GENERAL MOUNTING AND INSTALLATION HINTS
■Choose a location where the woofer and the tweeter can be mounted close to each other.
■Make sure the tweeters are mounted in a place where they are obstructed as little as possible.
■The position where the mid/woofer will be mounted must be level in order to provide a tight seal.
■Check behind the chosen mounting locations to make sure that there are no obstructions in the way, e.g. window tracks,
electrical wiring, gas tank etc.
■Use high-quality speaker cable with a cross-section of at least 1,5 mm² to connect the crossover unit to the
power amplifier or to the head-unit.
■Before mounting the crossover, check out the tweeter attenuation levels by setting the positive tweeter wire at the x-over
to either 0 dB, -3dB or -6dB to
find the best treble balance for your installation.
■Your component system needs some time to “break in”. Especially the mid/woofer speaker units will need some hours
before the optimum sound quality is achieved.

INSTALLING
THE TWEETER
INSTALLING THE TWEETER
Two different tweeter mounting options are provided by the
tweeter mounting hardware included in the set contents:
Angled Surface Mounting Option
Use the flat mounting adapter housing as a template: Drill
three holes: One 4.5 mm diameter hole for the tweeter wire
routing, two 2,5mm pilot holes for the tweeter fixation screws.
Fix the angled adapter housing plate to the surface, using the
two provided self tapping screws. Feed the wire through the
adapter bottom plate and the pre-drilled hole. Align the tweeter
unit inside the adapter housing and take the separate front ring
pushing it down to the base cup until it locks in place with an
audible „clack“.
Flush Mounting Option
First of all, find a good location where to install the tweeters. Cut
the mounting hole, the exact cutout diameter is 51 mm. Check
the clearance behind the surface, before you start to cut the
hole! The assembled surface mount tweeter unit needs approx.
20 mm installation depth/clearance. Insert the pre-assembled
tweeter in its flush mount housing adapter into the cutout. You
can now slip on the thin round plastic crown on the back of the
tweeter until the tweeter is fixed tightly in place.

INSTALLING THE MID/WOOFER
The EURO-DIN frame woofers allow easy replacement of the
factory installed speaker systems. Unscrew and remove the
old mid/woofer (or fullrange speaker) and check the available
cutout diamter and the mounting depth. Route the speaker wire
going to the x-over first, now slide on the wire connectors to the
midwoofer and screw the mid/woofer in place. For best bass
performance, the mid/woofers must be mounted on a solid
background, providing an airtight and perfect fit.
If you intend to use the speaker grilles provided, place them on
top of the mid/woofer and screw the whole assembly in place.
MOUNTING THE CROSSOVER
The crossover can be mounted in any location inside the vehicle.
Stay away from places that could lead to excessive exposure to
dirt, moisture or heat.
Double check the connection of all the speaker wires attached to
the x-over! They must all be connected in-phase, that is positive
(+) is connected to positive (+), and negative (-) is connected
to negative (-). It is advisable to reversely connect both main
tweeter wires to the crossover unit and check the sonic result
by a short listening test. One of the two connections will sound
better. This is the one to be considered.
Tweeter Level Attenuation
The crossover allows for three tweeter attenuation levels!
The attenuation can be set right at the tweeter terminal of the
crossover. Connect the positive wire coming from the tweeter
to either 0dB, -3dB or -6dB and listen to the resulting treble
balance. Choose a setting that pleases you best.
