Intended use
Your STANLEY FATMAX SCC500 circular saw has been
designed for for sawing wood and wood products. This tool is
intended for professional and private, non professional users.
Safety instructions
General power tool safety warnings
Warning! Read all safety warnings, instructions,
illustrations and specications provided with this
power tool. Failure to follow all instructions listed
below may result in electric shock, re and/or
serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" in all of the warnings listed below
refers to your mains operated (corded) power tool or battery
operated (cordless) power tool.
1. Work area safety
a. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark
areas invite accidents.
b. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres,
such as in the presence of ammable liquids, gases
or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away while operating a
power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. Electrical safety
a. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs
with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodied plugs
and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded
surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock
if your body is earthed or grounded.
c. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
d. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for
carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep
cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving
parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of
electric shock.
e. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

c. Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or
remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power
tool before making any adjustments, changing
accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power
tool accidentally.
d. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and
do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or
these instructions to operate the power tool. Power
tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e. Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for
misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of
parts and any other condition that may affect the
power tools operation. If damaged, have the power
tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by
poorly maintained power tools.
f. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly
maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less
likely to bind and are easier to control.
g. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in
accordance with these instructions, taking into
account the working conditions and the work to be
performed. Use of the power tool for operations different
from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
h. Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and
free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and
grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and
control of the tool in unexpected situations.
5. Battery tool use and care
a. Recharge only with the charger specied by the
manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of
battery pack may create a risk of re when used with
another battery pack.
b. Use power tools only with specically designated
battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create
a risk of injury and re.
c. When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from
other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys,
nails, screws, or other small metal objects, that can
make a connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns
or a re.
d. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from
the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally
occurs, ush with water. If liquid contacts eyes,
additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
e. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged or
modied. Damaged or modied batteries may exhibit
unpredictable behaviour resulting in re, explosion or risk
of injury.
f. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.
3. Personal safety
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common
sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a
power tool while you are tired or under the inuence
of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention
while operating power tools may result in serious
personal injury.
b. Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye
protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask,
non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection
used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.
c. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in
the off-position before connecting to power source
and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool.
Carrying power tools with your nger on the switch or
energising power tools that have the switch on
invites accidents.
d. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning
the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a
rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at
all times. This enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.
f. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from
moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can
be caught in moving parts.
g. If devices are provided for the connection of dust
extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used. Use of dust collection can
reduce dust-related hazards.
h. Do not let familiarity gained from frequent use of tools
allow you to become complacent and ignore tool
safety principles. A careless action can cause severe
injury within a fraction of a second.
4. Power tool use and care
a. Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power
tool for your application. The correct power tool will do
the job better and safer at the rate for which it
was designed.
b. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it
on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with
the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

f. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to re or
excessive temperature. Exposure to re or temperature
above 130 °C may cause explosion.
g. Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the
battery pack or tool outside the temperature range
specied in the instructions. Charging improperly or at
temperatures outside the specied range may damage the
battery and increase the risk of re.
6. Service
a. Have your power tool serviced by a qualied repair
person using only identical replacement parts. This
will ensure that the safety of the power tool
is maintained.
b. Never service damaged BATTERY packs. Service of
BATTERY packs should only be performed by the
manufacturer or authorized service providers.

Cutting procedures
●DANGER! Keep hands away from cutting area and the
blade. Keep your second hand on auxiliary handle,
or motor housing. If both hands are holding the saw,
they cannot be cut by theblade.
●Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The
guard cannot protect you from the blade below
theworkpiece.
●Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the
workpiece. Less than a full tooth of the blade teeth
should be visible below theworkpiece.
●Never hold piece being cut in your hands or across
your leg. Secure the workpiece to a stable platform.
It is important to support the work properly to
minimize body exposure, blade binding, or loss
ofcontrol.
●Hold the power tool by insulated gripping surfaces
only, when performing an operation where the
cutting tool may contact hidden wiring. Contact with
a "live" wire will also make exposed metal parts of
the power tool "live" and could give the operator an
electricshock.
●When ripping, always use a rip fence or straight edge
guide. This improves the accuracy of cut and reduces
the chance of bladebinding.
●Always use blades with correct size and shape
(diamond versus round) of arbour holes. Blades that
do not match the mounting hardware of the saw will
run eccentrically, causing loss ofcontrol.
●Never use damaged or incorrect blade washers or
bolt. The blade washers and bolt were specially
designed for your saw, for optimum performance
and safety ofoperation.

Kickback causes and related warnings
●kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound or
misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to
lift up and out of the workpiece toward the operator;
●when the blade is pinched or bound tightly by the kerf
closing down, the blade stalls and the motor reaction
drives the unit rapidly back toward the operator;
●if the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut,
the teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into the
top surface of the wood causing the blade to climb
out of the kerf and jump back toward the operator.
Kickback is the result of saw misuse and/or incorrect operating
procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper
precautions as given below.
a. Maintain a rm grip with both hands on the saw and
position your arms to resist kickback forces. Position
your body to either side of the blade, but not in line
with the blade. Kickback could cause the saw to jump
backwards, but kickback forces can be controlled by
the operator, if proper precautions are taken.
b. When blade is binding, or when interrupting a cut for
any reason, release the trigger and hold the saw
motionless in the material until the blade comes to a
complete stop. Never attempt to remove the saw from
the work or pull the saw backward while the blade is
in motion or kickback may occur. Investigate and take
corrective actions to eliminate the cause of
blade binding.
c. When restarting a saw in the workpiece, centre the
saw blade in the kerf and check that saw teeth are not
engaged into the material. If saw blade is binding, it
may walk up or kickback from the workpiece as the
saw is restarted.
d. Support large panels to minimise the risk of blade
pinching and kickback. Large panels tend to sag
under their own weight. Supports must be placed
under the panel on both sides, near the line of cut and
near the edge of the panel.
e. Do not use dull or damaged blades. Unsharpened or
improperly set blades produce narrow kerf causing
excessive friction, blade binding and kickback.
f. Blade depth and bevel adjusting locking levers must
be tight and secure before making cut. If blade
adjustment shifts while cutting, it may cause binding
and kickback.
g. Use extra caution when sawing into existing walls or
other blind areas. The protruding blade may cut
objects that can cause kickback.

Lower guard function
a. Check lower guard for proper closing before each use.
Do not operate the saw if lower guard does not move
freely and close instantly. Never clamp or tie the lower
guard into the open position. If saw is accidentally
dropped, lower guard may be bent. Raise the lower guard
with the retracting handle and make sure it moves freely
and does not touch the blade or any other part, in all
angles and depths of cut.
b. Check the operation of the lower guard spring. If the
guard and the spring are not operating properly, they
must be serviced before use. Lower guard may operate
sluggishly due to damaged parts, gummy deposits, or a
build-up of debris.
c. Lower guard may be retracted manually only for
special cuts such as "plunge cuts" and "compound
cuts". Raise lower guard by retracting handle and as
soon as blade enters the material, the lower guard must
be released. For all other sawing, the lower guard should
operate automatically.
d. Always observe that the lower guard is covering the
blade before placing saw down on bench or oor. An
unprotected, coasting blade will cause the saw to walk
backwards, cutting whatever is in its path. Be aware of the
time it takes for the blade to stop after switch is released.
Safety of others
●This tool is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
●Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
Residual risks
Additional residual risks may arise when using the tool which
may not be included in the enclosed safety warnings. These
risks can arise from misuse, prolonged use etc.
Even with the application of the relevant safety regulations
and the implementation of safety devices, certain residual
risks can not be avoided. These include:
● Injuries caused by touching any rotating/moving parts.
●Injuries caused when changing any parts, blades
or accessories.
●Injuries caused by prolonged use of a tool. When
using any tool for prolonged periods ensure you take
regular breaks.
●Impairment of hearing.
●Health hazards caused by breathing dust developed when
using your tool (example:- working with wood, especially
oak, beech and MDF.)
Saw blades
●Do not use blades of larger or smaller diameter than
recommended. For the proper blade rating refer to
the technical data. Use only the blades specified in
this manual, complying with EN 847-1.
●Warning! Never use abrasivewheels.

and chargers
Batteries
●Never attempt to open for any reason.
● Do not expose the battery to water.
●Do not store in locations where the temperature may
exceed 40 °C.

●Charge only at ambient temperatures between 10 °C and
40 °C.
●Charge only using the charger provided with the tool.
●When disposing of batteries, follow the instructions given
in the section "Protecting the environment".
Chargers
●Use your STANLEY FATMAX charger only to charge
the battery in the tool with which it was supplied. Other
batteries could burst, causing personal injury and damage.
●Never attempt to charge non-rechargeable batteries.
●Have defective cords replaced immediately.
● Do not expose the charger to water.
●Do not open the charger.
●Do not probe the charger.
The charger is intended for indoor use only.
Read the instruction manual before use.
Do not attempt to charge damaged batteries.
Electrical safety
Your charger is double insulated; therefore no
earth wire is required. Always check that the
mains voltage corresponds to the voltage on
the rating plate. Never attempt to replace the
charger unit with a regular mains plug.
●If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by
the manufacturer or an authorised STANLEY FATMAX
Service Centre in order to avoid a hazard.
Warning! Never attempt to replace the charger
unit with a regular mains plug.

Use
Warning! Let the tool work at its own pace. Do
not overload.
Charging the battery (Fig. A)
The battery needs to be charged before rst use and
whenever it fails to produce sufcient power on jobs that were
easily done before. The battery may become warm while
charging; this is normal and does not indicate a problem.
Warning! Do not charge the battery at ambient
temperatures below 10 °C or above 40 °C.
Recommended charging temperature: approx.
24 °C.
Note: The charger will not charge a battery if the cell
temperature is below approximately 10 °C or above
40 °C. The battery should be left in the charger and the
charger will begin to charge automatically when the cell
temperature warms up or cools down.
Note: To ensure maximum performance and life of lithium-ion
battery packs, charge the battery pack fully before rst use.
●Plug the charger (11) into an appropriate outlet before
inserting battery pack (10).
●The green charging light (11a) will blink continuously
indicating that the charging process has started.
●The completion of charge will be indicated by the green
charging light (11a) remaining ON continuously. The
battery pack (10) is fully charged and may be removed
and used at this time or left in the charger (11).
●Charge discharged batteries within 1 week. Battery life will
be greatly diminished if stored in a discharged state.

Note: The compatible charger(s) will not charge a faulty
battery pack. The charger will indicate a faulty battery pack by

charger indicates a problem, take the charger and battery
pack to be tested at an authorized service centre.

Leaving the battery in the charger
The charger and battery pack can be left connected with the
LED glowing indenitely. The charger will keep the battery
pack fresh and fully charged.
Hot/Cold Pack Delay
When the charger detects a battery that is too hot or too
cold, it automatically starts a Hot/Cold Pack Delay, the green
LED (11a) will ash intermittently, while the red LED (11b) will
remain on continuously, suspending charging until the battery
has reached an appropriate temperature. The charger then
automatically switches to the pack charging mode. This
feature ensures maximum battery life.
Battery state of charge indicator (Fig. B)
The battery includes a state of charge indicator to quickly
determine the extent of battery life as shown in gure B. By
pressing the state of charge button (10a) you can easily view
the charge remaining in the battery as illustrated in gure B.
Installing and Removing the Battery Pack from
the tool
Warning! Make certain the lock-off button is
engaged to prevent switch actuation before
removing or installing battery.
To install battery pack (Fig. C)
● Insert battery pack rmly into tool until an audible click is
heard as shown in gure C. Ensure battery pack is fully
seated and fully latched into position.
To remove battery pack (Fig. D)
●Depress the battery release button (10b) as shown in
gure D and pull battery pack out of tool.
Removing and tting a saw blade (Fig. E)
Removing
●Keep the spindle lock button (5) depressed and rotate the
blade until the spindle lock engages.
●Loosen and remove the blade retaining screw (14) by
turning it clockwise using the Allen key (7) supplied.
●Remove the outer washer (13).
●Remove the saw blade (15).
Fitting
● Place the saw blade (15) onto the inner ange (12),
making sure that the arrow on the blade points in the
same direction as the arrow on the tool.
●Fit the outer washer (13) on the spindle, with the raised
part pointing away from the saw blade.
●Insert the blade retaining screw (14) into the hole.
●Keep the spindle lock button (5) depressed.
●Securely tighten the blade retaining screw by turning it
counterclockwise using the Allen key (7) supplied.
Adjusting the sawing angle (Fig. F)
Use a square to check that the angle between the saw
blade (15)
and the shoe is 90º. If the angle does not measure 90º adjust
as follows:
●Loosen the locking knob (17) to unlock the saw shoe.
●Loosen the locknut on the adjusting screw (16).
●Screw the adjusting screw in or out to achieve a 90º angle.
●Retighten the locknut.
●Tighten the locking knob to lock the saw shoe in place.
Adjusting the depth of cut (Fig. G)
The depth of cut should be set according to the thickness
of the workpiece. It should exceed the thickness by approx.
2 mm.
●Loosen the knob (18) to unlock the saw shoe.
●Move the saw shoe (6) into the desired position.
●Tighten the knob to lock the saw shoe in place.
Adjusting the bevel angle (Fig. H)
This tool can be set to bevel angles between 0º and 45º.
●Loosen the locking knob (19) to unlock the saw shoe.
●Move the saw shoe (6) into the desired position.
The corresponding bevel angle can be read from the
scale (20).
●Tighten the locking knob to lock the saw shoe in place.
Switching on and off
●To switch the tool on, press down the lock-off button (2)
and squeeze the on/off switch (1).
● To switch the tool off, release the on/off switch.
Sawing
Always hold the tool with both hands.
●Let the blade run freely for a few seconds before starting
the cut.
●Apply only a gentle pressure to the tool while performing
the cut.
●Work with the shoe pressed against the workpiece.
Note: Take care not to allow the blade tips to overheat.

Using the sight guide (Fig. I)
The tool is equipped with a sight guide for straight cutting (21)
and for 45º bevel cutting (22).
●Align the left edge of the guides (21) or (22) with the
cutting line (23).
●Keep the sight guide aligned with the cutting line
while sawing.
●Work with the shoe pressed against the workpiece.
Dust extraction
An adaptor is required to connect a vacuum cleaner or dust
extractor to the tool.
● Insert the dust extraction adaptor into the saw dust
outlet (9).
●Connect the vacuum cleaner hose to the adaptor.
Hints for optimum use
●Always use the appropriate type of saw blade for the
workpiece material and type of cut.
●Always hold the tool with both hands.
●Let the blade run freely for a few seconds before starting
the cut.
●Apply only a gentle pressure to the tool while performing
the cut.
●Work with the shoe pressed against the workpiece.
●As some splintering along the line of cut on the top side of
the workpiece cannot be avoided, cut on the side where
splintering is acceptable.
●Where splintering is to be minimised, e.g. when cutting
laminates, clamp a piece of plywood onto the top of
the workpiece.
●Support large panels to minimize the risk of blade pinching
and kickback. Large panels tend to sag under their
own weight.
●Supports must be placed under the panel on both sides,
near the line of cut and near the edge of the panel
being cut.
●Never hold piece being cut in your hands or across
your leg.
●Secure the workpiece to a stable platform using clamps. It
is important to support the work properly to minimize body
exposure, blade binding, or loss of control.
Accessories
The performance of your tool depends on the accessory
used. STANLEY FATMAX accessories are engineered to high
quality standards and designed to enhance the performance
of your tool. By using these accessories you will get the very
best from your tool.
Maintenance
Your STANLEY FATMAX tool has been designed to operate
over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.
Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool
care and regular cleaning.
Your charger does not require any maintenance apart from
regular cleaning.
Warning! Before performing any maintenance on
the tool, remove the battery from the tool. Unplug
the charger before cleaning it.
●Regularly clean the ventilation slots in your tool and
charger using a soft brush or dry cloth.
●Regularly clean the motor housing using a damp cloth.
●Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner.
Protecting the environment
Separate collection. Products and batteries marked
with this symbol must not be disposed of with
normal household waste.
Products and batteries contain materials that can be
recovered or recycled reducing the demand for raw materials.
Please recycle electrical products and batteries according to

使用

為電池充電 (圖A)
在首次使用前，以及在電池不能提供順利完成工作所需的電力
時，需要為電池充電。電池在充電時可能會發熱；這是正常現象，
並非出現問題。
警告！請勿在溫度低於10°C或高於40°C的環境中為
電池充電。建議充電溫度為：約24°C。
注意：如果電池溫度低於10°C或高於40°C，則充電器不會為電池充電。
應將電池留在充電器中，當電池溫度回升或冷卻後，充電器將自
動為電池充電。
注意：為確保實現最高性能，最大限度地延長鋰離子電池的使用
壽命，請在初次使用前，先為電池組充滿電量。

調整鋸片角度（圖F）
用直角尺檢查鋸片之間的角度（15）并且讓底座保持90°。如果角
度不是90°，請按以下步驟進行調整：
●鬆開鎖定把手（17），解鎖電鋸底座。
●鬆開調整螺絲（16）上的鎖緊螺絲。

3. 신체 안전 사항

배터리 충전 (그림 A)
배터리는 처음 사용하기 전과 이전에 쉽게 수행했던 작업에서
