What are Ultraviolet emissions?
Ultraviolet (UV) emissions are a form of electromagnetic radiation that comes from the sun
and man-made sources like tanning beds and welding torches. Ultraviolet light has shorter
wavelengths than visible (white) light; this means that UV waves are invisible to the human
eye.
Radiation is the emission (sending out) of energy from any source. There are many types
of radiation, ranging from very high-energy (high-frequency) radiation – like x-rays and
gamma rays – to very low-energy (low-frequency) radiation – like radio waves. UV rays are
in the middle of this spectrum. They have more energy than visible light, but not as much as
x-rays.
There are also different types of UV rays, based on how much energy they have. Higher-
energy UV rays are a form of ionizing radiation. This means they have enough energy to
remove an electron from (ionize) an atom or molecule. Ionizing radiation can damage the
DNA, which in turn can destroy a virus on a surface but could also lead to cancer on a
person. However even the highest-energy UV rays don’t have enough energy to penetrate
deeply into the body, so their main effect is on the skin.
UV emissions are divided into 3 main groups:
UV-A rays have the least energy among UV rays. These rays can cause skin cells to age
and can cause some indirect damage to cells’ DNA. UV-A rays are mainly linked to long-
term skin damage such as wrinkles, but they are also thought to play a role in some skin
cancers.
UV-B rays have slightly more energy than UV-A rays. They can damage the DNA in skin
cells directly and are the main rays that cause sunburns. They are also thought to cause
most skin cancers.
UV-C rays have more energy than the other types of UV rays. In nature, they react with
ozone high in our atmosphere and generally don’t reach the ground, so they are not normally
a risk factor. However, UV-C rays from man-made sources, such as arc welders, mercury
lamps, and UV disinfection bulbs used to kill bacteria and viruses in water, air, or surfaces
do present a risk factor. The necessary PPE and operational precautions must be taken,
just as when using arc welding equipment.
Health issues related to Ultraviolet emissions:
In addition to skin cancer, exposure to UV rays from the sun or artificial sources like tanning
beds can cause sunburn, premature aging of the skin and signs of sun damage such as
wrinkles, leathery skin, liver spots, actinic keratosis, and solar elastosis. UV rays can also
cause eye problems and weaken the immune system.

Rear View of unit:
Operation:
UV Manual Mode:- Used for hand held Surface Disinfection
Allows you to sweep surfaces or objects at close range, it is for the handheld sterilization
of small areas or items.
To activate “Manual Mode”: Press the UV power switch, this will activate the proximity
sensor and allow the UV rays to be emitted once the lens of the unit is held within 3cm of
an object or surface. Hold the lens close to the surface and sweep the unit slowly across
the area to be sterilized aim to travel at 1cm per second and be sure to overlay each track
slightly. Be aware that the UV rays will be extinguished if the unit is moved more than 3cm
away from the surface. This is a safety measure to prevent accidental exposure and
ensure that the optimal distance for manual mode sterilization is maintained.
You can tell that the UV-C light is working from the UVC indicator lamp on rear of the unit,
when UVC indicator lamp is on continuously, the disinfection function is on. When UVC
indicator lamp is flashing, the disinfection function is off.
Note: In manual mode, the movement deactivation system is disabled.

UV Fixed Mode: - Stationary use to sterilize a surface for 15
min
To Activate “Fixed Mode”double press the power switch for UV Operation For safety
reasons there is a three second delay between activating fixed mode and the UV-C rays
coming on.
For added safety, there is also a motion sensor which deactivates the UV rays whenever
movement is detected. For visual confirmation when in fixed mode, the UVC and AUTO
indicator lamps (on rear of unit) will stay on continuously.
Pushing the UV switch again, will turn the UV function off.
Work light Mode: Used for normal lighting requirements, in the work place, home,
outdoors, hiking, camping fishing etc. Note: Turning the work light on automatically turns
the UV light off, both cannot be on at the same time.
To Activate “Work Light Mode”: Press the power switch once, for white light and
the unit can be used as a normal work light. Press the power switch again to turn off.
UV-C Test Mode: Used to turn on UV-C emitters only (without any visible light). Test mode
is used to test the operation of the UV-C emitters. Entre test mode and hold the lens close
to the test card, If the words “UV-C LIGHT” become visible on the test card you have
confirmed that the UV-C emitters are working.
To Activate “Test Mode”: Press and hold the UV button in, after 2 seconds the UV-C
emitters will turn on, now only invisible UV-C light is coming out of the lens - for as long as
you hold the UV button in. Once you stop pressing the UV button the emitters turn off.
Battery charger indicator
The battery charger indicator is located on the back of the lamp and consists of a color
change LED.
Charging Mode: Green LED flashing when charging, Green LED on when charged.
Charge Level: Green>90%, Yellow: 89%-16%, Red<15%.

9
Charging Port
Next to the on/off switch on the back of the light, underneath the rubberized protective
cover, a USB-C charging socket is located. Pull the water-resistant cover up to expose the
USB-C port. Plug the USB-C cable end into the light and the USB end into an appropriate
USB port (e.g. Computer / Phone Charger/240v USB plug). While charging the process is
symbolized by flashing green LED on the battery indicator. When fully charged the Battery
indicator LED will be illuminated solid green.
Maintenance:
Fully charge the light before first use
Recharge after every use
When not in use recharge every 3 mouths
The lamp must not be switched on whilst being charged
Use only 5v / 1A charger to charge lamp
Disposal & Recycling Information
When the tool reaches its end of life, take it to a collection point designated by local
Authorities for E-wast. The separate collection and recycling of your product at the time of
disposal will help conserve natural resources and ensure that it is recycled in a manner
that protects human, heath and the environment.
• The safety features should be regularly checked for proper function
• The product must not be used, if damaged or defective in any way
• Modification of the product is not allowed
• Store in a safe place away from children and untrained personal
• This Disinfection lamp is not a toy - store away from children
• This Disinfection Light must be operated by adults only
NEVER look directly at the UV light while it is illuminated – doing so could temporarily or
chronically damage your eyesight or may even result in loss of vision. Failure to follow all
instructions listed may result in serious personal injury.
• Use objects to block UV rays for example when disinfecting inside a car, keeping all the
windows up prevents UV-C rays escaping the vehicle as they cannot pass through the
glass of the vehicles windows. Short wave ultraviolet with wavelength 200~280nm (UVC,)
has the weakest penetration ability and cannot penetrate most transparent glass and
plastic products. Quartz is an exception and reason this unit is fitted with a quartz lens.
• Avoid using on valuable
• Always wear long sleeved cloths to cover bare skin
• Always wear Glasses with glass or resin lenses
• Always wear gloves to cover hands
• Most importantly, make sure people, pets and plants
cannot be exposed to UV rays during sterilization.
• The warnings, cautions and instructions discussed in
this instruction manual cannot cover all possible
conditions and situations that may occur. The operator must exercise common sense
and caution when using this UV-C Disinfection lamp.
