Connect your power switch to this
header (momentary switch type).
To turn off the system, please
press this switch and hold down
for longer than 4 seconds.
Attach the ATX Power cable to this connector.
When using the Power-On by PS/2 Keyboard
function, please make sure the ATX power
supply can take at least 720mA load on the
5V Standby lead (5VSB) to meet the standard

Step 4. Set SW1 for power up FSB clock and AGP bus clock.
SW1isusedtoadjustAGPbusclockfrequencydependingonthevalueofthefrontsidebus
(FSB)clock,alsothesettingoftheSW1determinesthepowerupFSBclockwhichwill
remaineffectiveuntiltheBIOSsettheFSBclocktotheCMOSsetting.

Step 5. Set the CPU Frequency
ThismainboarddoesnotuseanyjumperstosettheCPUfrequency,CPUsettingare
changedthroughtheBIOS[SOYOCOMBOSETUP].RefertoChapter3 “QuickBIOS
Setup”fordetailsonhowtosetthePentium
IIprocessorfrequency.
Step 6. Enable/Disable Power-On by Keyboard (JP10)
YoucanchoosetoenablethePower-OnbyKeyboardfunctionbyshortingpin1-2onjumper
JP10,otherwise,shortpin2-3todisablethisfunction.

JP10 Setting Short pin 1-2 to enable the
Power-On by Keyboard function. Short pin 2-3 to disable the
Power-On by Keyboard function.
Important: When using the Power-On by Keyboard function, please make sure the
ATX power supply can take at least take 720mA load on the 5V standby lead (5VSB) to
meet the standard ATX specification. Apart from the jumper setting, you have to enter
the CMOS setup and set the “Power-On by Keyboard”item in the SOYO COMBO
Setupto“Password”or function key.
Step 7. Clear CMOS Data (JP5)
CleartheCMOSmemorybymomentarilyshortingpin2-3onjumperJP5foratleast5
seconds,andthenbyshortingpin1-2toretainnewsettings. Thisjumpercanbeeasily
identifiedbyitswhitecoloredcap.
CMOS Clearing Clear CMOS Data Retain CMOS Data
JP5 Setting Short pin 2-3 for
at least 5 seconds
to clear the CMOS.
Short pin 1-2
to retain the
new settings.
Note: You must unplug the ATX power cable from the ATX power connector when
performing the CMOS Clear operation.
You MUST enter the CMOS SETUP and SAVE CMOS
setting twice after clearing CMOS data.
If you fail to do this
your new setting would NOT be Saved.

Note on Over-clocking Capability
TheSY-V6BE+mainboardprovidesover-clockingcapability.Duetotheover-clocking
settingyoursystemmayfailtobootuporhangduringruntime.Ifthisoccurs,pleaseperform
thefollowingstepstorecoveryoursystemfromtheabnormalsituation:
1.
Turnoffsystempower(IfyouuseaATXpowersupply,sometimesyouhavetopress
thepowerbuttonformorethen4secondstoshutdownthesystem)

SettheSW1toshortifyouuseaFSB66MHzCPU,SettheSW1toopenifyouusea
FSB100MHzCPU

Pressandholddownthe<Insert>keywhileturningonthesystempower.Keep
holdingdownthe<Insert>keyuntilyouseethemessageoftheCPUtypeand
frequency(133MHzor200MHz)appearonscreen

Pressthe<Del>keyduringthesystemdiagnosticcheckstoentertheAwardBIOS

FromtheBIOSmainmenu,select[SOYOCOMBO]andmovethecursortothe[CPU

Quick BIOS Setup
ThismainboarddoesnotuseanyhardwarejumperstosettheCPUfrequency.Instead,
CPUsettingsaresoftwareconfigurablewiththeBIOS
[SOYO COMBO SETUP].
The
[SOYOCOMBOSETUP]menucombinesthemainparametersthatyouneedtoconfigure,
allinonemenu,foraquicksetupinBIOS.
Afterthehardwareinstallationis complete,turnthepowerswitch on,thenpressthe

key
duringthesystemdiagnosticcheckstoentertheAwardBIOSSetupprogram.TheCMOS
SETUPUTILITYwill displayonscreen.Then,followthesestepstoconfiguretheCPUsettings.
Step 1. Select [STANDARD CMOS SETUP]
Set[Date/Time]and[Floppydrivetype],thenset[HardDiskType]to “Auto”.
Step 2. Select [LOAD SETUP DEFAULT]
Selectthe“LOADSETUPDEFAULT”menuandtype “Y”attheprompttoloadtheBIOS
optimalsetup.
Step 3. Select [SOYO COMBO SETUP]
Movethecursortothe
[CPUFrequency]
fieldtosetthe CPUfrequency.
Available[CPUFrequency]settingsonyourSY-V6BE+ Mainboardaredetailedinthe
followingtable.Ifyousetthisfieldto[Manual],youarethenrequiredtofillinthenexttwo
consecutivefields:(1)theCPUHost/PCIClock,and(2)theCPURatio.

Step 4. Select [SAVE & EXIT SETUP]

Step 1. Insert the SOYO CD into the CD-ROM drive

2. The‘USBAssignedIRQ’itemunder‘PnP/PCIConfigurationissettoenabled.

start-upprogramdisplaysthedriversavailablefortheSY-V6BE+andtheWindowsversionyouuse.For
Windows95fourdriverswillbelisted(see‘DriverInstallationMenu’below),forWindows98threedriverswill
belisted(theACPIdriverswillbeleftout).
IfyouwanttoseeallthedriversavailableontheSOYO–CD,clicktheDisplayall drivers onthe SOYO
CDbutton.DoNOTinstalldriversthatarenotsuitableforyou board,otherwiseyour systemmaycrash.

menu.WhentheinstallationprogramofadriverstartsrunningtheSOYO-CDwillexit.After
finishingtheinstallation,restarttheSOYO-CDandinstallthenextdriver.Werecommend
youtoinstallalldrivers,andtodosointherightsequence(toptobottom).
Note:
Onceyouhaveselectedadriver,thesystemwillautomaticallyexittheSOYOCDto
beginthedriverinstallationprogram.Whentheinstallationiscomplete,mostdriversrequire
torestartyoursystembeforetheycanbecomeactive.
Installthedriversinsequence, starting withtheVIAIRQ remappingutility.
Afterinstallingalldriversabove,ifyouuseWindows95,firstinstallthe
USBsupplementbeforeinstallingtheAGPdriverthatcamewithyour
AGPcard.
Please select the driver you want to install and click OK, You will have to
restart your system after installation. Only the drivers that are relevant
to your board are displayed initially.
