないことがあります。また、すじ状
の色むらや明るさのむらが見える場合もあります。
これらは、液晶プロジェクターの構造によるもの
で、故障ではありません。
スクリーンについて
表面に凹凸のあるスクリーンを使用すると、本機
とスクリーン間の距離やズーム倍率によって、ま
れに画面上に縞模様が現れる場合があります。こ
れは本機の故障ではありません。
結露について
本機の設置してある室内の急激な温度変化は結露
を引き起こし、故障の原因となりますので冷暖房
にご注意ください。
結露とは、寒いところから急に暖かい場所へ持ち
込んだとき、本体の内部に水滴がつくことです。
結露が起きたときは、電源を入れたまま本機をそ
のまま約 2 時間放置しておいてください。
ファンの音について
本機の内部には温度上昇を防ぐためにファンが取
り付けられており、電源を入れると多少音を生じ
ます。これらは、液晶プロジェクターの構造によ
るもので、故障ではありません。しかし、異常音
が発生した場合にはお買い上げ店にご相談くださ
い。
部屋の照明について
直射日光や室内灯などで直接スクリーンを照らさ
ないでください。美しく見やすい画像にするため
に、以下の点を参考にしてください。
･ 集光形のダウンライトにする。
･ 蛍光灯のような散光照明にはメッシュを使用す
る。
･ 太陽の差し込む窓はカーテンやブラインドでさ
えぎる。
･ 光を反射する床や壁はカーペットや壁紙でおお
う。
お手入れについて
･ キャビネットやパネルの汚れは、柔らかい布で
軽くふき取ってください。汚れがひどいときに
は、水でうすめた中性洗剤に柔らかい布をひた
し、固くしぼってから汚れをふき取り、乾いた
布で仕上げてください。なお、お手入れの際は
必ず電源コードをコンセントから抜いてくださ
い。
･ レンズに手を触れたり、固いもので傷をつけた
りしないようにご注意ください。
･ 必ず定期的にフィルターのクリーニングをして
ください。
持ち運びをするときは（VPL-CX86、
VPL-CX76 のみ）
本機は精密機器です。本機をキャリングケースに
入れて持ち運びするときは、衝撃を与えたり、落
としたりしないでください。破損の原因となりま
す。また、本機をキャリングケースに収納する際
には、電源コード及び全ての接続ケーブルやカー
ド類をはずし、付属品は付属品入れに収納してく
ださい。
本機は電源スイッチを備えていません。
設置の際には、容易にアクセスできる固定配線内
に専用遮断装置を設けるか、使用中に、容易に抜
き差しできる、機器に近いコンセントに電源プラ
グを接続してください。
万一、異常が起きた際には、専用遮断装置を切る
か、電源プラグを抜いてください。
機器は主電源コンセントの近くに設置し、遮断装
置へ容易に手が届くようにしなければならない。
重要
機器の名称と電気定格は、底面に表示されていま
す。
指定以外の電池に交換すると、破裂する危険があ
ります。
使用済の電池は、説明書に従って処理してくださ
い。
アースの接続は、必ず電源プラグを電源コンセン
トへ接続する前に行ってください。
アースの接続を外す場合は、必ず電源プラグを電
源コンセントから抜いてから行っ
てください。
高地で使用する場合

Safety
• Check that the operating voltage of your
unit is identical with the voltage of your
local power supply.
• Should any liquid or solid object fall into
the cabinet, unplug the unit and have it
checked by qualified personnel before
operating it further.
• Unplug the unit from the wall outlet if it is
not to be used for several days.
• To disconnect the cord, pull it out by the
plug. Never pull the cord itself.
• The wall outlet should be near the unit and
easily accessible.
• The unit is not disconnected to the AC
power source (mains) as long as it is
connected to the wall outlet, even if the
unit itself has been turned off.
• Do not look into the lens while the lamp is
on.
• Do not place your hand or objects near the
ventilation holes. The air coming out is
hot.
• Be careful not to get your fingers caught in
the powered tilt adjuster (VPL-CX86/
VPL-CX76 only). The powered tilt
adjuster of this unit automatically extends
when the power is turned on, and is
retracted automatically when the power is
turned off. Do not touch the unit while the
adjuster is in operation. Adjust the
powered tilt adjuster carefully after its
automatic operation is completed.
• To prevent injury, do not place your hand
under the unit inadvertently when you
adjust the adjuster (VPL-CX63/VPL-
CX61 only).
• Do not spread a cloth or paper under the
unit.
Illumination
• To obtain the best picture, the front of the
screen should not be exposed to direct
lighting or sunlight.
• Ceiling-mounted spot lighting is
recommended. Use a cover over
fluorescent lamps to avoid lowering the
contrast ratio.
• Cover any windows that face the screen
with opaque draperies.
• It is desirable to install the unit in a room
where floor and walls are not of light-
reflecting material. If the floor and walls
are of reflecting material, it is
recommended that the carpet and wall
paper be changed to a dark color.
Preventing internal heat build-up
After you turn off the power with the ?/1
key, do not disconnect the unit from the wall
outlet while the cooling fan is still running.
Caution
The unit is equipped with ventilation holes
(intake) and ventilation holes (exhaust). Do
not block or place anything near these holes,
or internal heat build-up may occur, causing
picture degradation or damage to the
projector.
Cleaning
• To keep the cabinet looking new,
periodically clean it with a soft cloth.
Stubborn stains may be removed with a
cloth lightly dampened with a mild
detergent solution. Never use strong
solvents, such as thinner, benzene, or
abrasive cleansers, since these will
damage the cabinet.
• Avoid touching the lens. To remove dust
on the lens, use a soft dry cloth. Do not use
a damp cloth, detergent solution, or
thinner.
• Clean the filter at regular intervals.
LCD data projector
• This LCD data projector is manufactured
using high-precision technology. You may,
however, see tiny black points and/or
bright points (red, blue, or green) that
appear continuously on the LCD data
projector. This is a normal result of the
manufacturing process and does not
indicate a malfunction.

Do not install the projector in the following
situations. Installation is these situations
or locations may cause a malfunction or
damage to the unit.
Poorly ventilated locations
• Allow adequate air circulation to prevent
internal heat build-up. Do not place the
unit on surfaces (rugs, blankets, etc.) or
near materials (curtains, draperies) that
may block the ventilation holes. When
internal heat builds up due to blockage of
ventilation holes, the temperature sensor
will function, and display the message
“High temp.! Lamp off in 1 min.” The
power will be turned off automatically
after one minute.
• Leave space of more than 30 cm (11 7/8
inches) around the unit.
• Be careful not to allow the ventilation
holes to inhale tiny objects such as pieces
of paper or clumps of dust.
Hot and humid
• Avoid installing the unit in a location
where the temperature or humidity is very
high, or the temperature is very low.
• To avoid moisture condensation, do not
install the unit in a location where the
temperature may rise rapidly.
Locations subject to direct cool or
warm air from an air-conditioner
Installing the projector in such a location
may cause a malfunction of the unit due to
moisture condensation or a rise in
temperature.
Near a heat or smoke sensor
Malfunction of the sensor may occur.
Unsuitable Installation

Very dusty, extremely smoky
locations
Avoid installing the unit in a very dusty or
extremely smoky environment. Otherwise,
the air filter will become obstructed, and this
may cause a malfunction of the unit or
damage it. Dust preventing the air passing
through the filter may cause a rise in the
internal temperature of the unit. Clean the
filter periodically.
Do not use the projector under the following
conditions.
Standing the unit upright on one
side
Avoid using the unit standing upright on its
side. It may cause malfunction.
Tilting the unit to the right or left
Avoid tilting the unit to an angle of 15°, and
avoid installing the unit in any way other
than placing it on a level surface or
suspending from the ceiling. Such an
installation may cause color shading or
shorten the lamp life excessively.
Blocking the ventilation holes
Avoid using a thick-piled carpet or anything
that covers the ventilation holes (exhaust/
intake); otherwise, internal heat may build
up.
Placing a blocking object just in
front of the lens
Do not place any object just in front of the
lens that may block the light during
projection. Heat from the light may damage
the object. Use the PIC MUTING key on the
Remote Commander to cut off the picture.
When using the projector at an altitude of
1,500 m or higher, turn on “High
Altitude Mode” in the INSTALL SETTING
menu. Failing to set this mode when using
the projector at high altitudes could have
adverse effects, such as reducing
the reliability of certain components.
Note on carrying the projector (VPL-
CX86/VPL-CX76 only)
The unit is manufactured using high-
precision technology. When transporting the
unit stored in the carrying case, do not drop
the unit or subject it to shock, as this may
cause damage. When storing the unit in the
carrying case, disconnect the AC power cord
and all other connecting cables or cards, and
store the supplied accessories in a pocket of
the carrying case.
Note on the screen
When using a screen with an uneven surface,
a striped pattern may rarely appear on the
screen depending on the distance between
the screen and the projector or the zooming
magnification settings used. This is not a
malfunction of the projector.
