The flexible mains lead is supplied connected to a B.S. 1363 fused plug
having a fuse of 5 AMP capacity. Should the fuse need to be replaced,
use a5 AMP FUSE approved by ASTA to BS 1362, ie one that carries the
mark.
IF THE PLUG SUPPLIED WITH THIS APPLIANCE IS NOT SUITABLE
FOR THE OUTLET SOCKETS IN YOUR HOME, IT SHOULD BE CUT
OFF AND AN APPROPRIATE PLUG FITTED. THE PLUG SEVERED
FROM THE MAINS LEAD MUST BE DESTROYED AS A PLUG WITH
BARED WIRES IS DANGEROUS IF ENGAGED IN A LIVE OUTLET
SOCKET.
When an alternative type of plug is used it should be fitted with a 5 AMP
FUSE, otherwise the circuit should be protected by a 5 AMP FUSE at the
distribution board.
How to replace the fuse.
Open the fuse compartment with
a screwdriver blade and replace
the fuse.

SET-UP ADJUSTMENTS
. When complete readjustment is necessary or a new Carry out the following adjustments in this order :

adjust the horizontal convergence with the H.STAT variable
resistor and the V.STAT magnet in the manner indicated below.
(In this case, the H.STAT variable resistor and the V.STAT

Tilt the VSTAT magnet and adjust the static convergence
by opening or closing the V.STAT magnet.
If the V.STAT magnet is moved in the direction of the (a)
and arrows, the Red, Green and Blue points move as
indicated below.

magnet interact, so be sure to perform adjustment whilst
tracking.

Screen corner convergence.
If you are unable to adjust the corner convergence properly,
this can be corrected by the use of permalloy assemblies.
Fit the permalloy assembly to the rear
of the CRT to correct the area at fault.

3-3. Screen [G2], White balance
Input a dot signal from the pattern generator.

2. Set the Picture, Brightness and Colour to minimum.
3. Apply 170Vdc from an external power supply to the
R, G and B cathodes of the CRT.
4. Whilst watching the picture, adjust the G2 control [RV701
SCREEN] located on the C Board to the point just before the
flyback return lines disappear.
White balance adjustment
Input a ‘PAL’ all-white signal from the pattern generator.
Enter into the Service Mode.
Enter into the ‘Picture’ service menu.
Select the ‘Green drive’ and adjust so that the White Balance
becomes optimum.
Select the ‘Blue drive’ and adjust so that the White Balance
becomes optimum.
6. Set the Picture to MIN.
7. Set the ‘R-cut-off’ to 07.
8. Adjust the ‘G-cut-off’, and the ‘B-cut-off’ so that the White
Balance becomes optimum.
10. Press the © button to return to TV operation.

bring the centre of the screen into focus.
Note :Bring only the centre area of the screen into focu;, switch to an
all-white pattern and confirm that the magenta ring is hardly
noticed. To obtain optimum focus balance the fouss setting
between optimum screen centre focus and a redweed magenta
ring level.

4-1. ELECTRICAL ADJUSTMENTS
Service adjustments to this model can be performed
using the supplied Remote Commander RM-883.
HOW TO ENTER INTO SERVICE MODE
1. Turn on the main power switch and enter into the stand-by
mode.
2. Press the following sequence of buttons on the Remote
Commander.

Service Mode when all adjustments have been completed.
